Rlaarlo have certainly been popular lately with the release of the AK917, can the AM-D12 live up to the hype? Is this just the AM-X12 with a new coat of paint? I think those scale details such as LEDs and roll cage make it a little bit special.

Hard to decide. I have x12 but plan ro buy dm 12. Are the parts interchangeable?
Can you recommend a wheel spacer kit? I think it’s also known as a hex wheel extension kit? These axles do not have axle pins and the kits online are incompatible with this car.

Would it be able to slide like that on asphalt? This videos location seems like a very smooth and probably slidey surface. Also do you happen to know the original tire diameter/width? Can't seem to find it yet. Looking for some paddle tires to go along with some street tires. 😂 also looking for axle extenders, just throwing it out there. The rlaarlo doesn't seem to use pinned hexes, some say this might be hard to find. It's my first rc so im clueless on the front cvd assy 😂
With the X12 tires on it runs like an X12 on 2s.
The 1/14 truggy acts the same way on 3s . They’re good enough in 2s imo .

Tires make the biggest difference in every car's handling, and in this case the final drive ratio is much different between your two options as well. Not quite apples-to-apples, but still an interesting test nonetheless! But one thing I wonder, Sir, as a throttle junkie myself, are you aware there are degrees of throttle between Brake and Full? LOL, with great (3s) power comes great (pointer fingie) responsibility. And I think you've gone rogue. Or maybe it needs an ESC calibration?
Could the throttle be tamed (when using large wheels) by adjusting the rates on the transmitter? Make it full deflection of the throttle trigger is only half power on the car?
Does the transmitter even have this option?

Yes, you can lower the maximum throttle. But then you might as well use a 2s lipo instead of 3s.
Hi can i use amx12 body shell for amd12?
im not the one to talk on that, i dont own one, just here to say the shell on the AMD12 is hinged, not sure about the amx12 though. but if it isn't i doubt theyre compatible without making modifications.
This is correct, while the AM-X12 shell will fit on the AM-D12 since it's essentially the same chassis underneath. The D12 shell at the back is hinged and doesn't attach with body posts. You will likely need to source some AM-X12 parts to fit the shell.
