Looking for a new bike for 2021. A replacement for my 2018 R1200GS Adventure. So took out this large tourer. So see my first impressions. Glad I got out the dealer without dropping it :-)
So..... Couple of observations from a current owner. 1. Take it out of Rain mode and it will come alive even more, especially in Dynamic 2. I'm pretty sure that model has shift assist pro. Use it. Clutch less up and down shifts are so much more fun. 3. If you aren't in a hurry you don't need to work the gearbox that much. It pulls hard in high gears at low speeds with little fuss. 4. Treat yourself to a new microphone. Really hard to hear your commentary most of the time on the ride.
While I appreciate you posting a review, I really struggled to hear what you were saying while you had your helmet on. I tried to enable captions, but they were unavailable.
Impressive machine, looks stealthy and classy yet looks expensive but not overly showy. I really love it and would consider it as a replacement for my R1200RT. Switched over to an electric car and developed a thing for smooth and quiet running engines, which the Boxer engine isn't one of =)
I unfortunately had gear box issues Then the transmission broke at 48000 miles.very costly too. An oil leak developed On the right side at 29000 miles And multiple issues with my fog lights when raining.
I was looking in to a GS adventure but having just taken one out for a test ride I find the handlebar/riding position puts too much strain on my arms and shoulders and so I wondered how the GT compares in this regards being as you have ridden both?
Hi All. Anyone knows what will happen with K serie in 2021, at least in Europe, in order to comply with Euro 5? Either a new model will be put in place, who knows to celebrate 10th anniversary, or Sales closed in Europe? Another way? None tips about that given by dealers or others....!!
Hi Rui Manique, do you have any information, what will happen this year with the K Serie? What is about the new ACC technologie? I heard that sale of the K serie will end in autumn this year (?) Dealers give no information ... I asked BMW Berlin, result: no information 🤔
@@rainersiegmund8875 Hi Rainer. Me neither! I asked different dealers across Europe, even outside Europe, and no one has an accurate answer to give. Some told me that production was stopped. Inside the Country I have collected different opinions from dealers but none 100% confidence about what will happen. Browsing the internet and different Forums, the information available and shared it's the same, meaning, everyone is on the clouds without any kind of information. Unbelivable what BMW does with their own customers not giving them an answer and the same to the dealers once they are not updated, from the mother house, in terms of internal information to share with clients. BMW is doing everything very well to lose customers, because, those who want to buy this type of moto will move to a competitor brand. Myself, I have asked BMW Germany directly and the answer was none, just saying that they don't give this sort of information previously, only over their own channels and when appropriated. One thing is sure, due to the Euro 5 rule, this bike cannot stay as is, therefore, either they just keep its sale out Europe, they update it, or they kill K serie. For those who want to buy similar moto and keep on BMW, they have to choose the R1250RT, I think, the most similar inside BMW models and already updated with a different layout. Meantime and in case you get any updated information, please share it with me. Regards
