All of the DSM performances just give me chills every time I watch them Better than the Bellas imo (not that I didn't like the Bellas performances) They have such a commanding presence it's insane
Fun fact so while they were filming PP2 the two biggest DSM performances were filmed and put together last to really get that feel of awe and shock throughout the entire cast. In their very first performance during the car show, the Bella’s reactions were 100% authentic and real. They had no idea that DSM could sing and dance like that and even while they were starting film, the girls would go and watch little snippets of DSM’s little dance practices, but they had never seen them actually perform until the very last take. Also at the end of the movie during DSM’s last performance, you can see the girls were still absolutely SHOOK with their performance, they still weren’t sure exactly what was gonna go down until the last takes😂😱 soooo cool!
The Pitch Perfect movies are *really* bad at making it seem like the Bellas deserve to win the championships. Or at least in the first two (I've yet to see the third). The Treblemakers and DSM just had outstanding performances and the only reason the Bellas ever end up winning is 'cause they do something that's surprising. Ie 1, they did something extremely different than what everyone expects of the Bellas, and in two, they used an original song *and* called up Bellas from generations past but honestly? The performances were great but not exactly as good as either the Treblemakers or DSM's performances. I suppose in 1, they had a better chance of at least tying so it makes more sense, but in 2? Nah, DSM really killed it.
IMO, the first DSM song was miles ahead of the second. The second wasnt as unison. Don’t get me wrong, they were both amazing, but the Bellas had better chances after the worlds performance
