Will see if they have to recall hundreds of thousands cars for engine problems.

Over 3 years of ownership - never a problem. Change oil as per manufacturer's recommendation. Smooth, powerful, quiet and crazy fuel efficiency in the VC-Turbo.

The federal entity is opening an investigation involving over 450,000 Nissan Rogue, Nissan Altima, and Infiniti QX50 models, which use those two engines. According to the NHTSA, owners are reporting knocking sounds, loss of power, metal bits in their oil pans, and even total failures. Nissan has made changes to the engines' main bearings and L-links since they've been on sale to address potential engine damage; however, a recall hasn't been issued yet.

Really wish Nissan/Infiniti would repurpose this powertrain in the Sentra to introduce or revive the NISMO or SE-R! They used to make affordable fun cars! Most spirited car guys can't afford the GT-R or 370z NISMO!

Another reason to not buy a Nissan
It’s not enough that people not buying Nissan bc they afraid of cvt transmission now they have to afraid about both engine and transmission

I agree. Not going to take the chance with this small engine combined with a CVT. Too much can go wrong. Since it is a CVT, Nissan requires the transmission to be serviced every 60000 miles. That is a pretty big expense.

People keep banging about how horrible nissan’s cvt is which to some i can agree but i can guarantee most people don’t even look up on what kind of maintenance the transmission needs. most of the time people will neglect it and when they get to a certain mileage it won’t even be worth changing the fluid it’s up to the consumer to do research on the product they’re purchasing the company is not obligated to tell you on what you should or shouldn’t do to your vehicle that’s up to you not defending nissan but also not siding with the consumer

@@rcairflr Every single transmission in any passenger vehicle or pickup needs serviced by 60k, if you ask the engineers that designed them, and engineers have spoken to this.
The longer maintainance intervals now, or the laughable "lifetime fluid" is an utter non-truth pushed by the marketing department (not the engineers) to make the vehicles look maintainance-free. "Lifetime" is the warranty period, and past that point is where they can attack your bank account.
My best recommendation is to stick with the car companies who are telling you to change oil @ 5k, trans fluid at 30-50k, transfer case fluid @ 30-50k, rear differential fluid @ 50k, coolant @ 100k. Those are the companies who are being honest with you, and want their brand name associated with 300k mile vehicle longevity as a rule, and not a longevity exception.
As for nissans cvt, I tend to agree with the naysayers. Cvt notwithstanding, nissan makes a solid vehicle.

Actually, scientifically the mask has a chance of working if the virus is not at its most contagious stage of the cycle. A chance is not bad for the .5% of people that will die. But politically yes the mask don't work. It is all about rational and manipulation.
