Great informative vid. I'm currently converting a van myself and a new best friend for me is a set of plastic trim removal tools, screwdrivers can do so much damage.... Keep up the good work.
Thanks! This will help me a lot when I'm changing mine for some Focal ones :) Going to try and modify the original tweet-holders so i can fit the new ones..
Hi. Great video -well explained. I’ve an 04 t5 that has the previous type of radio/surround…have you any idea if there is a kit that i can get to upgrade so that the van can take more modern radios? i.e. the radio/head units that take two fixing screws on either side of the radio. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. I like that the tweeters we an exact fit for replacement of the factory tweeters, but the picture of the tweeters on the box does not look like what you unboxed. Your look bonded onto the mounting bracket. Did Skipton audio modify the Clarion package for a T5 before shipping it to you, or is this really what Clarion supply despite looking different to the picture? The cost of this Clarion package is quite inexpensive. Would you buy the same again, or do you wish you'd spent more?
ken Cottingham to be completely honest i didn't have a rivet gun and also the cones were slightly smaller than the riveted holes on the door. Sealant was the quickest solution!!! #bodgejob
Hi G Dub, I want to fit dash speakers in my T5 2010 but there is no speakers there as standard but the mesh is there, will I have to install new wires to power them from the head unit? any help would be great
Sadly the plastic collars around the cones were smaller than they should have been, couldn't rivet them on without drilling new holes in the metal window regulator plate - Time was fleeting!
For audio quality low module silicone the the best 👌. Good video 👍 riveting not so good as it doesn’t isolate the speakers as well from the door, low mod sealant being the most flexible best if you can get the matting behind speakers as well. Sorry I’m a bit of a Hi Fi noob🥴
Hi, are would you still recommend this speaker set or try another? It seems ideal and pretty cheap. One of my door speakers has blown on my 2011 t5 so I’m in need of some asap
Considering upgrading my front speakers and found your vid, great video, concise and great info as I now know what to do and the fact you can purchase direct replacements. Mines a 2013 Sportline but imagine it very similar. Great advice on being careful of the windscreen 👍. Just 2 things I had issue with, firstly I’d edit the video so the sound comparison is one after the other and,to me more important, mastic? Really dude? You had to drill out the rivets so why didn’t you just rivet the new one or perhaps use some rivnuts? Unless you were advise to use mastic for deadening etc?
Call SCR on 01422 839764 and they’ll be able to help you. The video is approx 2/3 years old now so they’ll have different options now but if you mention GDUBTV they’ll take care of you 👌🏼🎥🚐
Sorry I can't, was a while back now. I remember it was a special offer Skipton had advertised on a Facebook T5 forum. Give them a call, I'm sure they'll hook you up with a deal 👊🏼
It was a bodge job tbh. I was under the impression I had been sent all I needed to fit them and then discovered otherwise. Needed to get the van back together quick so went with some sealant I had kicking about!
Love your videos, helped me so much. Thanks :) Noticed you've sprayed your front air vent covers. How do you do them? I've searched every where and cant find anything
@andypolfers the side ones would obviously be the same to spray. To disconnect them you need to prise off the side trim at each end of the dash using a plastic trim tool. Each vent is held in with a T25 torx screw at the back of the vent, then they pull out quite easily. Then you can spray them. Fitting is reverse of removal.
no worries matey , I've just made this channel yesterday because we brought a t5.1 on Saturday. we are converting it into a camper. so I will be making videos of the mods we do to it and things like that. first video of the van will be up soon as this mod is completed. could you please subscribe it would mean so much to me 😊
Great vid straight in no messing around job done
Thanks 👌🏼😎🚐

I usually use plastic trim removal tools, was being lazy, they were in the house!! lol
I thought you would have done, I just know the mess I've made over the years lol
Thanks! This will help me a lot when I'm changing mine for some Focal ones :) Going to try and modify the original tweet-holders so i can fit the new ones..
Sounds like a plan!

Hi good vid was just wondering why you bonded the speakers on and did not rivet them. Is this what the kits says to do? Like the look of this kit.

Like the wheels. What are they?

Sorry mate, bot too sure. Try contact Skipton Car Audio. They'll likely be able to provide you with a modified loom for the job!
Oh thanks but I’ve done it, but tricky and cut arms lol but fantastic sound and glad I did it 👍
mastic?? why not rivet them back in?

Anti vibration pads should be stuck to the inside of the outer door panel

How do I get a power cable to run my amp from the engine bay to the cab
Through the rubber grommet located behind the battery tray on the bulkhead 👌🏼
Hi can you remember how much you paid for the kit?
Sorry I can't, was a while back now. I remember it was a special offer Skipton had advertised on a Facebook T5 forum. Give them a call, I'm sure they'll hook you up with a deal 👊🏼

What year is your van?
That one was a 55 plate (late 2005)
