She captured America's heart and memories. Most versatile and gifted child star ever. A National Treasure. There will never be another like her. Thank you Shirley Temple Black for all the joy and pleasure you gave us. Rest in peace.
Shirley Temple was very talented. She touched the hearts of so many. Shirley Temple is so missed by all. She will never be forgotten. May Shirley Temple Black rest in peace.
Temple's song and dance sequences were always instant happy-food. There could never be enough celebration of her contribution to the art and entertainment of the 20th century!
Wow, if this doesn't make you feel American, I don't know what will, aside from Patriotic songs of course! ;) I grew up with her movies, I mean they were on TV in the 60's and 70's too now, and LOVED watching them on a B&W TV, all comfy in my "jammies" under a blanket, on the weekend, no school (I wasn't into many cartoons!) !!! LOL :)
Freaking BRAVO…the post video/audio editing on this is a work of Art. What a perfect 70’s song to sync all those clips to. ST was an absolutely Bad A_s in her day. And some one posted why she didn’t stay in the movie industry after she grew up. It was hard for many men to watch her on screen as an adult because of them seeing her as the cute innocent charming little kid for so many years. Ronald Reagan said he hated kissing her in a movie as an adult cause it freaked him out due to his perception of America’s little sweetheart image. So basically she became a very attractive young adult and Hollywood just didn’t know how to transition her from that little girl image. There is a side by side pic somewhere online of Marlylin Monroe and Shirley Temple when they were both in there teens or early 20’s and they almost looked like twins. And 20 century Fox already had MM under contract I believe in the late 40’s.
Love this compilation and she was definitely THE Dancing Queen. I did miss hearing the tapping sound of hers and the other's shoes, but it's very much a fitting song for her. Does anybody know if that was Mickey Rooney dancing in some of those numbers with her? Whoever it was, he could cut a rug man!
I think that was Dickie Moore but it was from the movie Miss Annie Rooney (Shirley played Annie Rooney)...they were cuttin a rug I wish I could dance like that! Ha!
To all the idiots who’ve said ST had a _”horrific childhood” 😂 _ and that _”thankfully, she got out of show business as a kid,”_ you not only don’t know what the heck you’re talking about, but there ought to be a jail sentence for promulgating lies!! You realize saying that makes her mother out to be a monster, when in fact Shirley’s mother was Mary Poppins practically perfect in every way. If you knew Gertrude Temple, you’d understand how Shirley, and her two older brothers, came to be. Shirley was the quintessential happy child. She did what she begged her mother to allow her to do from the age of three! Shirley was a natural diplomat, as evidenced by her long career as an ambassador . That’s after her television show, _Shirley Temple's Storybook (1958-1961)._ Shirley’s diplomatic career began in 1974 when she was named ambassador to Ghana by President Gerald Ford. Later, Shirley became the first woman to be named Chief of Protocol of the United States! ST was also Ambassador to Czechoslovakia from 1989 to 1992. Temple divorced John Agar in 1949 and married Charles Alden Black the following year at the ripe age of 22. She met him in Hawaii while she was vacationing with her family to _recover_ after ending her marriage to Agar. Black was the only man who didn’t know who she was and had never see any of her films. He fell instantly in love with Shirley. They were married for 55 years until his death in 2005. Shirley had a daughter with John Agar and a son and daughter with Charles Black. Shirley was the first woman to go public over having breast cancer. She lived to 85 years. Six more years after this interview. Shirley Jane Temple Black is my hero! ❤

Блестяще! Талантлива, ослепительна. Имхо, она была бы куда лучшей Дороти, чем Гарленд с выпученными глазами и бюстом второго размера.
