Absolutely jaw dropping! Thanks for sharing. Ive never seen 80% of those out in the wild.
It is a mind-blowing collection, for sure!
Very nice acquisition, Lance! So many great titles! Enjoy your time listening to those superb records. I’m just over in Pasadena. I’m the original owner of The Record Mission record store in downtown Ontario on Euclid Ave. You may or may not remember us. Unfortunately the store closed down a few years ago. Two weeks ago I started digging through a storage locker of 50,000+ records, a couple collections my business partner picked up recently. I’ve had two digs so far. On my first dig I pulled a pristine Count Basie (Warhol cover) RCA Victor LP out of there and some other NM Basie LP titles on Clef and early Epic. Second dig I pulled the first three albums by 24-7 Spyz, two of them sealed! I’ve only gone through 1200 records so far. I’ve got a long way to go. I’m recording my digs on my channel. Check em out! I just subscribed to your channel. I’m a big jazz head. I’ll be interested to know when you start selling pieces of this amazing jazz collection. Congratulations!
~Steve
Thanks for the info, Steve! I’ll check out your channel ASAP! Stoked to see what you dig up too!
Amazing collection! I will be in LA in late May so I hope you still have some left so spend all the time you need with them, lol. Been enjoying the channel, keep it going. Killer records!
Thanks! Please stop by and introduce yourself! 🍻
You will make out just fine here especially with the condition on the Blue Notes alone. I wish I was out West when all that dead stock of Nimbus West turned up in Arizona. The Morgan is killer.
Thanks for your feedback. We had some Nimbus West stock a while back too. Mind-altering stuff!
Hi from New Zealand. Great Jazz collection you have there. I like John Coltrane , and his wife Alice too. My favorite jazz musician is trumpeter Chet Baker. I like his vocals too. Your long hair is how I had mine in the mid 1970s. Same length. Now that I'm in my mid sixties, I don't have much of it anymore, and it's grey in colour. We can't stop the aging process. Good video thanks from Carl.
Thanks for watching and for your comment, Carl! I love alll of those artists too! With age comes wisdom!
Impressive purchase, and getting to know how you roll, I'm sure you took care of the seller ! Impulse ! Blue Note ... beautiful 🎵
The seller was rewarded handsomely, of course. Thanks for watching!
I like your style. Many times, buyers do low ball, and I remember you made it clear that you take care of guys when the records are good. And of course, with enough wiggle room to run a business.
I’m a big fan of the ‘everybody wins’ approach and I’m all about the Golden Rule.
Pharoahe Sanders "you've got to have freedom". Love that song (along with a love supreme, sun ra, ornette coleman, etc). i'm an old punk head but a long time ago i posted that song on fb back when i wasn't so against "social" media lol and it made two old metalhead friends say it was too harsh for their ears; that they couldn't take it. i took a strange pride in them feeling that way about this jazz song i love so much LOL.
like the non slickness in your delivery, tho i know that may go away with time and on camera fluency. gonna try to make the dan spencer show on friday. i'll be driving an extra thirty minutes for a total hour and a half drive in order to skip seeing him at house of blues anaheim in order to see him in a much cooler spot. as soon as i saw your low ceilings i knew i couldn't go to fkin hob LOL
you should check out old african funk, rock, hi-life, and soukous. some of it is very psychadelic. frank gossner used to have a website where he'd put out free mixes of super rare records he'd save from bombed out buildings in africa. he retired from all that, no website anymore, but i think you can still find "frank's voodoo funk" on soundcloud.
Right on! Thats what I’m talking about!
Absolutely Fantastic Jazz collection!! Amazing condition on all from what I can see! You could never walk away from a collection like this as it's worth every dollar you paid for it and More!!
That’s what I thought too! Thanks for your vote of confidence.
Wow. I want that one and that one and that one and… did you pay $56k
Not quite $56k, but 5 figures. Let’s talk Jazz the next time you’re in. Got some good Psych on deck as well! 😵💫
Thats an unbelievable collection of Jazz and looks in Terrific Grades. Well done to you and the Vid .
Thank you kindly! It was a lucky buy.
‘Journey into nigritia’ has one of those covers where you know it’s a great record
