This has been the most helpful series by far. My rating has improved nearly 500 points and my accuracy scores have consistently hit around 90%. You're a gifted teacher! Thanks!
I hope you’re getting the numbers for these, because they are superb. Real chess explained well. And your attention to threats is 100% what I need more of in my game. So, thank you. And please keep doing them.
I’m a big fan of your videos! I totally appreciate that you telling us your thought processes; pros and cons of different moves and tactics. Very calm and gracious. Thanks!
1000s don't know openings well they just don't instantly get a completely losing position, which is not even in the same realm as knowing an opening well💀
10:36 have you considered playing b5 first, kicking the knight that was defending the bishop? Then if you play Qe4, you can counter f3 by just taking the bishop with the queen. And the only knight move that seems to defend against the tactic is Nd2, but then that blocks the rook and you can just take the bishop, I believe.
Hmm. Yeah it looks like he missed that. 10 minute chess games are WAY too fast for me. He thinks 10x faster than I do and still gets pressured into making quick decisions.
You are a top level teacher Nelson. Your videos are very informative, best I’ve found by a long way. You describe every move brilliantly and really put your thoughts out there for all of us to benefit from. This is an exceptional series. Do you do any tutoring at all? These lessons are great and I am learning a lot but I would like a framework to work to. The speed at which you calculate is very impressive and your knowledge of tactics is also exceptional, i would love to learn the principles of how to reach this level as currently I’m a long way from it to say the least.
The video basically came out 8 months ago, which might be a little late, but the idea is still alive, I find these vids are so good and underrated as well!
You saying that the first game the player played really weird that’s literally just the 1000 level that’s where I’m at and I learn all these openings and the main lines and stuff but my opponents never ever play the main lines they play all these weird sidelines which aren’t always losing but they are particularly good either
Am I wrong, that at 9:47 the opponent could have generated a three-way fork with his knight, and that he didn’t take advantage of it for some reason? 🤔
i assume the sert8121 guy was trying to defend the one pawn with the queen. i didn't see anything weird about the move other than the effort spent trying to defend it
love your videos but watching you play these lower rated players doesnt really help because they make really bad moves. It would help to see games with good opponenents.

Love this series so much. Thanks man I no lie jumped from around 750 to 1050 roughly just since you started these videos. Subbed

Nelson has such a nice vibe, a calm and clear way of explaining his though process. Good learning as well as a pleasant one. Thank You!!

Glad you like them!
As someone who ranges anywhere from 700-900 depending on the week, this series is teaching me a lot.
im like 1900 rating and this vid is still very helpful and enjoyable
I am not the best but watching your videos I have gone from 500 elo to 700 in a week so happy. Thanks for the content😊
I went from 500 to 600
I went from 700 to 400
Seems that after 1000, everyone has an opening which he/she knows well
I agree I once was rated above 1000 and one player played the grenade variant in the Larsen attack, and I got squashed! 🤷♂️
I am 1700 but I don't know any opening well. I just develop my pieces normally.
@@RapidRecallShortSame, I’m almost 1500 and I play any move that seems right.
1000s don't know openings well they just don't instantly get a completely losing position, which is not even in the same realm as knowing an opening well💀
@@RapidRecallShortyou guys probably have a different idea of what it meant to truly know an opening well
The main difference between watching you and GothamChess is that when I watch you I feel smart
lol yeah, cause he sees everything and points it out. and then when we go play - we don't
"Maybe white had some idea. I have no idea what it was."
Me everytime I play chess.
10:47 Nelson didn't consider ...d3 and ... e4, and the h8-a1 diagonal is Black's.
This is the best series u have done so far. I love it. I'm anticipating when u get to 1200-1500 so that I can learn more. Keep up the good work.

22:49 you made a slight miscalculation. if you go Qc6 threatening Qxh1, then if white responds BxN, you respond QxR and Qa4+ is countered by Qc6,

After months of watching this rating climb I finally leveled up in elo 400 -570
Hey Nelson, its my bday tomorrow and i got the next 2 days off. I would love an hour long video either of the next 2 days! Thanks for vids and tips
i love nelson and his energy
Am I wrong, that at 9:47 the opponent could have generated a three-way fork with his knight, and that he didn’t take advantage of it for some reason? 🤔
Uhhhh pawns exist y’know…
10:58 I was thinking of pawn to D3 instead of rook to e8
Thanks for the great videos!!!

#29:17 I'd make a knight with check and take the bishop and slowly make him resign :D
play the Caro-Kann
Anytime they don’t capture on d5 and instead push e5 becomes uncomfortable
Is there still a winstreak or was there a loss somewhere along these series already?
I watched since the beginning. There were some close calls but no loses yet.
I liked how different the second game was. Shame they hung the rook, was a tough game.
Can you do some cora kon openings at 1000 rating. I know I spelled it wrong
Can you play the vienna
I am stuck in 1200 elo how to improve game & rating I practice daily but stuck in same rating 😢 but my puzzle rating is 2260+

Why the shorter videos now?
Asked too soon.

Use the Caro kann
Mantap 👍
go back to the longer videos please 🙃
my brother this video is 30 minutes long
@@noobdemolisher777 I know, he used to do 45-1 hour long videos which is just more content 😁 It's an enjoyable series that I'd want to see more of.
its pirc not prk
Hey Nelson can I send you a chess opening for you to explain, I’m wondering how do you defend against the grenade variant in the Larsen attack.

Pirc - you pronounce c as zz in pizza. You pronounce i as i in Pizza.

can i get pinned
Yes pls
No, you can't
I get pinned every time I play LOL
Chess Vibes makes it look easy. Usually I just lose the piece
