are all the A340`s and A330`s retired then, that was quick I only found out they were getting rid of them about a year ago
They still use 3 A330 flights but for like special flights once a month or something and one of the a340 was sent to the Qatari Amiri Flight Fleet, The rest got retired.

For now it's all 777 and A380 until the 787-10 in 2022. Will be interesting to see
The ones that will be retired in 2017 are the 777-300 that will go to Cathay Pacific. I guess also the last 777-200 they are flying to Pakistan due to bad runways is going to be retired soon as well

how is it good for the enviroment by buying more and more planes. The scrapped ones are just dumped in nevada or arizona stay there forever
well Emirates will order 150 triple 777x I can't wait because it's much better then the a350 so it was cancelled by emeraraties but emeraraties knows a better airplane like the 777x dash 8 and the 777x dash 9.
Kamel Shahin lol you don't even know how to spell Emirates and Emirates never ordered 10 777x, they ordered 115 777x. The have also used most of Airbus's planes from A300, A330 and A340 to A380 but for Boeing just 777 cause boeing suck! Emirates will also be ordering A350 again.

Having a fleet of only 2 types of aircraft is pretty stupid IMO. When I was a bit younger I wanted to be a pilot for Emirates, but looks like then I'd only be able to fly 2 types of aircraft! so hell no! xD
It's actually pretty clever as it streamlines their whole structure, e.g. training programs, maintenance, crew compatibility etc.
It's not like you would fly 2 types at the same time (in an airline it's pretty rare, if not unheard of??), in addition getting on new types within an airline can actually take a while anyway it's not just a matter of "oh i'm sick of the 777 I want to fly the 787 now". You have to wait on that seniority list boi!

+Liam Peters I agree with you, but still, it'd definitely be cooler to have hopes of flying much cooler stuff as you progress as a pilot. Say for example, if I join Lufthansa as a first officer for an A320, and as I gain more experience, I'll be able to fly lots of aircraft in my career, like the 747-8, and my personal favourite A380-800. With Emirates you're stuck with only 777s and A380s, so it kinda reduces the excitement IMO

I love both aeroplanes and the service is great on Emirates. However the 10 abreast seating on the 777-300ER is poor plus very narrow. Qatar offers a much wider 9 abreast seating on the 777-300ER.
Flugzeug Dokus yes unfortunately it is pretty usual, but for long haul not acceptable. At least some airlines still use a 9 abreast on the 777. Emirates should do that too!

Yes, and by faaaaaar. Today Emirates has over 115 A380s, Singapore airlines Is the second airline with the most A380s, but they only have like 12 of them. Emirates owns about half of all A380s In the world, if not more.
