it is interesting and useful lesson. thanks. Can you explain the difference between "Dia sedang duduk di atas kerusi." and "Dia sedang duduk atas kerusi (without di)"
The particle 'di' is needed before a preposition of place in a formal and official context like in exam,. literature and etc..but, colloquially, conversationally we hardly use this. You could study them in my latest video - Preposition of place. Hope that helps. 😊
I’m so grateful for your work! Terima kasih! I have a simple question to ask. What’s the meaning of “ke” at the end of “Dia dah bangun ke?” It seems my Malay dictionary is not helpful in deciding the meaning of “ke.” 😢
Thank you for learning Malay. 'ke' when used at the end of a question in spoken Malay functions just like a question mark and normally is used in a close ended question. For eg. Nama dia Zarina ke? - Is her name Zarina? And to answer that with a Yes or No. or 'Dia dah bangun ke?' and to answer that either with Dah / Belum. Dah here means Yes, already and Belum means Not yet.
Wa alaikumussalam..thank you for following the channel! If you want to learn Malay fast, 1- you need to practise speaking the language 2- try finding friends to converse or surround yourself with Malay speaking people 3- know what you need, don't study everything but find vocabularies or phrases that you need and use them immediately... Hope that helps!
