I owned the first version of the Tamron 24-70mm, and felt that it did quite well on the cameras I owned at the time - The Canon 80D and Canon R. However, I suspect the MP count on the R7 would reveal every flaw (The Tamron went away for the purchase of the RF 24-70mm f/2.8.).
@@MattRamseyTube It's the one that most often on my R7 and new R6 mk II. Love it! However, the original EF one was built like a tank and took a fall or two. I'm pretty sure that the RF could not handle that.
It must be a copy variance thing. I shot with this lens for a bit back in the day on the 5DIV and it took some cracking shots. Sharpness was never an issue. Slower autofocus though…
It is a used lens (I think in the video I said used camera but I meant lens) so it’s possibly not in top-top shape or a bad copy; I also wonder if the lens just doesn’t resolve 33 MP in the APS-C area-it takes some pretty precise optics to pull off that trick
The Nikkor 43-86mm zoom f/3.5 AI was the worst lens I have ever used. It was too slow, not wide enough, and had poor image quality. Back in the 1970s, it was the first zoom lens I purchased. It was so bad that it soured me to zoom lenses for decades.
I can confirm my Canon L series zooms have been fantastic, and both copies of the G2 version of this lens I’ve owned have been pretty good too! This one, not so much 👎
I like and support the way you express yourself in the video and I'm also doing it in Asia.

I bet you're loving that new lens!

@@speecher1959 Interesting insight, I'll keep that in mind if I ever plunge into RF.
