Those 2D sprites were on point. If the artists from the recent DBZ Budokai series could do the characters, (maybe the cell shading, but I like how you have it with picturesque backgrounds) we will have an absolute far and away, winner.

So, this I don't remember cost sorry, I remember this I think $80 Chrono Trigger snes and PSX was $40 added movies and alt-end. I have always wanted to see a well-detailed, 3D remake of CT since childhood! This is really cool! I always imagined it to be more similar to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which at the time didn't exist, but when I saw BOTW, _that_ was like what I imagined in my head all these years for CT. This is beyond any doubt a great remake. Combining 3D with 2D, or 2.5 D, is epic. I really hope Square Enix will make such a remake for this game and release it on PC Steam, PS4 and XBOX ONE.

Most of these aren't public information, but will be when development reaches a certain point. Been this way for decades. Just keep waiting, asking politely, and voting with your wallet.

rickonami If they were to do a *new* mobile version of this game, this is how it would look, it has a lot of similarities to the Final Fantasy 5 and 6 remasters, but unlike the Final Fantasy 6 mobile version which betrayed the aesthetic of the original SNES version, this goes well with the Chrono Trigger style.

I was a bit more of a jerk back then. I took another look at them, and I think my problem was they had this "blobby" sort of look. Like instead of making them all nice and HD, you all tried to keep them as true to the original low-frame animation and low-pixel imagery as you could.
While the sprites need work... the world/backgrounds/etc looked amazing and held true to the originals... here...have ALL MY LIKES!! Thank you for making me shed a few tears of glorious nostalgia for one of the greatest RPG's I ever played.
Efforts like this just go to show how beloved Chrono Trigger is even 18 years after its release. I know Square-Enix's behavior is deeply frustrating, but we must keep the flame alive regardless. Chrono Trigger is a story that will endure well beyond the lifespan of Square-Enix, so people should take heart in that.
I started watching hoping this didn't get screwed up because Chrono Trigger is my 2nd favorite title on the SNES of all time.. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed at all. Keep up the amazing work !
Watching this gave me chills. Brought back a flood of memories from when I was a kid. I'm looking at my SNES cartridge that I (actually my brother got it signed) got signed by Nobou Uematsu and I'm so tempted to just do it all again from scratch...but I won't. I have the same save file from when my best friend and I were 13 and played through it. I turn 31 in 4 weeks.

@@leonoliveira8652 Develoment time. What you don't see is how much is going on behind the curtains. Square Enix has several teams each working on a wide variety of projects at any one time. Most of these aren't public information, but will be when development reaches a certain point. Been this way for decades. Just keep waiting, asking politely, and voting with your wallet.

This seriously almost made me cry T^T Chrono Trigger is my absolute FAVORITE game ever and you really did such a great job. If there ever was a remake I'd want it to be like this! the slight 3D effect while still keeping the original 2D-esque feel. LOVE THIS so much and I'm sharing it with my other CT-lover friends!
ive seen alot of remakes and especially music remakes, finally somebody got the music right! nice one!
im glad i got to play these games, because people today have no idea what we had in terms of games, even if it was remade ii doubt anyone would get it like we did the first time around. same goes for ff7. im sure it will be good but no like we had it.
See, now that's how you make a remake for a game, just a little polish on the 2d characters and nobody won't be able to say anything bad about it.

You know, this is how the steam re-release of chrono trigger should've been (with better sprites of course). But nooo. Instead, Square Enix lazily ported the mobile version to steam just so they can say the "we heard, and we care about our loyal fans request" to fans of the game

Very nice! I love the reflection in the glass of the epoch at the end. The sprites don’t look too bad either. I’d pay to play a Chrono Trigger that looks like this.

Chrono Trigger is a game that deserves to have a sequel to it in PS4. It is one of the greatest video games of all time and one of the best rpg's in history.

rickonami If they were to do a *new* mobile version of this game, this is how it would look, it has a lot of similarities to the Final Fantasy 5 and 6 remasters, but unlike the Final Fantasy 6 mobile version which betrayed the aesthetic of the original SNES version, this goes well with the Chrono Trigger style.
I wish i hadn't seen this. Now i wan't this as a game. This is how chrono trigger remake should look. Amazing work.

B r a n d o n Actually the 2D sprite are made by another 2D artist. I just added them in the animation sequence.
I was a bit more of a jerk back then. I took another look at them, and I think my problem was they had this "blobby" sort of look. Like instead of making them all nice and HD, you all tried to keep them as true to the original low-frame animation and low-pixel imagery as you could.
Well, I guess that’s an apology.

Efforts like this just go to show how beloved Chrono Trigger is even 18 years after its release. I know Square-Enix's behavior is deeply frustrating, but we must keep the flame alive regardless. Chrono Trigger is a story that will endure well beyond the lifespan of Square-Enix, so people should take heart in that.
I started watching hoping this didn't get screwed up because Chrono Trigger is my 2nd favorite title on the SNES of all time.. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed at all. Keep up the amazing work !
Watching this gave me chills. Brought back a flood of memories from when I was a kid. I'm looking at my SNES cartridge that I (actually my brother got it signed) got signed by Nobou Uematsu and I'm so tempted to just do it all again from scratch...but I won't. I have the same save file from when my best friend and I were 13 and played through it. I turn 31 in 4 weeks.
