Well I have got to say that this purchase was worth it. I did figure out a way to use it with my pc as a controller while using it with my ipad for fx control. The expression pedal does send MIDI CC out as well as the two extra expression connections. So using a USB to MIDI I/O cable from my pc to the Stomp I/O, I connected two extra amp clicker boxes to the extra expression connections. These transmit CC messages out of the MIDI out on the Stomp I/O to my pc as well as the Stomp I/O's expression pedal. BOOM! Got control to my PC Amplitube as well as my ipad version. A few caveats. #1 The four main stomp buttons do not transmit MIDI CC's while in ipad mode. They only control the ipad Amplitube. #2 The Stomp I/O expression controls both the ipad Amplitube as well as the pc Amplitube. Just FYI, the MIDI in on the Stomp I/O will let you send MIDI messages in to your ipad for control from your pc/mac. It is amazing. Once again IK Multimedia have made a great, fun, easy to use product. Thank you IK!! Only one request. An ASIO Driver for Windows. ASIO 4 ALL works good but a dedicated driver would be better.
IK's Emulation is reaaalllllly good, love this new concept - nice to get it out of Logic or your DAW and into reality and of course - gregs playing is face-meltingly good!!

Those are palm harmonics or palm mute harmonics. The technique was used by numerous guitarists, but people tend to associate it with Eddie Van Halen frequently.

So this stomp i/o is the only footswitch compatible with my Irig hd2 - iPhone setup? I thought I found a footswitch that gave a little wah simulator and activation/switch before this came out. Anyone familiar with that?
The iRig BlueBoard is another great foot switch. iRig HD 2 is an audio interface however, so I'm not sure what you mean by the only foot switch compatible. I did about 3 years ago not really understanding the entire Amplitube 4.. it's taken me a couple years of really messing with it (which is part of the fun), but now looking to getting this and some monitors for those days I don't want to use headphones and be able to change between settings without stopping..:) but the tones are incredible.
me too! ran my iRig pro into an old 60s Gibson amp for FX from the iPad. sounded fantastic! i just put up the iRig for sale to buy this one for gigging. no worrying about a pedal board for a while.
A dream amp room... ! IK does a lot of great stuff. SampleTank has the best drum sounds there are. Only thing is I can't quantize the drum track by playing them from GarageBand through Audiobus :( It processes the track in audio only and not MIDI. If this was part of an upgrade in a future version, SampleTank would be the most awesome drum machine on iPad without a doubt !
He's using an iPad connected to iRig Stomp I/O www.irigstompio.com You can run the balanced outputs to a PA/mixer but not directly to a guitar cab. A guitar cab would actually color the sound further so a PA/mixer/power speaker with full range speaker(s) would give you the best tone.

Yes, a full range powered speaker will sound great with amp sim software that includes speaker cabinet simulation.
