September 15th 1989 the day my mom took me to buy ny first skateboard. Tony hawk claw white version. Independent trucks and speed ball wheels and German bearings. That cost her over $180 back then. Equivalent to $600 now
I remember getting the Bones Ripper deck with all the the works…my mom worked at a huge bike /skate store here on Long Island. In fact she still works there into her 70’s…😂
Totally off topic but I just don’t understand why people ride PSA so much. Their whole credibility is a mess lately but IMO Beckett slabs just look SO GOOD! I love collecting BGS slabbed cards lol
PSA is the standard. Hard to drive people away from the standard, especially since it dictates a lot of the pricing in the market. But collectors should buy what they like. If you like Beckett, buy Beckett, if you like PSA, buy em, if you like raw, buy them. I personally buy everything.
@@Baker549 it’s the standard NOW because of the hype and previous sales of big cards. But Beckett used to be the standard for pricing and values. I think it’s a generational thing but I just think PSA is shady, there’s no consistency or transparency or explanation with their grading and it seems like nobody can explain how this persons card gets a 10 but this one’s card gets an 8. Just my opinion but you’re absolutely right, buy what you like at the end of the day 🤙
@@devonfelix5943 PSA has been around for over 30 years. I am not a big fan of the company myself, but it was still a factor and popular even before Covid.
