- When I need to clear my theologian brain (and I am not a theologian) I listen to Alistair Begg. He seems to have got grace to portray Jesus Christ as Saviour - so even a child can understand the gospel. This 3 minutes clip is originally from a teaching called Amazing Grace on this website: www.truthforlife.org
The thief of the cross gives me assurance as a sinner who was dead but through Christ I may live
In Christ alone,my Hope is found, He is my light, my strength,my song. This cornerstone, this solid ground. Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. I couldn't earn it, I don't deserve it, in Christ alone I stand.
@louisielle5852 ❤ I don’t deserve it. I cry everyday and night. Swollen eyes crying. I cannot get past the thought of how heart broken God must be to lose his Son, for someone like me. He must cry everyday looking down on this world. If we all lived as Jesus did, this world would be such a BEAUTIFUL PLACE. Thank you for posting these words. I’ve written them down to help me. Sincerely
The thief did not go to heaven with Jesus. For when the resurrected Jesus returned the the 3rd day Mary ran to touch him. Remember? Jesus told her not to touch him because he had not yet ascended to heaven. Jesus took the thief to a detention area where he taught the other captive spirits the gospel as written by Peter during before 3rd day. Only the LDS church teaches the Bible correctly on this matter. Link UTube (Book of Abraham 7 polygamy) print exact words to get there
Pray a lot for me I was the victim of a lot of witchcraft and I have a lot of psychological problems depression anxiety etc I'm about to go crazy my name is André Gulherme and pray for my family and I'm suffering a lot with envy I need a lot of prayers and jenjum
thank you for doing this for me
@user-ld3bb9lr5e Yes, first, of all, are you connected to anyone who is a fault finding with you, making g you feel wrong or like a failure? Is any person criticizing you in a destructive way in the way of helping you? GETTING EVEN WITH YOU IF YOU DONT LET THEM CONTROL YOU? PUTTING you down in front of others or otherwise. If so, you will never get better until you get that person out of your life. That is how demons hold on to you.
The carpenter on earth is the same carpenter in heaven. A place prepared for us .Thanks be to God.
Many yrs ago I found Alastair on my local radio station. I listened every day on my way home from work.. I soaked up everything I could.. I'm so grateful for his ministry! One of the best!
Have I got this straight, you are only saved by faith? so a child rapist just has to have faith and repent and goes to heaven, but the 12-year-old girl he raped to death was an atheist she goes
to HELL FOR MORE PAIN? this is gods justice? yuck!
@@gknight4719 So instead you believe that there is no God and everyone just dies, turns to dirt and NEVER gets any justice at all? On top of that, while we live our lives they have absolutely no meaning because we are just a product of material accidents! And you think this is the better option to believe in?
Your problem is that you believe that you are good because you compare yourself to the r@pist, which you believe deserves no mercy or forgiveness from you or God. Your moral standard (which you steal from God) is skewed. You believe that a 12 old atheist is innocent when in fact they are guilty of rejecting God and His grace which IS the unforgiveable sin! It's a sin that stems from ultimate pride in one's own righteousness. God demands that we see ourselves for what we are, sinners, and run to Him for mercy and forgiveness. He promises to cleanse us and to make all things new. We leave the hypothetical r@pe stories for Him to figure out! Your job is NOT to try and disprove God with your self righteous hypothetical stories with stolen morals but to worry about your own sins and repent of them. God is only patient for so long.

@@MichaelTheophilus906 ok then, Jesus paid the price for his raping of children, and as long as he repents, after he dies off to heaven then.
now the 12-year-old child he raped to death was an atheist so when they died during this rape off to hell for them, have I got that correct?
@@MichaelTheophilus906 So when i read Mattwer ch 13/31 and John ch18/36
jesus clearly said you will be in paradise with me to the two thieves.
What's all that about then?
What a beautiful preaching moment get right to my heart. God bless you all whereever you are. Grettings from Uruguay ❤
Amen, remember me Jesus always in your kingdom. Only righteous by the blood of the lamb 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✝️✝️✝️🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh precious is the flow. That makes me white as snow. No other fount I know! Nothing but the blood of Jesus!😀
We contact the blood of Jesus when we repent and are baptized into Christ for the remission of sins - Acts 2:38
Ro 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Notice - the newness of life comes after baptism and not before - Acts 22:16
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
@@mauriceb53 In the context of this verse (Acts 22:16) Paul is recounting the story of how he came to faith in Christ. This verse is a retelling of Acts 9:18. Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus and accepted Him as Lord with the help of a Jesus-follower named Ananias. Ananias called Paul to MAKE HIS DECISION OFFICIAL PUBLICLY by being baptized in Jesus' name.
Also the thief on the cross was NEVER BAPTIZED before he died on his cross. But he was saved from hell by simple faith in Jesus Christ and was with Jesus in paradise after he died (Luke 23:39-43).
Water baptism is an act of obedience to Christ's command for every Christian for a public testimony of what has already taken place in the heart of that believer (i.e. born again salvation - john 3 - through simple faith in Jesus Christ). Baptism is not a work to be saved (i.e. I have to do this!). We are saved by faith, and not of selves. Salvation is a gift from God to us, not of works, and was paid in full by His Son Dying on the cross and raised on the third day (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Some new Christians, even today, never got, or ever will get, the opportunity of water baptism before they died. Should the blood of Christ not be applied to wash away their sins because of this? Especially those who were and are under physical persecution in countries like Iran, China, India, etc.

Yes, It's so true. Thank You, Lord Jesus🙏❤.
Without Jesus walking out of that tomb, We are doomed...
I love all of allistars sermons over the year's there many
I’ve been exposed to so much mixed messages, but God is faithful to lead me this far, always depending on Jesus to guide me. I thank God for Alistair Begg, for his love of God and his honesty. I pray God hold fast to this man!❤
After 54 years of ministry it is so refreshing to find, in this day and era, a man with a true confession of faith. A real confession to which every living being, preachers alike, must say Amen, I agree. That is me too. 😊
We are ALL Sinners Saved by Gods Grace! 😊❤

Yes! I am Saved! But I reason..if God Saves me..He certainly going to Save others and if He is a God of Unconditional Love that would mean everyone..eventually!
Nothing in my hands I bring simply to your cross I cling❤
I have been listening to Alistair for years on the radio. I had a much different vision of him, as I have with many people I only knew through the radio. However, as soon as I hear his voice, I know who it is, and I listen. This verse helps me to speak with people who say you must be baptized by water to be saved. I think it boils down to the concept that we can do nothing to earn our salvation, lest we boast about it. I don't think baptism by water is wrong, either. It just isn't required for salvation. We are baptized through The Holy Spirit, by faith, alone.
That's fr. I was picturing a red headed, slimmer younger man w a short beard and short hair
I know that Jesus wants every one of us to be with Him for eternity.
Amen indeed.... My proclamation always. To Him I cling to… my savior.
Whom I’m nothing without. Jesus’ Grace alone… my sin, and my faith alone.
Thanks be to God.
Thank you Jesus Christ for saving me
Alistair Begg. Definitely a good one 👍
"No one is Good but God alone." St. Mark 10:18
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, thank you Jesus
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you Lord
Thank you so much for citing where the full video can be found!
Ah, what beautiful words of truth and rescue!
I so love this! ❤
Amen, and this is one of the greatest Bible truths ever, Isiah 61:10 He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness.
Amen
Wise words - only in the Cross of Christ, only in His Cross.
Yes, Lord Jesus, Amen. Praise God for Your grace.
Wow...missing the warm and fuzzy with that last remark! ! Bold and True.
The thief on the cross is God telling man just believe in me and I will give you eternal life.
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
We must also repent and be baptized. Acts 2:38 We cannot be saved by faith alone - Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. The works here are not works of merit but works of faith - Galatians 5:6
By grace are you saved, it is the gift of God not of works so no one can boast.@@mauriceb53
@@mauriceb53my goodness just stop it’s already done. You’re not rightly dividing the word of truth. You just can’t let God clean you up you have to add in your own efforts.
“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
John 6:37
"Today I say to you, you will be with Me, when I shall come in My Kingdom."
I believe in Jesus he is my Savior
Simple as it sounds, I've always said, the hardest thing for a man to do is nothing. Thanksgiving is all we can bring.
Amen. Blessings.
The thief on the cross that
Jesus
eternally blessed was our example of faith, which encouraged Jesus to finish the chosen work.
The ( true message ) of the Grace of God unlike the churches of days gone by which have become all about the ( numbers ) & ( works based ) self righteousness

Even the thief on the cross knew jesus was god. Isiah 43:10>11kjv. Luke 23:39>40kjv
Augustus Montague Toplady wrote a great poem.
I was just thinking, some shorter clips might be helpful. Sometimes it's hard to pay attention to a sermon for 30 minutes... 👍
😊
Big thanks to Alistair Begg, he has change my life, I'm now financial free. Is anyone here that needs a part time job? I want to give out to those who needs financial assistant
May I kindly ask you to show me what you learned? Thank you!

The theif on the cross had faith, he believed, he repented, and he was justified by works when he defended Jesus.
Scripture tells us so:
The Book of James ch 2
"You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without works is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead."
Wrong Galatians 6:1
It took days for someone to die on the cross. This didn’t apply to Jesus, because he was already mortally wounded from the horrific beating he received. Yet Jesus used the word “today” you will be in paradise. Normally the man would’ve suffered for two or three days. My point is, that even at deaths door, he knew they were coming to break the legs of the other two men. Which the Romans seldom did, if ever. Long agonizing deaths were their preference.
"I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise...." or... "I tell you today, you will be with Me in Paradise..." There is no punctuation in the original Greek, so somewhere along the line, a translator or theologian or scribe or somebody had to decide on the phraseology of Christ's statement of assurance to the thief. I know the former has the most popular acceptance among mainstream Christian theologians, and is by far the most often preached/quoted. However, the fact remains that even Christ did not ascend to "Paradise" on Crucifixion Friday, or the following Sabbath Day, or even on Resurrection Sunday. John 20:17, the words of Jesus to Mary: "Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to My Father." I choose to accept the latter version of the statement. It is just as assuring as the former version; almost as if Christ is saying, "I'm telling you this right now, before we both die; you WILL be with Me in Paradise." Just a thought.
Good food for thought, here are some others: The Lazarus died and was in Abraham's bosom while the rich man was in torment. That would indicate that within Sheol not everyone was in the same place. In other words, paradise is not heaven. Paul also plainly stated that to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord. Specifically, this is after Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension. In revelation the prayers of the martyrs rise before the throne, with the saints asking God when he will avenge their blood on the earth and He tells them to rest yet a little while more until the fullness of their number comes in.
@@TommyNitro i appreciate your reference to lazarus, 'cause that brings another interesting point to light. if lazarus, after his death, truly went anywhere else other than being a dead body in a grave, then bringing him back to a sinful world in a sinful human body would have been a rather cruel act on the part of Jesus. to me, this verifies that after death, our human bodies remain exactly wherever they are placed or remain, awaiting the resurrection; and no part of our existence continues--anywhere--until that time.
side note: the lazarus in the parable you reference is generally accepted to not be the same lazarus that was the brother of mary and martha that Jesus raised from the dead. in the original greek, the man in the parable was not referenced by a direct name. it was added at some point later as (possible) literary license, maybe due to some term of endearment used by Jesus that could have been (mis)understood as a reference to His good friend.
appreciate the discussion. be blessed.
