      Oh my I am slightly fangirling right now haha! Your channel not only inspired me but also really helped me get my AP job! So thank you. Thank you for the nicest comment and thank you for the amazing content that you put out.
      I know so many other people must feel the frustration I felt and I just want people to know that it IS normal. (even though crying on the internet is scary)

    Hey Sharon, your ability to be transparent really helped me in so many ways. After coming across your channel whilst preparing for a Trainee PWP interview, this was the first video I clicked on, I loved following your journey and super happy you ended up getting the job you wanted! Your videos helped me so much in the interview process to be myself and REFLECTIVE lol, just knowing about scoring and the logistics behind it all helped me prepare so differently this time and I got the job!! Keep doing what you're doing, you're amazing!

    Hats off to you! This is raw unfiltered emotion and a reflection of what it is truly like on this arduous journey of securing a AP post ! Have an interview soon and per chance typed in AP interview tips when your video came up. Everything you have said is spot on @ good luck with your search. 🙂

    Thank you for such a brilliant, refreshing, and vulnerable video. I wish there were more people like you making them. I'm training in Art Psychotherapy so your 'how to' was meaningful and spot-on. Thanks again.

    Hi Sharon! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, you are completely right there are not enough tips out there on this! I found your channel a few months back and it made me feel more confident to apply to AP jobs which would really be ideal for my career path but having constantly heard how competitive they were was disheartening. Today, had an interview and watched some of your videos as last minute prep tips (knew you would deliver some good stuff) and I was later offered the post! Thanks so much, proof that you are helping people 🥰

    Hi Sharon, bless you for your transparency❣️ One (probably silly) question I had is, what is MDT? You mentioned it with supervision and said that it's something usually asked in AP interviews x x

    • @SharonB
      @SharonB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Not a silly question at all, MDT stands for multidisciplinary team :) x

    This is so late but I think AP interviews are madly infuriating. I know someone who had 2 interviews - in the first she was perhaps nervous and help her answers short, but was told that she needed to expand. In the second she elaborated and was told to be more succinct. I think it really depends on the ClinPsy who is marking you and if they liked the answers. All in all, a multitude of variables goes into play for how well you do in an interview.

    • @SharonB
      @SharonB  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interviews are very frustrating and like you said it really depends on who is on the panel. That's why it's so important to just keep trying until you find the job and team that fits you best!

    This is amazing, you did great to even get selected for an interview. Prob a silly question but what’s MDT stand for?

    Hi Sharon, wishing you all the best. I'm also applying to Ap posts but I'm not getting interview at all and I have experience as an honorary assistant psych. I have watched you application video but still struggling with getting an interview. What tips could you give me. Also, for each job do you write a paragraph why you want to work with that cliental group. I'm really on the edge of giving up I know how you feel.

    • @SharonB
      @SharonB  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey! Firstly do not give up! If you just keep trying then you'll get that interview eventually even if it does take months like it did for me. I think the biggest difference between my applications that did get an interview and the one's that didn't was that I highlighted how specific experiences in my previous roles had given me the attributes listed in their person spec if that makes sense? I would only write a sentence or two about why I want to work with that group to keep it concise. I'm thinking of making a video about my tips for writing supporting info if that would be helpful?

    Hey sharon! I'm studying psychology at uni and wanted to know if you did a masters degree before applying for AP job? Any tips for work experience? Keep going and don't give up!

    • @SharonB
      @SharonB  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey hey! Nope I did not do a masters, I really needed a break from uni and plus you don't actually need to do one to get onto the doctorate or an AP job. So for work experience any kind of care work is useful and if you can working as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist is AMAZING experience!

    • @lmaggs1996
      @lmaggs1996 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would personally add that a masters degree is not required for most doctorate courses, but some require extensive research experience that you can only get from a masters/research assistant post, so I would research on the courses you actually want to apply to!
