I’m from detroit and I’ve been working security at the old train station. And this weekend they’ve finally opened it to the public. They had a big concert featuring Diana Ross, jelly roll and big Sean and it’s been a wonderful experience and the neighborhood and businesses in the location are top notch! Great job Mr. Ford!
Driving from Windsor into Detroit across the Ambassador Bridge, this building looked haunted yet simultaneously beautiful. Thank you Mr. Ford for having a vision and to the workers who made it come true.
But like many companies it could be classified as a zombie company. Lots of debt on its balance sheet.Certainly Stellantis is on the door step, even Toyota tons of debt . Who knows the next major downturn could tumble a lot of companies.
Bill Ford bought the building in 2018 and poured almost $1 billion into it, dreaming of EVs and Mobility. It'll be a community center next year and hope they keep the lights on and cut the grass.
This is the best. I am so grateful for this. I truly am. Thank you, Ford! Why do they continue to ask all these redundant questions, though. geez. Always trying to be a downer on a very spectacular day for our city. I'm not posting this interview.
ALL of the Detroit automakers should be rebuilding Detroit and not running from it. What Ford has done is a drop in the bucket but could serve as a catalyst for continued revitalization. I'm not that optimistic but still hopeful.
I can't count the number of times I've driven by that decrepit old structure and wondered (sometimes aloud), "When are they going to demolish that old relic?" Now I can't wait to get back to Motown and check out its new incarnation!
Thee Adverserial queries were written by....! Seriously though ! Sleepy NEEDS to Bankroll AMTRAK BACK to Michigan Central asap ! They use Portables for a Station NOW !
There might be a chance... four of the ten station platforms were retained by Ford. There are rumours that Ford is talking with Amtrak about resuming services there.
Better than giving some over price boys a place to play football or basketball. Oh and when they despise their playground isn’t nice enough leave town or demand a new playground.
Yes, it’s run down. I like the low traffic. I love the diamond in the rough. Please don’t gentrify the city and bring Californians and New Yorkers to the D…..I love my affortable home prices and my normal flow of traffic….crime will be considered wonderful in 2024 if compared to what the influx of Californians ad New Yorkers will bring to the D….
It's still going to take many decades to bring Detroit back to pre 1970s. And sorry Nate the Lions are still a joke because they still haven't won a championship or Superbowl since the Eisenhower administration. Until they do nobody is going to take the Lions seriously

Building up instead of tearing down. What a concept.
Definitely would be a lot cheaper to renovate rather than tear that massive structure down, or build a new office building elsewhere
Absolutely Beautiful Station. Thank you Bill Ford!!!
Very nice. I miss working at Ford. I actually miss Detroit. I lived in Royal Oak. I worked for Al Giombetti and Daryl Hazel.
Thanks Ford, for this outstanding work.
It's great to see Motown regaining its luster.
Didn't need a bail out back in 2008 and investing back into its hometown. WAY TO GO FORD!

Great shots of the outside ..
Hopefully they will modernize the rail system and we will have visitors from all over.
Welcome! to the Decade of Detroit!
So where will Detroiters be able to catch fast frequent trains?? The city really needs that.
Restoring this magnificent building is far better than building another cold cookie cutter glass and steel sky scraper.
Thank you Mr Ford
Woo hoo Detroit!! Go Lions! 🎉🎉🎉
Sheila Ford-Hamp with the turnaround!
Go who?? The Lions haven't won anything since the Eisenhower administration lol
@@m42037 someone doesn't follow the team

It's a beautiful train station. But the airport is named after a famous Ford executive. But the station's just out of sight gorgeous!
Is he related to Henry Ford?
Will High Speed Rail pass through there, or nearby?

YOU MEAN THANK THE POOR DETROIT TAX PAYERS WHO GAVE HIM 30 MILLION IN TAX BREAKS. THIS BUILDING DOES NOTHING FOR DETROITERS ON FOR THE GENTERFIERS!

Gayle King acts like she invented an opinion. Yeah right
Great, they can use it as A Migrant Welcome Center !
Sorry, but this will contain Ford offices, a hotel and some retail spaces.
You just had to be the one🙄
