The Orlando Magic are the best team in the NBA that no one is really talking about. They're coming off a 47 win season where they took the Cavs to a tough 7 games in the first round. With the addition of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the growth of several young players like Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner the Magic have potential to be legit title contenders going into next season. Absolutely
They may contend for the top seed.
Top 4 seed in the East but not yet contenders. Magic fans are realistic and not delusional like other team fans. ECF is our ceiling but in Paolo’s 4th-5th season you can say contenders by that time
Possibly. They play very well against the Celtics, and are only getting better. If they beat Cavs in game 7, it would have been interesting. KCP is a great edition. Great 🏆 experience, great defense, great shooting. This team will be a defensive MONSTER. They were already great tbh

Let's hope the world can see this team more next year. It was an injustice the number of times they were on national television last season.
They probably didn’t get much attention because of all those years of missing the playoffs. But I agree. Hopefully when the schedule gets released they get more nationally televised games.
Small market teams always get overlooked
Paolo has only had one nationally televised game which is extremely rare for a 1st overall pick (average is around 8 games in rookie year) much less a player who won rookie of the year and was an all star in their 2nd year.
The one time they played on National Tv besides the last couple playoff games.

Jett, AB, and Tristan showed they are ready to contribute to an already talented roster. Going to be interesting how the rotations shake out. They are legit 14 deep.
I watch every game such a die hard and have not abandoned my team. I cry thinking about that day when we win it all for the first time.

i just hope orlando will get the upgrades they need so they dont waste banchero and wagner time being here. it killed me when the shaq left because orlando wanted to be cheap and when stan van gundys teram went down. 1 thing with our magic they dont get that star that they needs to get to next level. we have a nice young team just hope the devos does the right thing because in the past they wanted to be cheap and u cant win a championship being cheap just look at the last 10 years of championship none of them were cheap

as an magic fan my whole life, i have seen the magic with trash seasons, and the season before paolo was drafted i could tell this was the magics next come up
I’m a Knicks fan so I know all about rooting for trash teams 😭 I think the Magic will eventually be contenders depending on how quickly the young players develop.

Fifty wins and up is likely but the conference is tight and other teams improved too. Fourth seed is very possible but the Celtics don't look vulnerable so I'm not sure anyone else in the east is a title contender.

Everybody is sleeping hard on Orlando and what they have going on and I've never seen a #1 Pick like Banchero who has gone completely under the radar with what he's done already.

It comes down to 3% tbh. I'm less concerned about shooting and making more then I am with shooting the same amount just making more. I ran the numbers one time and we are actually a much better team the less 3's we take. Had something like a 65% W% when we made above league avg 3%. But we werent that good of a team when we MADE more because we didnt necessarily shoot a great % and ended up taking more.

Not to mention, Tristan will take Ingles minutes, AB will take Fultz' minutes, and Jett can piece in here and there just like Caleb Houstan last season. I would imagine that AB and Tristan have some clear pathway for minutes this upcoming season. Jett and Caleb Houstan are going to have to fight for their roles. Looking at it long term, I don't think we keep both Jett and Caleb.

"Legit Title Contender" is an elite level reach. Franz is too inconsistent. Guard play is not strong enough. Orlando benefitted from an enormous amount of injuries throughout the conference. Boston, NY, Philly, Milwaukee... top 4. Indiana gets a full year of Pascal, Cleveland is still there. So like last year they'll be competing for 5-7 which isn't "the biggest Surprise next season"

It seems like the Magic have an entire team composed of the same player - above average height, defense, ability to hit 3's. They went into the offseason looking to add a real PG and C...instead they added more of the same. I guess Suggs will be the starting PG who just hands it off to Franz? WCJ and Goga handling C with Issacs getting major minutes off the bench at other positions would be great, but how long will WCJ and Issacs last?
