Hey- Im the guy with the electronics and drums in this Video. the sample you are asking about is from a house compilation i can't remember the name of right now. I'ts been 15 years...
So, considering this is 13 years old, I realize this is a long shot. But oh well. I remember watching this performance back in1997, and I could have sworn the backup singer (Christina?) played the theremin at one point. Am I crazy, or getting two things mixed up?
The sample is Cassa De X (Deep Dish does X) - Elastic Reality, great tune and great performance! th-cam.com/video/LZO-RZiU13Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rmlqqB13nQNWHBZf
I was at the filming of this. A friend had won tickets through a radio station. For everyone who asked, we were told explicitly to stay in our seats. This was the last song of the show and as you can see, those of us in the back rows couldn't stay in our seats. There are videos of the entire show, I'll never forget it, it was a once in a lifetime event.
+Ben Hughes How fortunate! I saw Talking Heads when they were on tour doing Stop Making Sense in the early 80s. Unforgettable as well. THE best concert I've ever attended.
I wish this whole concert was available on DVD, I saw it on PBS and was blown away, what a great sound !! I saw Heads at CBGB's a number of times before they got famous and although they were technically a bit rough they really stood out from all the other crap bands that played there. I remember giving David some tips on keeping his guitar in tune and he was very receptive, a class guy & a super talent. One of the few who deserves his status in my book.
His last singer sure is a free spirit. She moves and dances around. She looks like she is having a great time! Some just stay in the back and do nothing. I danced around myself!✌❤🎆
The exquisite Girl is Christina Wheeler. Vocalist and electronic artist. Formerly located in New York and a member of David Byrne's band. She worked with Lou Reed, Balanescu Quartet and lot of artists... Now she is in L.A. soundcloud.com/christina-wheeler/
I saw this tour in Seattle at Bumpershoot. The female singer was crazy energetic - bouncing across the stage at points. It was quite a treat to see live.
wow, thanks for posting this. i saw this on WPBS when it was originally broadcast and have searched for it since and haven't found until now. this was a great show to watch.
No mention of the singer/dancer.....who is she? Talent, talent and more talent....even if I were BLIND.....talent. And barely cracks a sweat. Never missing a beat. AMAZING. Byrne spots talent.....but this one didn't just drop in his lap. Wonder what her name is and what she is doing now in 2012.
To see David, the athlete, perform this in that fire suit is just so good. He is obviously in great shape, remembers to set up for the jumping-in-between-guitar-riffs, after dancing to the extreme. The only downside to this video is the response of the audience. Good God people. This is the David Byrne Rapture!
I've loved this set of "Session" ever since it first aired on my local PBS station. Totally mesmerizing from beginning to end. Who are the bassist and the female vocals?
I'm sorry but if your feet aren't moving within 30 seconds of hearing this, you're a lost cause. Just offer yourself up to science or something already.

Nice! I saw the Stop Making Sense show also (at UVA), we are lucky to have experienced that historic tour.
Fucking WOW Ben! I recorded this right off the RV (VHS/VCR) and wore it out for months! You are so lucky! David the wieido genius!
You forgot to capitalize once in a lifetime, lost pun opportunity.
@@richfaircloth1464 lol
He was like 45 here, insane how fit he is. And still is when you watch American Utopia. One of the greatest frontmen of all time
Watching David Byrne dance makes me so happy !! : )
Me too ❤❤
This song tottally changed my perspective on music back in 79, still luv this ❤️
That the audience is SEATED , while the infectious mayhem is making their spines tingle , is almost sadistic .
I wish this whole concert was available on DVD, I saw it on PBS and was blown away, what a great sound !!

This concert rocked my world. David Byrne is an outstanding artist.
My cat is named Zimbra. This is such a cat song.

My cat is also named Zimbra! I just adopted her 3 weeks ago.
The band was on fire.
this was filmed in HD but davids outfits broke the camera lens

I can't beleave it is possible to like david byrne more than I already did but it just goes to show you evan the best can get better :-)
Dang I LOVE this. Trillion times better sounds than the original recordings, even though I listen to the originals constantly too.
Byrne is way bigger than his music. He is also a series of outfits.
Byrne rules. Forget Sheen. Byrne is the definition of "Winning".
best musician and showman around today
Byrne on FIRE!
It is against the geneva convention to stick and audience around DB and not let them dance.
haha - read my comment above .we're in total agreement. That audience must've felt chained , not be able to move with the grooves.
wow, thanks for posting this. i saw this on WPBS when it was originally broadcast and have searched for it since and haven't found until now. this was a great show to watch.
Excellent
virgen santísima, este hombre es un genio!!
