Incredible game. A love letter to old school design. No hand holding, intricate level design, high player agency and respect. It's the antithesis of modern mainstream open world third person generic gaming, and I'm so grateful that it exists. Bravo, Night Dive. (But please fix the melee weapons and add mod support!!)
I love the game but "intricate level design" is very much a euphemism for "we had to run on a 386 and wanted to make a dungeon crawler in space" xD
@@nurbsivonsirup1416Dungeon crawler with smart AI and survival horror elements. Original version looks awful this is much needed. This version will be able to be enjoyed for decades now and it looks beautiful compared to its original. This is what a remake should be.
I played this back in the mid-90s and it was stunning then. I bought the new remake as soon as I saw it. I've played a bit and I am thrilled with it. Brings back the old fun of my youth.
Night dive has slowly become one of my favorite studios. ❤
It's crazy that I didn't even know this existed until yesterday. I hope it comes to consoles soon!

Imagine waiting years for it to come just for them to say 15 days before release that the console versions aren't coming yet AND they don't know when. I literally had my calendar set and didn't even know about the exclusion of console releases because, like you showed by not knowing it existed, they have done a TERRIBLE job at marketing this game. I am glad how telling they have been. The game looks like a Fortnite cartoon eye sore and it's def a skip for me. The devs lack of transparency is so telling.

This is a really interesting list. I knew nothing about System Shock but it sounds so good, I'll have to try it out when the remake comes out
Also never new of this franchise until the remake, but from experience, the remake is a masterclass in immersive sims
The only thing to know: it's amazing
At about 7 minutes in, you missed the "battle hogs" poster which is a clear nod to the actually extremely difficult battle toads videogame. I don't blame you, you may not have even been around back then.
I'd imagine it's more an homage to the GamePig system from System Shock 2 and just a generic game title. But that's just me guessing.
Besides that, screw that game! Could never get past the flying robot snakes!
