Mannnnnn, this shoalie is FAST! I have no confidence issues at all. It is not a very dry ride in wind driven waves. The bow is bulbous and i get hit with a lot of spray. But as long as it is not cold and gear is stowed properly (saltwater rust) it isn't an issue. Thanks for watching my guy!!!
Sound side of OBX? I would recommend a kayak or boat. Few land areas but it is possible! Wade out at the day use areas at dawn and you stand a chance. If you are in a yak, small topwaters EARLY catch specks. Get some Nikko paddle tails (Winnow95) and rig texposed. I have a video dropping in the AM from there again, you would like it. Pinfish are bad right now and will eat anything you put out so keep that in mind. Pea Island, Avon, Frisco on the sound side are good for inshore kayak fishing.
Nice video, nice fish! I just got home on Monday from a week in Buxton as I do almost every year. Made my first real attempt at saltwater fishing using shrimp and mullet, Beach side daytime (no luck at all) Sound side evening/night 1 baby puppy Drum and 2 little bluegill lookin things with yellow stripes. Kayak fishing in the wind certainly does suck, but not as bad with my OT 120 PDL pedal drive. (Which has not and never will see saltwater) You need to spend under $100 on some Midland 2-way radios man, best thing ever when fishing with other people spread apart by land or water, really long range.
correct. I have not pulled the trigger because I need marine VHF and GFRS. that will push me past $100 but, perhaps I should just start somewhere rather than not starting. lol I like the PDLs. FishtalesRVA and GoneFishing804 have them.... I don't like the weight tho. Fast and they crush me in saltwater... but I like the versatility of paddle. :) Thanks for coming by the channel!
Dude this was a really, really exciting video to watch! Awesome work! 🔥
Thanks Brad! I wasn't lucky enough to get one again this year. But next year is on!!!!

I love when you go for a ride on a kayak! Awesome fish! How did you like the shoalie on flat water aside from the wind?

Blackened for me! I met some of the guys from ZMan lures at iCast. They are from S. Carolina and don't like the taste of Redfish!!! I was shocked!
That net wasn't big enough! 😂
