The famous music critique Subbudu in his review of Voleti garu's concert in Music Academy - Dec 86 described his thodi to the rapids of the river ganges - free flowing, unobstructed sweet music. He sang the same kriti in that concert too Dasarathe, both Nedunuri garu and Voleti garu have sung numerous times.... perhaps one of their fav amongst the thodi raga.
He is perhaps the One and Only musician who can delienate a raga in a flat 10 mins which other musicians will take half hour. The Other musician of yesteryears was Sri Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar / Ramnad Krishnan - crisp and imaginative!
Firstly i don't think the violinist is Lalgudi. It's not even anyone from his bani ..like GJR. Secondly the said place is not an apaswara..it's a recording issue with the tapes
