Your floral design is a work of art, wow! I love your idea of using a lazy Susan to make the process flow so smoothly. Thank you for the tip! 💐

Nice visit with you on you tube today during morning coffee. How do you grow your heirloom mums? from plugs or seed?

Awe miss having you on this side of the country Janet! Coffee time is the best time and I’m honored you shared that special time with us!
We grow our mums from cuttings. These varieties came from King Mums. They open sales for cuttings early January and set your clock- they sell out super FAST! But they are worth it, we’ve been able to winter over our mums but we’ve also lifted the plants and stored to take cuttings from in spring.

Gorgeous! Any tips on the ornamental kale - mine was super wimpy this fall. I have not tried sweet peas in the fall - what month do you plant out to get flowers or do the spring plants rebloom for you?

Not sure how or when you started your ornamental kale but we start them in late June and planted them out late July. We have them 4x7” spacing. If your kale was wimpy maybe giving them more space? Were the transplants happy before planting out? We also have all our crops on drips with low flow so they get deep watering 1-2 times a day in the heat of summer.
With sweet peas this year we had cut back our patch in early July and they came back nicely once the weather started cooling down. We also had them in an area they got some afternoon shade. Starting from fresh seed, find a cooler location in your patch preferably with shade from the heat of the day and direct sow in June. Thank you for reaching out, happy growing!
