I couldn't agree more. I loved the piano, for me it fits perfectly. However I totally accept other opinions, even if I don't understand it. And honestly, there is no right and no wrong. It's art, not math :)

That is Mr Matt Kaminski! He's the stadium organist for the Atlanta Braves. He also has a few jazz albums. Great musician, and I'm glad to see him working with Puddles!
That's one of the weirdest B3 sounds I've ever heard. And I'm a jazz musician - I've heard a lot of weird sounds, lol. But then again, it perfectly fits the lyrics and the general mood of this song. Bravo, for taking the risk! You're the best. Btw, I liked the swing version at the end also ❤
Yeah, I think the TH-cam sound compression distorted it somehow. It sounded like the mid was really hallow and only hard notes came through, so the beginning had a little bit of a Latin beat to my ear. Yes, the swing sounded pretty good and I would love to hear it dirtied up with an antique mic and running it through a couple of vacuum tubes (they are not valves, equating electricity to water flow does not work for AC and amplification). I think a blues version would sound less upbeat than the swing, but still have the swing eight notes and the bouncing beat, just slower and more inline with the song's lyrics.
JFK, a 50$ mic? Are you kidding? I've seen Puddles use only the best mics, like a Neumann U87, a Lewitt (made in my hometown Vienna, yeah) and several small condenser mics for overheads etc. I'm sure the Puddles team used a great mic for the organ. I'm not sure if they miked a Leslie cabinet or went straight to the desk. Anyways, the sound is wanted that way and sounds weird but great.

I used to repair Hammond organs and watching the organist work the draw bars was such a treat. I truly enjoy watching Puddles' videos. He has become one of my heros. Right up there with Tortelvis and Richard Cheese.

Your playing here changes moods like a gem whose colors fluctuate as it is examined, it's hard to pin down and define but try we must. I keep thinking I understand it but then I question myself and all the uncertainty makes the listening experience deliciously...creepy. In the best of ways. I LOVE that organ and that Halloween flair you put into the song!! The organ sound punctuates your drama in the lyrics making it EXTRA crispy creepy. Its eerie power complements the spooky, ghost-like sound. One of my most favorite songs is your performance in “When I’m Down”, with said organ. I just bath in that organ playing along with the emotional vocals and performance. Whether or not folks like the organ or not, “THAT ORGAN” and it’s mastery by Matthew Kaminski, are seriously great stuff. Both are unique, well-suited and skilled for making that “Creepy”, emotional sound. I have to add… my grandfather lived nearby and played the organ often throughout my childhood. He kept five little grand kids entertained by his side at the keyboard instead of running amok through the house. The organ brings back memories. We also visited Dodger Stadium often and enjoyed hearing the sometimes loud and bone rattling stadium organ. I wish more people could hear a live organ played really well. P.S. This is actually the first time I heard the song. Since then, I have heard the original and a couple other covers. This one beats them all. And yes, the organ definitely adds to it.
there is really a lot going on, if someone is just not liking it after one listen their loss. i'm not going to say love it, but certainly appreciate it. i got to figure out what the organ guy is doing, its some serious next level haunted mansion music.
I personally don't get all this critic on the pianist. I loved him! I adore contrast like this one, I really do. Puddles voice was so amazing (like always of course) and so... well not really creepy but since I'm not a native speaker I have no other word for it. But creepy in a really, really good way, like... wow! Wow describes the song the best bc it was just so damn good! Both, the singer and the pianist. Even if I'm one of the few who loves this contrast between them, I'm willing to take this risk. Love&hugs!!

I've got to comment. I've only recently discovered your channel, and admittedly it was by pure accident. I have a weird background leading to appreciation of vocal talent. I've worked as an emcee in adult bars on and off my entire adult life screaming my guts out to crowds of up to 1500 guys, met and maintained friendships with multiple rock stars I met doing that, ect. But the biggest influence is growing up with and working with some very big name Southern Gospel quartets in my youth, so hearing trained four part harmony groups really opened my "understanding" of vocals. You reek of someone vocally trained in the way you place your breaths as well as using your diaphragm to vocalize from. If that is the case, that was money and time well spent, sir. If not, then as much as I enjoy your VERY strong voice and original act...they don't hold a candle to the actual raw and natural talent you have. Thank you for sharing.

That B3 & Leslie brings back some good times. In 1976 I bought a B3 & Leslie from a home in Los Angeles. The B3 belonged to an old couple who were the original owners. The machine was in absolute Pristine Perfect condition, well maintained and it was recently tuned up by a Pro. My cost? $2800. Unfortunately, I had to sell it in 1985 because I was in the US Army (Blackhawk Pilot) and was being assigned to Augsburg Germany. I sold it to a wonderful CHurch in Temple Texas. I too like this fella's style of Playing.
Puddles. This is hard for me to articulate so bear with. I... am super picky with any zombie film/concept. There have been so many spoofs, so much half arsed commercial milking, that I don't take them seriously now unless they are juuuust so. The same applies for clowns. I didn't watch the original IT, and I have never had that fashionable "fear" of clowns. I just look at it as a job. A money grab. As is everything in this sh*tty day and age. But you are different. There may be other clowns that are as genuine as you out there, and no discredit to them, but I haven't discovered for myself them yet. To me personally you capture the presence and intrigue of what I think a clown is meant to be. I believe it includes somewhat of a true jester as well, and you then support it with a genuinely shocking talent, not cliche attempts at tricks anyone can attempt to learn with repetition (someone's going to argue singing is this, so I'll wait for their song covers, which will obviously be as powerful as yours), not making do as a party/childrens entertainer. You have a... depth to your performance that doesn't feel false. It doesn't feel commercial. It feels like you've tried this as a hobby at some point, but it suited you perfectly and now you have that passion that is so pleasing to see. Which I enjoy more than even the best belting voice and control on its own. *I am very tired and if I had read anyone else saying all this I'd snort into my cornflakes in a most derogatory and ssarcastic manner, but I meant every word.*

First, what a wonderful collaboration between you (Puddles) and Matthew: I'm always awed by how you make every song uniquely yours. Second, I love you encouraging everyone to be "excellent" to one another. Most ppl seek some form of perfection, searching for the one thing that makes them acceptable, loved, wanted and sometimes revered by others. But it's our imperfections that makes us each unique. In truth, I dare say we all have inner scars, granted some are much deeper and more severe than others. However, if we embrace these scars, rising above their pain, we gain strength and slowly learn to love ourselves. I was mentally and physically abused throughout my childhood and even at times after that. I think this particular song always resonated with me because of the abuse. You, dear Puddles, in this rendition have touched me, resurrecting my inner child who I buried in the dark recesses of my soul because it's often too painful to recall those years even now. You my friend are a blessing to soooooo many ppl. I pray that you never stop spreading your beautiful God-given gift. ccea thank you kindly...... I never knew of Puddles aka Big Mike Geier until I saw him on AGT and I totally fell in love with him. Normally I don't watch AGT and it surely was karma that brought me there that first particular night when I saw Puddles........ needless to say I was pulling for Puddles and was very sad to see him go. However, I did "connect" with the Puddles Pity Party persona and set out to see the face behind the grease paint and was pleasantly surprised when I found Big Mike Geier. I'm a firm believer that some ppl cross our paths for a purpose and I believe I crossed paths with Puddles for a reason. My sister and I have plans to go see Puddles in person next year when he's in our area. We like not too far from two venues he visits, one in Raleigh and the other in Asheville, NC. I'm a poet (and fortunate enough to have been published a few times), and Puddles inspired a poem I wrote and shared on one TH-cam song although I'm sure he's not seen it. That's one of the weirdest B3 sounds I've ever heard. And I'm a jazz musician - I've heard a lot of weird sounds, lol. But then again, it perfectly fits the lyrics and the general mood of this song. Bravo, for taking the risk! You're the best. Btw, I liked the swing version at the end also ❤
Yeah, I think the TH-cam sound compression distorted it somehow. It sounded like the mid was really hallow and only hard notes came through, so the beginning had a little bit of a Latin beat to my ear. Yes, the swing sounded pretty good and I would love to hear it dirtied up with an antique mic and running it through a couple of vacuum tubes (they are not valves, equating electricity to water flow does not work for AC and amplification). I think a blues version would sound less upbeat than the swing, but still have the swing eight notes and the bouncing beat, just slower and more inline with the song's lyrics.

JFK, a 50$ mic? Are you kidding? I've seen Puddles use only the best mics, like a Neumann U87, a Lewitt (made in my hometown Vienna, yeah) and several small condenser mics for overheads etc. I'm sure the Puddles team used a great mic for the organ. I'm not sure if they miked a Leslie cabinet or went straight to the desk. Anyways, the sound is wanted that way and sounds weird but great.

Matthew Kaminski I've been reading these comments and worrying about you. Thanks for taking the ride! I love P & his buddies' think-outside-the-box-ing and this tricky treat is a perfect example. Your playing here changes moods like a gem whose colors fluctuate as it is examined, it's hard to pin down and define but try we must. I keep thinking I understand it but then I question myself and all the uncertainty makes the listening experience deliciously...creepy. In the best of ways. Who knew it'd be so passionately debated, right? I'm gonna keep working at it by racking up the view count, and hey, thanks, I like it lots and am cheering both of you on.

"Creep" as a ball park tango is sheer genius.
I LOVE that organ and that Halloween flair you put into the song!! The organ sound punctuates your drama in the lyrics making it EXTRA crispy creepy. Its eerie power complements the spooky, ghost-like sound.
One of my most favorite songs is your performance in “When I’m Down”, with said organ. I just bath in that organ playing along with the emotional vocals and performance. Whether or not folks like the organ or not, “THAT ORGAN” and it’s mastery by Matthew Kaminski, are seriously great stuff. Both are unique, well-suited and skilled for making that “Creepy”, emotional sound.
I have to add… my grandfather lived nearby and played the organ often throughout my childhood. He kept five little grand kids entertained by his side at the keyboard instead of running amok through the house. The organ brings back memories. We also visited Dodger Stadium often and enjoyed hearing the sometimes loud and bone rattling stadium organ. I wish more people could hear a live organ played really well.

I personally don't get all this critic on the pianist. I loved him! I adore contrast like this one, I really do. Puddles voice was so amazing (like always of course) and so... well not really creepy but since I'm not a native speaker I have no other word for it. But creepy in a really, really good way, like... wow! Wow describes the song the best bc it was just so damn good! Both, the singer and the pianist. Even if I'm one of the few who loves this contrast between them, I'm willing to take this risk. Love&hugs!!

I've only recently discovered your channel, and admittedly it was by pure accident. I have a weird background leading to appreciation of vocal talent. I've worked as an emcee in adult bars on and off my entire adult life screaming my guts out to crowds of up to 1500 guys, met and maintained friendships with multiple rock stars I met doing that, ect. But the biggest influence is growing up with and working with some very big name Southern Gospel quartets in my youth, so hearing trained four part harmony groups really opened my "understanding" of vocals.
You reek of someone vocally trained in the way you place your breaths as well as using your diaphragm to vocalize from. If that is the case, that was money and time well spent, sir. If not, then as much as I enjoy your VERY strong voice and original act...they don't hold a candle to the actual raw and natural talent you have.

I've noticed that singers develop unique moves when they are lost in their music - Jagger chicken struts, Tina shimmies, Bono surfs, Joe Cocker writhed and spasmed (oh, how I miss him!) - and you have the wonderful hula thing happening with the rise and fall of the melody. That B3 & Leslie brings back some good times. In 1976 I bought a B3 & Leslie from a home in Los Angeles. The B3 belonged to an old couple who were the original owners. The machine was in absolute Pristine Perfect condition, well maintained and it was recently tuned up by a Pro. My cost? $2800. Unfortunately, I had to sell it in 1985 because I was in the US Army (Blackhawk Pilot) and was being assigned to Augsburg Germany. I sold it to a wonderful CHurch in Temple Texas. I too like this fella's style of Playing.

I... am super picky with any zombie film/concept.
There have been so many spoofs, so much half arsed commercial milking,
that I don't take them seriously now unless they are juuuust so.
The same applies for clowns.
I didn't watch the original IT, and I have never had that fashionable "fear" of clowns.
I just look at it as a job.
A money grab.
As is everything in this sh*tty day and age.
But you are different.
There may be other clowns that are as genuine as you out there, and no discredit to them, but I haven't discovered for myself them yet.
To me personally you capture the presence and intrigue of what I think a clown is meant to be.
I believe it includes somewhat of a true jester as well, and you then support it with a genuinely shocking talent, not cliche attempts at tricks anyone can attempt to learn with repetition (someone's going to argue singing is this, so I'll wait for their song covers, which will obviously be as powerful as yours), not making do as a party/childrens entertainer.
You have a... depth to your performance that doesn't feel false. It doesn't feel commercial.
It feels like you've tried this as a hobby at some point, but it suited you perfectly and now you have that passion that is so pleasing to see.
Which I enjoy more than even the best belting voice and control on its own.

First, what a wonderful collaboration between you (Puddles) and Matthew: I'm always awed by how you make every song uniquely yours. Second, I love you encouraging everyone to be "excellent" to one another. Most ppl seek some form of perfection, searching for the one thing that makes them acceptable, loved, wanted and sometimes revered by others. But it's our imperfections that makes us each unique. In truth, I dare say we all have inner scars, granted some are much deeper and more severe than others. However, if we embrace these scars, rising above their pain, we gain strength and slowly learn to love ourselves. I was mentally and physically abused throughout my childhood and even at times after that. I think this particular song always resonated with me because of the abuse. You, dear Puddles, in this rendition have touched me, resurrecting my inner child who I buried in the dark recesses of my soul because it's often too painful to recall those years even now. You my friend are a blessing to soooooo many ppl. I pray that you never stop spreading your beautiful God-given gift. ccea thank you kindly...... I never knew of Puddles aka Big Mike Geier until I saw him on AGT and I totally fell in love with him. Normally I don't watch AGT and it surely was karma that brought me there that first particular night when I saw Puddles........ needless to say I was pulling for Puddles and was very sad to see him go. However, I did "connect" with the Puddles Pity Party persona and set out to see the face behind the grease paint and was pleasantly surprised when I found Big Mike Geier. I'm a firm believer that some ppl cross our paths for a purpose and I believe I crossed paths with Puddles for a reason. My sister and I have plans to go see Puddles in person next year when he's in our area. We like not too far from two venues he visits, one in Raleigh and the other in Asheville, NC. I'm a poet (and fortunate enough to have been published a few times), and Puddles inspired a poem I wrote and shared on one TH-cam song although I'm sure he's not seen it.
