I think its a great way to get the kids out of there bedrooms and on to the bankside, i started my lad on a cheap whip at the age of 2 he's 5 now and addicted to all aspects of angling now, so well done on showing this method dan great vid looking forward to the next
cheers chris, the hard part is actually gettign them to the bank it seems, bailiffing waters times have really changed, canals are empty now and i winder where fishing is going in the next few decades. hopefully with a number of younger people watching vids it gets a few out there trying it. tight lines mate Danny

good enough for you and your uncle danny.how co incedental I was thiking of me getting my 5 meter whip out which I havent used for about 10 years and trying out this new club water ive joined on an end of season ticket.tried it out last week looking for a few perch but found it very shallow where I was.will be trying an other peg next time. very surprised as to every where being low on water down here in the midlands

@@DannysAnglingBlog not heard many reports. I've been meaning to fish it for years. Only fished opposite bank. I'm on Ribble tomorrow near Ribchester. Last weekend was dire. If I hear anything, will let you know.
Another great video Danny, you're an inspiration mate! Hoping to get out tomorrow and if I do I'll be trying this method. Water is a bit clearer now after some hard frosts and the fish are likely to see a pole and get spooked, this way they can't see anything but the float and bait.
hope your session went well.matey, thank you for the kinds comments if its any help i would mix my ground bait sloppy side to create a cloud if was clear, tight lines mate danny
@@DannysAnglingBlog Hi Danny, session was ok but I hadn't got a whip and used an old pole, it was a bit heavy so didn't stick at it too long. I ordered myself a new 5 mtr whip with a flick tip so will be trying again soon. I had some nice roach up to 6 oz and some small carp and rudd. I was using ground bait which was as you suggested fairly sloppy. Thanks for your advice. Tight Lines.
Cheers john, it can be hard on a channel where you an allrounder to please everyone as people come here off the back of varied videos, piking and silvers will always be the back bone of the channel. Variety is also good, back to piking next week :-)
Don't worry about pleasing everyone mate. I'm mainly predators but watch them all...I respect top anglers and your climbing up there... Keep doing what your doing and u will be fine. Tight lines as always matey
Fished the river this week on another length . Plenty of fish, casters sorted out the better fish . It's good as long as the cold keeps off . Your videos highlight natural fishing.
thank you ian, it can be a funny time autumn as it goes on the fish are in transition and on some rivers beginnjbg to migrate to winter haunts, this year seems like they are late moving on sat we fished for roach and by now nets have gone to 2lb from 20 but the fish where still there had 16lb unheard of in november there. tight lines mateu danny
fantastic video mate my dad recently bought me a whip I used it when I went fishing on Monday and caught a few roach hopefully going to use it again they can be a fantastic way of fishing mate
deffo ian, and can be quite devastating at times on some waters, you certainly wont get beat if you get fish going on the whip if in a match. away from that they are just great fun ;) hope you have a fab time tight lines mate danny
Dannys Angling Blog went yesterday caught over 50 fish and the river was down loads also had a big pike on about 15lb but it came off I did have more runs but caught one jack about 3 or 4lb mate
Nice one Danny great fun when you scale right down like that, brings me back to my early days or fishing as a young kid, didn’t have the money (or parents that understood the cost of fishing) for a pole , so got an old whip given to me from my dads work mate and converted it by putting elastic in it, had so much fun with that, used to fish matches with it and give the top boys a run for their money. Think all good anglers started like that, IMO everybody should learn the fundamentals of fishing as it reflects in all other types of fishing and makes you a better angler.
couldnt have put it better myself mate, learn on a canal and you can fish any where, if you can catch silvers and pike and carp from a canal you can catch them anywhere such are the fine lines you have to walk and harsh lessons learnt. always take sme back to being 4 on the canal with my dad when i fish the whip. Another great video. I've said before that I really enjoy listening to your thought process. Can't believe that over the years I've never actually tried the whip even though I know it ticks so many boxes for this type of fishing. 👍

@@DannysAnglingBlog i totally agree about the go pros Danny and i can see the difference with your videos. The thing is a lot of new viewers have a very short attention span and every video needs to tell its story. You cant just go straight to the good bits so its even more important to try and keep peoples interests with camera angles and views that help tell the story better. I see your channel almost like an angling resource, its full of great info for anyone who wants to learn about coarse fishing and I think you could probably build some type of coaching facility from it if that was a goal. I just like making videos about fishing and telling the stories of a beautiful day or amazing catch.
Great vid Dan ! Can't beat that for a few hours on a wip ! I can see this as an ideal way to introduce our new Grandson to fishing when he's old enough and his Dad who only gets to fish occasionally . I'd be interested to see your preferred method of attaching the line to the rod tip. I take it there's elastic involved as in pole fishing?
