As a side note, I’ve travelled the world, was a musician for over 30 years and can categorically say some of the best bands I’ve ever seen are from the Philippines……they are extremely talented people

It's pretty impressive how Byron Garcia had superbly remarkably transformed the prison system. So glad & pleased to see the way he treats each inmate individually. Watching these guys dancing is amazingly fascinating. Dancing is good for the soul & the mind. Overall, for the pysche. Mr. Garcia I commend you for the extraordinary job well done. You must be very proud of who you are. Keep up the good work, Sir. A legacy you will leave behind for people to remember & cherish you. I give my respect for all that have spiritual leanings in them. For them to know & believe that there is a God is remarkable. They all look happy with smiles in their faces made possible by Mr. Garcia. Thank you for sharing this video. It is worth watching for. It is interesting!

Thing is, if anyone even thought about doing anything to her they would be in a lot of trouble with the other prisoners. So there is really no need to worry for her now.

    There's a lot
to be said about the power of music and dance. My daughter is a 3rd grade reacher. Every morning before class begins, she plays a dance song and the kids dance to it. Daughter said it helps children feel good and sets them up for learning. Oftentimes children come to school feeling stressed i.e. about what's going on at home , etc.

I think this is an example to ALL prisons!! Not only is it great exercise, it’s FUN!! Music helps so much!! I disagree with his sister’s refusal of money from P&G for a commercial. It could have been used to IMPROVE prison conditions, FOOD, upkeep of the prisons, maybe paying guards more so they aren’t such easy targets for corruption!

I think this gentleman, Byron García, had the right idea by introducing to the inmates a therapy
of music and dancing that would help them tremendously. This therapy is definitely working out for each and everyone of them in a very positive way, so the inmates realize that they are worthy given a second chance, and that life is not about violence and crime but an opportunity to feel good about themselves to be redeemed and become a law abiding citizens. And it has worked so far as Mr. García said: the inmates’ behavior has definitely changed for the better.
Good for you Mr. García, good for you. Your therapy is working fine. Hats off to you on a job well done. Bravo bravo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌👍👍👍👍🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

In my opinion it’s GOOD for them to Dance in Prison! Lots of Good advantages! 1, their bodies are getting exercised and gets coordinated! 2 their minds gets busy and they ll get motivated for good ideas,,not bad ideas.they’ll get encouraged to do good and become better not bitter.when people starts admiring them for good dancing skills, they’ll be motivated to do good! And change for the better.if they know carpentry? They’ll thing of ideas to do a project and do it well! Dancing has lots of advantages,…thanks to those who think of this PROGRAM! …Seattle Washington,USA

This is a very clever method to minimize animosities among inmates, bring unity among them, boost their morales, and improve their health while enduring their time until they are released. Sana maging system-wide eto na gagawin.
Ayos talaga na na implement yung manga Biblical Precepts & Principles para ba ay ma inculcate ng maayos na character sa manga lahat na tao jan. Kasinga, "Righteousness exalts a Nacion, but inquity is a reproach to any people".

No, he's not a jail warden, he doesn't have any jail management background, according to him also. There's a system in jail management in the Philippines, a warden must be a police with an equivalent rank of colonel to general. He's appointed by his sister who's the governor of the province as a jail consultant. He just came up with the idea to make the PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY(PDL, prisoners) time worthy. By the way, we don't call the prisoners anymore, they're PDLs, to give them dignity even if they were convicted.

Although I haven't watched this video before but I know that, dance is also therapeutic, not just for the body, but for the brain, and when you add music, it actually becomes fun, to test your body, based on what you hear and I remember when I was stationed in Germany, I would go to the bar,and look for the GERMAN GIRLS,and when they played AMERICAN ROCK-N-ROLL,they would dance by themselves, so it gave me an opportunity to practice my dancing by myself, many moves I couldn't do, because they were to difficult, and you have to be strong physically,I call it MIND OVER MATTER,to push the boundaries, of limitations, very simple concept, except when you try, it's not easy.

Filipinos are very respectful. Seeing visitors they greeted them, but there's also a hint that they were ordered, whoever it is, as long as visitors or they will be punished. There's no problem with that, knowing them, I just think that these people will not greet others because of their situation.
