Wow. Definitely wasnt expecting you to react to this. But I'm sure glad you did.
He mostly means RnB and soul music, especially from the 90s. But yeah, black music is what African-American music is called in Japan.
There aren't English versions of his songs, just English translations to them that he did himself. Some songs have English in them and he's got one song that's written and sung completely in English but it was written as part of the soundtrack for something else and is unfortunately not officially released as part of his discography.
Dude speaks and writes English pretty darn good, and definitely sings it well. He might forget how to properly English sometimes when he's nervous and in front of an international crowd though, lol.
And you're absolutely right about the 1.5k dislikes.
