Sometimes you do need to. Gatekeepers aren't 100% reliable. You always need a backup plan. Also this guy isn't even completely human. He's like half demon AND he has a evil DID personality. In real life, this wouldn't really be a problem because a evil DID personality isn't gonna alter your DNA with superhuman powers. They would just act the same way every other evil person acts and would need to be stopped the same way every other evil person is stopped. Do you really think you don't NEED to stop this guy that literally wants to kill everyone????? Also also sometimes traumatized people ARE dangerous. You can't just say something isn't true because you don't like that it's true. There are literally as many traumatized people doing bad things as there are doing good things. It's not an opinion. When the kidnapper was fixing the ceiling of the room, clearly standing ontop of something and quite higher up than normal, it would've been very easy to knock him down. Humans can move surprisingly fast when we need to, even without much of a run-up. It would be very simple to shuffle a little further back without drawing attention, maybe by pretending that you're nervously pacing around, which is very believable in that situation. You can then very easily rush him, putting as much of your bodyweight as possible against his legs to throw him down. If he's caught off guard well enough, then you might knock him out or possibly even kill him immediately from the fall on what looks like a hard concrete floor. At worst case scenario for you, he takes the fall like he's some kind of ninja but is caught off guard, giving you the opportunity to attempt to double-team him. One person can hold his arm while the other attempts to wrench the drill out of his hands. Considering this guy's M.O. I think he would be hesitant to kill the girls immediately, which gives them an even greater advantage. Once one of them has the drill, the other can try to grapple and hold him while the other mercilessly drills at his head, neck, and chest, all of which should be easy enough to hit in a brawl. That could easily lead to him dying and them getting out. I think in most scenarios, it's very likely he would injure one or more of his limbs in the fall, or possibly even fall on his back or chest and get the wind knocked out of him. In that critical moment, he would either then be incredibly vulnerable as he recovers, and the girls should easily be able to pin him down, wrench the drill from his hands, and attack him. Even if he had locked them inside the room by some means, the door seems to be very clearly made of wooden planks, which the drill should easily be able to work through until they can unlock the door from the other side, even if the bit was damaged in the fight.

The first part where it shows all of the different people the guy is, it reminds me of different memes talking about how Johnny Sins is a doctor, a teacher, an astronaut, etc...
Attacking any of the personalities is the worst idea bc of how triggers like danger and potential danger can cause a person’s “strongest” or most violent personality to front
Actually, what a lot of these comments realize is that this is a survival mechanism. Just like “single” ppl, may fight back because of flight, who's to say the system wouldn't do the same thing. Remember they're protecting the host. If they feel threatened, someone is bound to front. And someone else in the headspace is bound to calm others down.
As part of a system and a person with undiagnosed OSDD, I'm kinda offended for the covering of this movie. Before you call me things, please read the rest of this comment. I get that it's seen as good by some people, but they also tend to have it as their only contact with this illness and tend to assume that this is how we behave. We don't do that at all. Most of people with DID or OSDD would never hurt anyone, much less do the same as their abuser probably did. This movie created so much stigma, and even after it's been out for some time people look scared once you tell them that you're multiple. Things like this just encourage the stigma of a disease that's more of a defense mechanism, not a "evil inside" thing. DID and OSDD are a way out a child found while being *constantly abused*, a way to stay alive during and after living such an experience at such a young age. The principal cause of DID and OSDD are trauma at a young age, before a complete identity can be formed. Before you're 7-9 years old, you actually don't have a defined identity yet. If your raising was normal, then your identity just forms and ou become a complete identity. But the trauma prevents this from happening, and thus your identity splits, leading to one of the disorders I mentioned. That's why this movie is seen as bad for us, since there is already a lot of stigma around this. We're most definetely not monsters, nor extremely dangerous. We're just people, broken people who went through too much too fast. Thanks for reading.
as someone studying psychology, when you take into account that this has a very very very rare chance of happening, its not impossible. What makes this movie so intriguing to me is that with everything I know about DID, if you want to survive morals just go out the window and it makes me question if id be able to take advantage of the non aggressive alters like the child.
obviously when i said it was possible that wasn't including the superhuman difference in the beast, just that even though its extremely rare, there can be violent alters that could commit a crime like this. again not at all whatsoever common and never assume someone with DID has a violent alter because it barely ever happens
Ugh... i dont like this movie... and i dont mean in a 'Taste'-Sense. I think the Creators crosses a Line here; no kidding. I think this movie should not exist.
@@slevinchannel7589 I don't see what u mean by " Crossing The Line " ? This isn't the only movie where a man has kidnapped a girl or woman so what part crosses the line for you ? this movie is so ridiculous, i really wish it would stop getting coverage its already added so much stigma DID and disorders alike it really doesn't need to be spread any further without the explanation that its mostly fictional and doesn't portray the actual disorder or its symptoms
I know this is three months old but there’s one thing that wouldn’t work with what you said. DID (or multiple personalities disorder) is something that happens in the mind, and it doesn’t make you more or less capable physically. Which is why the “beast” personality is stupid. But also, when the kid personality comes out, beating him up will basically be like beating up a child in an adult’s body. He’s still more powerful than you. And since the whole point of DID is to protect the “core” personality, the moment you attacked him a more defensive and powerful personality will def come out. So yeah, not the best option
Which is why you would have to make sure to attack surprisingly and with a strong first strike, which you immediately follow up with more strikes until you are sure he is incapacitated (in the best case) or dead (in the less than ideal case, since the mentally ill person is likely not accountable for his actions, but it is still justified to kill him in self defense if he is threatening your life). If you knock him out, you don't have to worry about another alter taking over. It is probably still the safer approach than trying to persuade or trick the child alter to free them, since you can't be sure how long the comparatively benevolent child alter will be in the front and what may triggern another, hostile alter to take over.
12:18 i would say double tap with the throat being first and then go for the spine . this give 100% assumption that the threats eliminated or atleast fully paralyzed

There's light. There are lamps. Metal objects. Electricity. Also water and a bathroom. Fry the guy with a makeshift cattle prod. Use sticks or the lamps as handles, so that electricity can be applied from a safe distance without directly touching wires. Could also make some ghetto ropes with clothes and other fabric to trap the guy's legs somehow. Even something dumb like telling the kid personality it's a game of sorts might work. Overpowering a buff guy might be hard, but there are very few cases where a single leg can overpower a whole human, even less if it's two people pulling at two legs in different directions. Using belt as a weapon was a nice idea, but it's a lot easier and safer to wrap something heavy in clothes. Belts have very poor control from what I've seen, compared to something like a vase tucked into a sleeve. A lot of ways to approach this one due to the multiple personalities and seemingly common living conditions with a lot of stuff lying around. Not saying any of the methods I mention are foolproof (cause they're not), but it is kinda funny how the characters manage to find the very few lazy and silly ways of saving themselves.
@@RomanHistoryFan476AD No...you would possibly risk triggering another alter or alters to protect the child. They're children and have the mindset of a child. If you wouldn't fight a nine year old boy as a grown-woman, then don't fight a nine year old daughter. You might also risk causing a lack of communication within the system and fear induced amnesia.
@@alexwilliams2276 I already mentioned that another personality could take over in response to defend the kid mindset. What has a nine year old mind in an adult body got to do with a nine year old daughter.
@@RomanHistoryFan476AD It's supposed to say alter and I was directly responding to “then deal with [an] angry adult with a powerful body.” Which isn't realistic in terms of what the system does for each other. I know you're referring to the movie Split, but realistically a “protector” may front or co-front. They may become even dissociative, you may trigger out defensive alters..which increases the chances of amnesia. That itself is immoral for a traumatized body. Edit: Also, additional edits, alters have been shown to have different strengths, weaknesses, body types, etc. Some may even be another race, but they cannot claim to be that race as the body is a different race...and that's problematic. So, a kid alters or little (more common word) will not have the strength of a grown man. They are very sensitive, fragile, very child-like. Their emotional maturity is of a child. Some may also be flirtatious but do not flirt with them. And secondly, like any child, they're not physically stronger than an adult. Littles can be easily manipulated. And like many of us as a child naïve. Now unlike other children, they do have the ability to solve complex situations-but it all depends on the system. They're also helpless (described to me personally) and as I expressed before child-like. Their trauma is felt-and they may describe the abuse (either by comfort or accidental).

Hedrick seems like the kind of person to ask if you have games on your phone.
as someone studying psychology, when you take into account that this has a very very very rare chance of happening, its not impossible.
Love these videos and yes, the movie was amazing.
I just hate how this movie presents DID. It just contributes to the demonization of it :/

the problem with this is that you're trying to kill someone, or escape, not figure out what's going on and try to help
SO THATS THE TITLE OF THE MOVIE😀 I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR IT SINCE 2019 AND I COULDN'T FINE IT AND THANK YOU🤩
Your voice overs are really well done :)
It is probably still the safer approach than trying to persuade or trick the child alter to free them, since you can't be sure how long the comparatively benevolent child alter will be in the front and what may triggern another, hostile alter to take over.
he really had to say hypothetically speaking 🤣

The old lady playing Sherlock Holmes was just dumb. 😂
5:20 When you brother wears you clothes
Not saying any of the methods I mention are foolproof (cause they're not), but it is kinda funny how the characters manage to find the very few lazy and silly ways of saving themselves.

fighting the nine year old might not be as smart as it sounds, yes he has the mind of the nine year old, but the body is still adult and strong.
But he'll be less suspecting can suprise him
@@hyperbannana9262 Yeah but once the surprise is over you got to then deal with a angry adult with a powerful body.
@@RomanHistoryFan476AD
No...you would possibly risk triggering another alter or alters to protect the child.
@@RomanHistoryFan476AD
It's supposed to say alter and I was directly responding to “then deal with [an] angry adult with a powerful body.”
Which isn't realistic in terms of what the system does for each other. I know you're referring to the movie Split, but realistically a “protector” may front or co-front. They may become even dissociative, you may trigger out defensive alters..which increases the chances of amnesia. That itself is immoral for a traumatized body.
Edit:
Also, additional edits, alters have been shown to have different strengths, weaknesses, body types, etc.
I love this movie its my favorite movie I love Hedwig and Kasey
