I agree, '67-'68. I was in the afternoon class of kindergarten so I was able to watch a full episode of the Captain. Watching this clip opened a floodgate of memories with the cereal on the train.
I agree, Kevin---seeing the "cereal on the train"---what a blast from the past. (I forgot all about that visual.) If that was '67-'68, I would have been 7/8 years of age. I remember watching The Captain for most of its hour-long broadcast during summer-break from school, as well as holiday breaks. Ah, good times---the world seemed simpler back then; and it was from a child's viewpoint.
Wow did that bring back a childhood memory, seeing him pitching Kellogg’s cereal on the show evoked an amazing feeling of familiarity. Another commentator stated this episode broadcast in 1967, if that’s the case then I was 5 years old and probably watched it. How you got ahold of something this obscure is remarkable. This clip was first posted on youtube by Philo Farnsworth, but he or she has never revealed the source of the tape, and if the episode exists complete or partially. It is the second oldest surviving color footage tape of the series. Not much was saved.

They were supposed to be children's blocks and were drawn as such in the early days of the Captain.
