  • Fishing shell key for snook, redfish and trout on the paddleboard in tampa bay. We landed an inshore slam on the NLBN mini mullet and the saltstrong mulligan. Fishing along the mangroves, inlet and docks.

Will be in Tampa Bay to fish for 3 days in end of March 2024.
Any recommendations pointers for fishing the mangroves, like tides or gear??

They could be any where in march. Starting to come out of the creeks to the bay. 20-30lb top shot and a green fluke will get them

awesome video man really appreciate how you break down the day on the map. Bold of you to give spots away but very helpful to see which areas are producing this time of year! cheers

Ya i try and keep most of the untouched spots hidden, but this location gets a lot of local tourist traffic and a lot of beginners to tampa bay. Should only help people do a little better and translate what they learn to other spots. Thanks for watching!

@ Had to be over a year or so ago. Over by the Shell Key docks… you mentioned you were getting big ass trout behind the island close to Ft Desoto…

Shell key has a real nice choke point at the end...

The north end one got closed in with sand a few years back. South end one hasn’t produced for me this year(and is a bit far of a paddle near boats)

Ya the large back sand bar is still there but dont remember if it goes dry. Its for sure shallow though.

It "counts" as soon as it's water skiing.....especially for dinks.
Also: Trout have strict rules.... You can never round up. A 6 3/4 pound red is a 7 pound red. But it's still a 6 pound trout. It has to hit 7 to be 7. A 9 pound 14 oz trout is not a 10 pound trout.
    Nice clip. Thanks.

ya luckily i didn't have to go by weight, just catch or not catch to get the inshore slam! Otherwise, it would probably be a total weight of under 9 lbs haha.
