Great video and many thanks for the detailed content! However, I need a little clarification. I understand oyster shells are gotten from the sea. If so, do the shells contain salt? Does the oyster shells go through any procedure to get rid of the salt since salt can be harmful to snails? Thank you.
What we have here in Ghana are not found in the sea. Mostly from the Volta lake. It’s not harmful in anyway. Even the ones found in the sea just need to be washed. That’s all.
Most of those product are synthetic. I think it will be cheaper and safer if you used what you can be sure of. Dicalcium phosphate can also be gotten from grinned cattle bone. Other options are chicken egg shells, oyster shells, snail shells and limestone rock.
This is surprising! I have never seen where feeds or calcium are being sprinkled on the snails. Putting the powder in the tray could be better to avoid insects and ants.
Moist calcium in trays are just another way of introducing calcium to them. I also helps you calculate the actual amount of calcium being consumed. What I do not understand is how insects and ants are correlated to sprinkling calcium that is devoid of insects. How will it invite ants when the housing is built in a way ants cannot have access?
Keep up the great work! Love how you explain things!
Thanks very much. You are great
Thank you!!!
What about the protein, fat and other . How to prepare them. also are there any formulated protein seeds for snails in the market ???
