the Original Luigi's Mansion song definitely had true Scary to it. It had spooky responses to the melody. Luigi's Mansion 2 was Unsettling, definitely gave the feeling you entered a place you shouldn't. Luigi's Mansion 3 song is "Spooky" but pretty much just as spooky as a techno remix of "Spooky Scary Skeleton". Kinda like a carnival ride with a hint of mr.bones.
I actually think Luigi's Mansion 3 's theme sounds kind of tragic. I agree that it does sound a bit carnivally with the original instrumentation, but when played on the piano it kinda has a sad vibe. Why didn't Nintendo use a piano in the first place? It sounds so beautiful.
SennaTheSenna when I hear the 3rd one I get a “calm before the storm” kind of vibe. Like things are tense in the beginning, and then it slows down so much that it gives you a false sense of security. The 2nd one gives me the tragedy vibe you’re describing.
I think the 3° is meant to be more melodic and energic. I mean, you enter on a fabulous hotel that is revealed to be a trap, so the song has it's beautifull notes, like a song you would hear on a hotel,and it's twisted to something darker. It's like a dream slowly turning into a nightmare.

I play dark moon on a daily basis. When 1:45,I was like, This is what I call music. :) By the way I felt the same way about the original not because I play it (I don't) I watch videos about it all the time. I never heard the 3rd one, though and it good. :)

the funniest part of this is that he baits us into thinking he is playing little red riding hood but since it uses the same chords (sort of) he uses that to lead into the actual start of luigi's mansion one theme. I really like that he also does this a few times throughout the arrangement

Erik's rendition is good but man, your's is better. I'm not a music theory guy but I've listened to both recordings maybe 10 times over (it's become my adult lullaby, I dont know) and your version has a cohesion to it that brings it up to the next level.
I belive the luigis mansion 1 song was the main mansion theme. For luigis mansion dark moon/2 it can be all the mansions bu t mainly the gloomy manor. And luigis mansion 3 is the first area ??? (Have not played it yet).
