My little skipper is 15. He's really showing his age with white hairs on face, neck and face. He's slowed down but is a great guard dog and companion. That little smile of hjs is heartwarming.
Oh man, those two Saluki were gorgeous. I like the clip where he gets in front of one at a brisk trot with kind of a "ha! I caught you!" pose, as if the Saluki wasn't taking it easy on 'em to begin with.
I watch this video and feel like I am watching my Peanut at the dog park. She is just half Schipperke and yet full on personality and play style. Comes up to the biggest pit bull, swipes their face, and then the chase is on. she cuts, bobs, weaves and wins. I love her. BUT man what a handful!
Love this video. We have two Skips and this video really shows how they "compare" to other dogs. The one thing I notice, and it is true with ours as well, the Skip just appears to have better speed, turning, and agility over most of these larger dogs while still being stronger, better focused, and more sturdy than the smaller breeds. It has only happened twice, but the two times one of our Skips got in a "fight" with another dog (Boxer and later a Dalmatian) the much larger dog was totally out-matched in terms of speed, force, and maneuvering. I feel bad for the other dogs, because Skips seem able to spring vertically, sideways, or even backwards in order to land their surprisingly large teeth in sensitive spots. Both times the other dogs were the aggressors as the Skip "looks" tiny and fluffy. As this video shows, it takes a very large and quick dog to pin a Skip and even then you will be met with a hail of razor sharp teeth that "belong to a much larger dog". My favorite scene is the ones in the snow where a dog three times the size of the Skip is overtaken, IN THE SNOW, which is up to the Skip's chest. That is a powerful little dog. The Schipperke... the little black devil!
@@BaltotheSchipperke : Very old breed, it was already in Belgium in the 1600s , its real name is Berger de Lenven or Brussels, once it had the grandeur of the Malinois Shepherd, the breeders turned it into a dwarf to hunt rats, today the breeders try to restore it to its normal size, it mating the largest set of different nesting, its demand of time for some millimeters, today there are schipperke 2x times larger
That little dog is the definition of"energy." If I had one I'd have to have three so they exercised each other! I'd never be able to exercise one properly on my own. Fifty years ago, maybe; not now.
If It was not for the Corgi's heart bums, I would only have one favorite dog breed. Such a proud stance to an animal, and I love watching dogs full out running while playing, and the leaps across the stream, it really shows their heritage as well. Thank you for this. My heart was warmed by it
I love how the big black and red German Shepherd gave him about the best run for his money. What I call my German Shepherd dog's zoomies before he goes to bed. My sister has a Schipperke she calls, Duke, but I call him, Ninja because he is all over the place, using the sofa as a spring board literally doing flips and turns to get to his toys before I do. Love his little crazy self. I sometimes also affectionately call him, crackbaby.
This made me laugh so hard because I see the same playful, silly, great Schip in mine as well... Mine was rescued from a puppy mill & is now 10 years old. I hope to have another, but it's pretty rare to find an affordable, well bred one; we were very lucky to have rescued her. Thanks for sharing!
My Schip/Pit mix is the queen of our local dog park and has no problem putting huge overly avuncular dogs in their place immediately and fearlessly and then goes back to her primary jobs: protecting me, solving mysteries, and keeping the peace. She thinks she's Batman and our little development is her Gotham. Basically taught herself English somehow.
Schipperkees don't know the meaning of stop!, this reminds me so much of my Schipperke Skipper. we live in West Texas and it would get so hot he nearly killed himself once by refusing to stop running and he got heat stroke. we had to always keep a close eye on him after that.
I wish my rescue Skip mix was brave enough to play with the bigger dogs, because I know she would run circles around them like yours does! . . But she lived in a terrible home the first 3 years of her life with an untrained and unfortunately aggressive Pitt (side note, I love pitbulls, but they didn't train him well). She is finally socialized enough to say hello to bigger dogs, but she is still too scared to trust them and play ❤️ love these Skips, they are the best doggos.
😂😂 thanks, a lot of walks and training, around 10-15 km each day. We love to walk, especially in the forests, so found this perfect smart breed 👍🏼❤️ you can visit our Instagram to watch more of his life: @ksunb
what an amazing video, so close to Mudis in terms of build/motion and energy. what’s theiir weight? wiki says it’s 3 to 9kg, but 3 would be tiny, this one looks closer to 9...
small as a fox, beautiful as a wolf and tough as a honey badger
I've had two Schipperkes in my life and that's 100% true. Best description ever.
Schipperkes go all in! They are fearless and don't care how big the opponent is. We could all learn a thing or two from these brave cuties.
Fearlessness is quite dangerous, and may lead to a very bad outcome when it comes to dogs
I love these little ones.so sweet and fun.
My LBD barked the entire 4:44 minutes. He loves barking at any animals on the big screen.

Lol that little dog sure knows how to have fun.
My 15 year old schipperke is my pride and joy. He hasn’t slowed down yet.
Damn that's good to hear 😌 mines 11 and is still as active as he was when he was younger ❤️
How cool that you get to encounter so many different types of dog breeds! And what a spunky little fellow your dog is! Too cute and amusing 😀
I wish I had a Schipperke.

Badass has never looked so cute!
My schipperke is happily watching this haha. Thanks!
Reminds me of my little boy Chihuahua, who does not see himself as very small, yet will take on any dog.

I'm deciding between the same two breeds as well. I can only get one so it's tough to weigh the options

I should send you one of my Schipperke Luca playing with his BFF Dax, a female Irish Wolfhound.

What a holy terror. Super cute. There’s one at a shelter near me so I’m trying to learn more about their temperament.

Markus Seitz Thanks a lot 🙏🏼😀 Balto is 7,6 kg now and he is 3,5 years old, we keep him fit every day, and feed him in time)))
What are you feeding him? XD Dynamite?
Balto is a very dominant little guy
Schipperke is shepherd !
My Schipperke is a 3 year old rescue...She will need training. Anyone know a trainer for this breed in Connecticut?
hi, i dont know any trainers around here, but do you have any tips or connections on finding a schipperke in CT? how did you come across your Schip?
World’s fastest fur ball
They need to stop cutting tails off PLEASE.
А Балто европеец или американец?
У Балто папа американского типа, мама европейского и в поколениях смешанные крови, поэтому он что-то среднее))
