To the person that had a major meltdown because the grandmother died, what is wrong with you?! Her grandmother just passed away. Have some freaking sympathy. If a situation like that happened in my hypothetical wedding... I totally be sympathetic and be like hey I'm sorry that you lost your grandmother. Be a sympathetic and good person.

This is not the bride or groom, but the groom and my grandmother. I have a controlling grandma (paternal). Three of my cousins on one of my dad’s brother’s side are married, two daughters and one son who each have been married, the third is getting married this weekend. For all their weddings, my grandma gets more stressed than the groom or bride’s parents or the groom and bride themselves. I touch my hair, my dress, do ANYTHING the way I want (I told her I didn’t want my hair straightened and used a voice tone that said “great, the whole wedding is ruined because ‘everyone (not true) is getting their hair done the same way’”. This happens every year, today is no different. I’m singler than a pringle will ever be and I know that if I ever get married-she’ll be the first to be there TWO hours before anyone else and she better not go ballistic because I go with whatever I want to do as the center of attention. I have been a bridesmaid for 2 of my cousins and have been dolled up because I’m in the wedding. I’m on the groom’s side because I hardly know the bride (just met her this week), and because we are cousins, so I’m not in the wedding, but of course, grandma’s life is over. And no, she doesn’t get all like that with my siblings or cousins AT ALL as far as I know. Grandmother-of-the-spouse-zilla Love you grandma but why. WHY?

my mother went to the wedding of her best friend as the second bridesmaid, she went as the second because the main bridesmaid was the bride's "college best friend" so a more recent friend and she made a huge stink about being bridesmaid to the bride, my mother was supposed to make the cake, main BM decided she would do a better job at making a cake(which she messed up, worst cake i have even seen), and my mother used to be a cake decorator, she proceeded to be a control freak for the entire wedding and then had the audacity to demand the guests of the after party help clean up(me and my family)well my brother was not having it, he snapped and called her out for everything, even calling her a b!+ch, in the end we left and never heard from bridesmaid again
Addition: the Bride wouldnt say anything because she hates conflict, and cant say no to anyone, she is a vry kind person and deserved a perfect wedding
