I do add salt for the baits I use in the early season. I like the sleet fall of the bait for summer bass because when they move off the beds they become less aggressive. The slower fall triggers a reaction strike
I explain why I don't wear gloves in part 2. I don't add salt for summer fishing. Salt only adds weight and I want a slower fall. A slower fall keeps the bait in the strike zone longer and performs better in warm weather.
Sweet video bro! And doing it from a motel room. Love it! Shows you don't need all that high dollar fancy shit.. thanks man, I'll be ordering molds now
hey well maybe he cant afford to live in a house and maybe you should be more positive instead of critisizing the guy, if you watch part two he has a store where he sells them, we all dont have money like you rick snobs do. by the way great video, keep it up man.
I was holding the Pyrex in my hand when it exploded. Was not on a cool surface. I was using a hot plate so my guess is I overheated it. I'm using an aluminum pan now and that has been working well for me. I like that I can keep the plastic melted between pours.
Since making that comment I've been making tons of baits using a hot plate and an aluminum saucepan. For me it works better than the microwave method because I don't have to keep reheating the plastic.
I like how you said don't get the glitter from Walmart me being a soft plastics lure maker I've had no issues using the glitter from Walmart in my baits I even got some from 5 below and it held up just fine
In my experience, walmart glitter only works for a single use application. Although, when heating plastic back up after its cooled the color of the glitter will bleed into the baits. Will the bait function as others? Yes. Will the color be other then what your going for? Yes because the color has bled into the plastic. It also clumps together too much. Glitter that is not hi-temp such as walmart will cause more problems then its worth. btw HI temp glitter from do it molds is $6 and lasts a long time so I promote using the write ingredients for the best result.
I get all my fishing buddies to save their ripped and torn plastics for me. Keeps me going and plastic reorders down. Nice molds, I'm still using plaster of paris molds :(
I’m gonna say this for everyone that’s wondering YES it saves money and YES it’s better then buying a pack of stick baits for the fact you can customize them and YES you can remelt almost every plastic bait up to 3 times everything to start doing this cost around 100 dollars to start but saves you money in the long run happy pouring everyone
I used exactly the same materials as you. And followed the video instructions. Once all said and done. My senko won't sink. When put in the cool water, they float. And advice and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
It's either because the centers are still warm or you got too many air bubbles in the plastic before pouring. This also happens when shaking the fresh plastisol. Let the un-heated plastisol sit for 15-20min after shaking. Also if there is a lot of air bubbles coming to the top after heating then it may be too hot and began to boil. An infrared thermometer would fix that. If it heats above 350deg then you need to let it cool before pouring.
Hey bud just a tip, when mixing don't make the knife go in circles, go back and force straight across the cup because when you spin it it just spins the liquid goin back and force actually mixes it.
I’ve never tried food coloring although I don’t think it will hold up to the high heat as well if re-melting baits. Also I think the color would fade durastically in the sun which will bleed color onto whatever it touches such as other baits or your boat/kayak
Great video and keep it up! But I had a question. Everytime I inject my mold I do everything right, but I have dimples in them. Each worm has a like dent in it and Ive tried to find out how to fix it but nothing has helped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
That is crazy cool... Why does everybody want underwater footage? Fish in the boat is better than under water footage unless your a fish, then it would be like a food commercial...lol
So cool video. I just wanted to see how it would be to make it myself but to be honest. it seems like too much hassle. I use senkos but not enough to be making my own and all that. Seems like I would have to do all that for only 4 worms. Rather buy some packs of dif colors and have them last me for a couple of months. $20 a month is not bad on spending on soft plastics. Probably more than I will ever use. :) But Great vid! maybe I will get into the soft plastics business someday and your vid will be helpful! :) Thanks.
If you mix up a batch of plastic, you pour the mold multiple times. What you watched isn't just for 4 worms, it's just the first step. From here on out he'll just repeat filling the mold. I'd guess from what was mixed in the pyrex and the scrap he had left over that can be remelted you'd end up with 40+ worms. As it is with any mass production line on any scale, it's always the setup that takes the longest. You get your batch of plastic ready and keep pouring and emptying the mold until you're out of plastic to pour.
it all depends how much you fish. With a cup of plastic I can make about 23-26 senkos yet I go through almost all that in one fishing trip. if I bought that, it'll cost me about $21 bucks every fishing trip. I go four to six trips a week, that'll cost me $100 plus a week for senkos only. well worth it to pour my own. I've gone three seasons without buying any senkos. if you fish once in a blue moon, you're better off buying then at the store .
+Rygis King yeah I would never need that many senkos. You must lose a lot of tackle if you run through that many senkos! Wow. I usually go about 2-3 times a week. I dont always go bass fishing though.
+daxrebel182 yeah I lose a ton especially waky rigging them, plus I share my tackle with whoever I'm fishing with so I go through a ton of senkos each fishing trip.
My Pyrex cup complexly shattered the first time I used it. Glass and hot plastic went everywhere. I was lucky I was wearing protective clothing and eye protection. I know these are the industry standard for this and a lot of people use them, so I'm not sure why this happened to mine as it was new and there were no pre existing cracks before I used it. Waste of $10 tho.
I would have to say you over-heated .... By a lot. The breaking point for Pyrex is way up there ... Well above 450 degrees. Pyrex glassware is used in many conventional ovens for baking in the 400-425 range.
You also need to be careful about where you put the pyrex when it is really hot. Cold water or even a cold surface can temperature shock the pyrex, causing it to explode. If you are going to set it down on something like a granite counter, put down a cork pad or even just a couple layers of towel to insulate the glass from the cold counter.
Do you think it would be worth it for some one that doesnt have any of the gear to make plastics to get into this or do you think its just a better idea to stick to just buying senko's
jesus garcia quart of plastic will save you about $275 in baits that it makes.. soft baits are around $5.50 a bag so it does save... But you have to spend money to make money... Quart of plastic is $24 and each mold is between $35- $65 depending on the type you want.. colors are $4.50 a bottle
Did you run this through a mass spectrometer to see if it's analytically identical to the Senko? I think you'll find the mass to charge ratios of the components are missing the derivative that the Senkos have. j/k They look good to me.
what companies do you use for color and glitter? because of you im going to start to make my own molds. i wanted to for awhile but never really knew if i could, it seemed so hard. but after watching ur vids it was easy and i made the jump. you should make more of these vids.
Matt Gose damnn lol thanks for asking that lmfao my dumbass had no idea that would matter, my wife woulda killed me cause i was just gonna go in the kitchen and get straight to work lmao
All depends how fast you want it to sink. All salt does is add weight. Use a scale to measure how much a retail senko weighs and then add salt your baits to make the weight the same
well it adds weight, but doesn't it also add some flavor that keeps the fish chewing on it a little bit longer too? that is what I heard about salts...but im no expert on that topic...
+Bassmaster_26 yes it does although it's a one time cost. Per gallon of plastisol I get 450-500 baits at $60 per gallon. If I were to buy the same baits at retail prices I'd spend more then what it costs to make my own. For example if I bought $60 worth of baits that 6-8 bags used once. If I make my own using one gallon of plastic I get 45-50 bags of bait for the same cost
Screw the haters. Great video man. Me and the guys are looking to start doing this. Can't wait to start
You shoud Make a underwater video to see how well they swim comapare to the real thing.
I do add salt for the baits I use in the early season. I like the sleet fall of the bait for summer bass because when they move off the beds they become less aggressive. The slower fall triggers a reaction strike

why don't you have more subs you should be hitting 1 million this was o helpful
MN Kayak Angler Can you add regular cooking salt?
Mondo Baits yeah Morton’s salt works
Sweet video bro! And doing it from a motel room. Love it! Shows you don't need all that high dollar fancy shit.. thanks man, I'll be ordering molds now
I know you were making Senkos but when I first glanced at your table it looked like a meth lab. Great Video, thanks!
Nice video. Never occurred to me to even try making my own, but this is tempting.
Not only do save a little money but it's and added thrill catching fish with your own custom bait
Awesome video man! Might adopt this as my winter hobby
hey well maybe he cant afford to live in a house and maybe you should be more positive instead of critisizing the guy, if you watch part two he has a store where he sells them, we all dont have money like you rick snobs do. by the way great video, keep it up man.
Josh BeDell he could also be traveling with work and is away from home and doing this for extra money
Yes that to but all his videos are in a hotel but that could be the case
agreed

Great video. Interesting to see how it's done, thanks for posting.
This is a great video watching how easy this was i might just buy everything for my dad for father's day n birthday
I was holding the Pyrex in my hand when it exploded. Was not on a cool surface. I was using a hot plate so my guess is I overheated it. I'm using an aluminum pan now and that has been working well for me. I like that I can keep the plastic melted between pours.
Thermal shock does not require contact with another surface and yes you heated the cup uneven with a hotplate.
Since making that comment I've been making tons of baits using a hot plate and an aluminum saucepan. For me it works better than the microwave method because I don't have to keep reheating the plastic.
IVE GOT GOOD EYEBALL SKILLS ,,, SHIT THATS TO MUCH CRACKED ME UP
So smart! Very cool process!
thanks for the video. it was extremely helpful.
Those look really good!
DONT STIR THE STUFF ON THE SIDES....immediately stirs the shit on the sides

@@MNKayakAngler I've had no issues using it and remelting with it
cool! one of the most helpful vids I've seen about this stuff. thanks! I subscribed
Good simple video to explain process. Thx
Nice video. I love fishing with the 4 inch. Would love to fish with that small piece you save for later.
I get all my fishing buddies to save their ripped and torn plastics for me. Keeps me going and plastic reorders down. Nice molds, I'm still using plaster of paris molds :(
Absolutely nothing wrong PoP molds. They keep the plastic going for sure. Thanks for the comment
Great video verry helpful . Appreciate it !
Nice video!
great video bud. very informative.
Great vid. Keep it up man👍
13:11 BLESS YOU
I’m gonna say this for everyone that’s wondering YES it saves money and YES it’s better then buying a pack of stick baits for the fact you can customize them and YES you can remelt almost every plastic bait up to 3 times everything to start doing this cost around 100 dollars to start but saves you money in the long run happy pouring everyone
Do a crawfish mold? Just curious to see what kind they have and how well it turns out. I would be more interested in the craw mold then senkos.
Cool video!
Did you say stay away from aluminum
I used exactly the same materials as you. And followed the video instructions. Once all said and done. My senko won't sink. When put in the cool water, they float. And advice and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

+MN Kayak Angler thanks man I'll give it a shot,I appreciate the help! God bless
thanks for the video I enjoyed it
Can the leftover bit of plastic be melted back down and poured again?
what should I buy to make my own soft plastic designs? Is the vac 50/50 good
Good video brother
I'm looking to make a blue swirl in my greenpumpkin beavers any advice. I can make a two tone beaver I'm looking for the slight hint of a color.
Would you consider selling them to people in bulk like 20 sinkos or something like that
Really like the video man:)
How much is the color and scent?
What plastic do you like for the senkos soft or hard
Awesome vid that is so cool lol
Where do you get that metal thing that gives the sencos it's shape
How long do you leave the senko in cold watet
how long should i leave the soft plastic in the water?
Donde puedo conseguir un molde como ese
Hey man whenever i pout and finish it is so hard to pop off the injectors tip i have to use all my force just to get it to pop off
Thanks bud 👍
Very nice.....
Hey bud just a tip, when mixing don't make the knife go in circles, go back and force straight across the cup because when you spin it it just spins the liquid goin back and force actually mixes it.
I think you mean forth.
+kingklabe yea autocorrect got me haha
nice video
Do you have to use the actual fishing dye and can you just use food dye
I’ve never tried food coloring although I don’t think it will hold up to the high heat as well if re-melting baits. Also I think the color would fade durastically in the sun which will bleed color onto whatever it touches such as other baits or your boat/kayak

Went to Walmart, bought Watermelon senkos with red flake and made it back to watch you pull yours out of the mold. Just kidding, nice video.
Hay molde para hacer el cangrejo como los rage craw y como se llama o que número es gracias
Is this the ES Senko mold or the Gary Yamamoto Senko mold? Both are sold by Do-it. one is $60 cheaper.
Great video and keep it up! But I had a question. Everytime I inject my mold I do everything right, but I have dimples in them. Each worm has a like dent in it and Ive tried to find out how to fix it but nothing has helped. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I also have the do-it senko mold and use there plastisol
Danny Lester use a blow dryer to warm the mold first before you pour
Warming the mold will help a lot
That is crazy cool...
Why does everybody want underwater footage? Fish in the boat is better than under water footage unless your a fish, then it would be like a food commercial...lol
could you mold creature baits
Never mind its in the description
Nice Job.:)
Amigo por consulta esos moldes para señuelos de silicona tu los vendes o los compradores , por yo estoy que busco esos moldes urgente
Thnx man, big help
Hey man, what about salts? Do you not use anything for weight? If so when do you add, and how much?
To me the salt is for personal preference. IF you want to duplicate a senko exactly then yes add salt. I fish weighted so I dont use any
So cool video. I just wanted to see how it would be to make it myself but to be honest. it seems like too much hassle. I use senkos but not enough to be making my own and all that. How'd the hotel like this?
How much does all of that cost
Cool dude
How do you add salt?
Where did u get aluminum mold
Id love to have a 5.5 inch swim senko mold. How can I get a set!.
do a google search. Not sure if you'll find a 5.5 senko mold but I'm sure you'll find something close
Also put salt in the so they sink
I prefer a slower sink. The still sink without salt for me because I fish them weighted
for the excess bits of senko that have already been dyed do you just reheat and re pour
+A Patriot yep. Check out part two as well.
how many worms do you typically get out of 1-quart of this plastisol?
+Mattdetails 100+ easy
how much does everything cost
My Pyrex cup complexly shattered the first time I used it. Glass and hot plastic went everywhere. I was lucky I was wearing protective clothing and eye protection. I'm totally doing that
Do you think it would be worth it for some one that doesnt have any of the gear to make plastics to get into this or do you think its just a better idea to stick to just buying senko's
+Chrismiester it depends how often you will use a senko. If you you use them a lot it's definantly worth it.
Chrismiester just buy them until you feel uncomfortable with all of the money you've spent and then make your own.
what is the difference in price from retail price to making your own great video by the way
jesus garcia quart of plastic will save you about $275 in baits that it makes.. soft baits are around $5.50 a bag so it does save... But you have to spend money to make money... Quart of plastic is $24 and each mold is between $35- $65 depending on the type you want.. colors are $4.50 a bottle
Well 8 can make 8 baits for roughly $2-$3 and then I can also re-melt and re-mold about 3x so over 20 baits for under $5
Did you run this through a mass spectrometer to see if it's analytically identical to the Senko? I think you'll find the mass to charge ratios of the components are missing the derivative that the Senkos have. j/k They look good to me.

Jane's World he tells you in the video
Where did you get the mold
Where did u get the molds and the colors and sents
he said it like 4 times and has it in his description, but to help you out anyway... store.do-itmolds.com
Is it safe to heat that up in the same microwave that you would heat ur foods in
+Matt Gose No. Do not heat plastisol or re-melt plastics in a microwave used for food.
Matt Gose damnn lol thanks for asking that lmfao my dumbass had no idea that would matter, my wife woulda killed me cause i was just gonna go in the kitchen and get straight to work lmao
how do you re melt the plastic you put on the tupperware lid?
+Heather Gresty plastisol only sticks to itself unless applied to fabric. It peels right off and hard surface. Also, see part 2 for re-melts
awesome thank you!
It's tight how you make your own shit
Do you have to buy an injector
How do you add salt? Is it just any old salt or a special kind of salt.
any salt
nick costa you have to have fine salt
Where did u get the gary yamamoto aluminium mold and how much $
Ontario Angling I got mine at tackle warehouse for 22$
What does your cost become compared the retail price of Senkos?
+Vamp9190 well below being I can remold mine at least 3x
we're can I get all the products needed
Do-itmolds.com is my recommendation
Where can I get a Yamamoto SENKO 6 inch mold?
I think in the description
Nice
If you were to add salt how much would you use?
All depends how fast you want it to sink. All salt does is add weight. Use a scale to measure how much a retail senko weighs and then add salt your baits to make the weight the same

A 1/4th cup to every cup of plastisol.
Can u re-use(re-heat) soft plastics youve made
Yes. Once you use them and they get torn or ripped from use, they can be re-molded and re-used.
+MN Kayak Angler isnt it like around 100$ for all that couldnt u buy aton of soft plastics with the money
+Bassmaster_26 I also get multiple pours so if I get 3 pours per bait that 1350-1500 baits or 130-150 bags of bait for $60
What do you mean by that
Do you need the plunger
Yeah what else would u pour the plastic into the mold with?
