this video inspired me.. So i went to the driving range yesterday and (also after watching some of Paul Wilsons recent videos about an "effortless" driver swing, which is basically what's being done here) tried this.. needed to change my grip (i usually have a strong grip, but switched to neutral) and fully loosened my wrists, and was amazed that despite the fact that i didn't put any power in at all, my "warmup-drives" (just swinging the club back and forth to get the wrists warmed up and then getting the ball in the club-path at one point during the swinging) still went 200+ yards and straight.. almost all of them center straight.. trying an actual drive with just a tiny little bit faster body-rotation brought it to 250+ immediately and still straight.. i was amazed, and even got some comments from people next to me. with my "normal" (old) driver swing (strong grip and tight wrists) i can make 300+ (my furthest measured on trackman was 330 with a lot of power, but i definitely lose control of direction), but they're often a bit unpredictable as when i don't get the timing right they start hooking.. also due to the power i'm still sometimes inconsistent with hitting the clubface in the right spot.. that never happened a single time with the type of swing yesterday (out of 2 big buckets of about 50 balls each - at my driving range we get unlimited balls). the "worst" ball was maybe 15 meters off to the right at 250 y distance.. i'd take that any day on the course.. ..so i have the feeling if i keep the "new swing" and work on it a bit more, i'm sure that i can get the same distance as before but with much less power-input.. or i just stick with that distance, as long as they stay straight.. I have a round planned in tomorrow, so i'll definitely try that on the course. I did noticed that this swing somehow does not work for me when using my 5-wood or hybrid. There i'm much further and consistent with my strong grip and dropping the right shoulder.. I will discuss this with my pro, as i think this type of swing is definitely the direction i want to take moving forward..
@@cdh79 The grip change made the difference. A grip change took me a good few months to just start to feel normal. The thing is, when you make such a fundamental change, you automatically become more focused on the other basics like tempo and grip pressure etc. So, in a new practice routine, these alterations (even slight ones) used together, can produce fantastic results. Oh... and sometimes disaster.
Had the pleasure of following jimenez many a time, always been one of the players I think all golfers should look up to, that swing is just poetry in motion pure natural talent , a true personality, hopefully he has many more years of quality entertaining golf ahead of him
This is so great having all the other players showing him respect. Fantastic. I saw him play in March at the Hoag classic on the Tour Champions and yes, he can still move it out there. He was among the longest hitters.
They do that in amateur comps in the uk. Its funny, 0730hrs. Pouring down rain, cold and still quite dark... a bloke stands there shouting out... "next on the tee from blah blahshire CC"... as if hundreds of rabbits and foxes are gonna start cheering and clapping😂🤣
Appearances 707 made the cut 532, not mentioned by the commentators sadly that's tremendous record!!! Enjoy that whiskey and a cigar on a Golf course epic golf swing should be televised more but not because of the top bit with the whiskey and cigars!!
I think so. + Tbh: I completely get Miguel. If I can understand Wayne very clearly his voice isn't deep and quiet enough. Just wait with the commentary for 10 seconds until the guy has hit. This kind of commentary can also be annoying for viewers but it is unstandable for the players.
Bro that announcer BUTCHERED his name. Like it's not like he's a new guy on tour and nobody knows how to pronounce his name.. My man's been around for ages and any broadcaster worth his salt would have done him the courtesy of knowing how to pronounce his name lol
@Tony Not speaking a language is no excuse for butchering a name. If one takes on the job of announcing names then it shouldn't be asking too much of them to do a little homework on how to pronounce someone's name. It doesn't even take homework. All he has to do is ask the player how to pronounce his name as the player walks up to the tee box.
Some guys are just cool---this guy is one of em
totally agree
A fantastic achievement from a genuine legend. Gentleman and a character golf needed.
Right Here is the reason I LOVE golf.
Thanks Miguel, let’s hope you have a lot longer playing this wonderful game
He has such a nice relaxed swing.. beautiful to watch.
i just took my shirt off and watched
Amazing how he never looks to be swinging hard.. perfect

this guy's style is legit. look at those toe caps. meanwhile other people in trainers
Effortless swing , and still a great golfer ! Well done Miguel.

It wont be long before a 50 year old wins a main circuit major.. Julius Boros still has the title (i think) at 58 in the PGA back in the day.
Masterful performance by Miguel today! I was super impressed by his round.
The "Mechanic" is such a machine. 707 starts. Good for him. God love that man.
Walking up to the 18th green like "Are you not entertained??"
Yep... jammy bastard squirrels and birds have it all!!
Less talent than Seve but more likeable.
Great player and, more importantly, great Spaniard.
Felicidades Miguel!
@Tony Seve was awesome... but ya didn't want carry his bag.. or get in his way after a bad shot.
A great hero of the game, a brilliant attitude and such a gent.
EPT, theres been some audio glitches on a few of your last few videos. Some clicking sounds. Just a heads up.
A true stalwart of the European Tour. Living the dream.
Migwel, though. Congrats to one of the greats.
Fabulous player, underrated. A ridiculous short game. Legend.
What a guy....started in 83!!! And still going, brilliant!
One my favourites of all time ♥️

Lovely tribute from fellow pros, for a wonderful wonderful guy 😫
What a legend!!
D.Miguel Angel,es ud todo un caballero. Gracias por estos grandes momentos.
A gentleman, great player and cool.
A marvellous round of golf it would be lovely to see Angel win this tournament
Something special about the European Tour. when fellow professionals come to pay their respects on his final hole.
Living the dream. Play on brotha, play on.
Miguel stretchingggggg oooh !! Miguel ready dadadah 😂😎
I just loved hearing Jim Nantz say the last name ..”Himenthzzz” 😂😂
That’s actually the correct pronunciation. Atleast, In Spain it is.
I like how they still announce the players even though no one is there watching.

he's so stylish man, oozes class.
He’s so awesome 👏
Living legend right here ! End of story
All my congratulations
1:59 was he on about Wayne 😂
I think so.

“INTO THE BREEZE !!!!!!!”
Right on his backswing. 😂
Same thing happened to Shane Lowry once. There’s a clip of him somewhere going “fuckin Radar talking in my backswing”.
Haha yeah could be... usually he's alright at waiting for them to finish discussing shots etc but this time he just didn't shut up.
“Need to be inside my skin and I don’t wana let you do that” 😂 this guy is a legend
👍 😂🤣
Whatch "a round with Radar" its a Ping vid... with Miguel himself. its magic. The new course at Sunningdale looks awsome too👍
DJ Onfonsteen yer I’ve seen that, it’s a great watch
Wow what a man , brilliant.
Legend !
Miguel is one of the coolest golfers ever :D
Amazing highlights missing 4 birdies 🧐
5:12 when you take out the electric fly swatter
Is he announced by Ian Poulter at the beginning? Lol, sounds like him :)
Bro that announcer BUTCHERED his name. Like it's not like he's a new guy on tour and nobody knows how to pronounce his name.. My man's been around for ages and any broadcaster worth his salt would have done him the courtesy of knowing how to pronounce his name lol
This dude beat Tiger in his good ol’ days lol

Wonder if Keegan Bradley and his caddy sent him a congratulations?
My dad Brendan is caddying for him this week!
Really? Your dad will have fun a lot
@@Eduardo-si4le Yeah bro, he is going back to Gavin Green after this week
Miguel ready now.
I guess not having Keegan Bradley there helped. I kid...
I would like to see schematics on his heart rate during a round
Golf needs fewer clones and more like him.
Legend
Commentator should at least attempt to pronounce his name properly.
Playing a pro-am with him is one of the most hilarious experiences you can have in life.
Person who has never heard of this guy gang- where u at

Cooler than a polar bears toenails....legend!
That first tee announcer dude butchered his name so bad lmao. Migwell?
All those years as a professional golfer and this commentator still doesn't know how to pronounce his name. SMH
Robby Gomez it is Spanish... rubbish language. It is like talking sick
Stefan Pete Aside from your racist comment, the point was that after 30+ years on tour, commentators should know how to pronounce his name.
@@robgom777 Nice... and you didn't attack his English either. Im not sure if he was being a tad facetious too. 🤔?
MeGWELL? AnGELL? wow.
Great moment, and looking back, how bloody stupid to conduct interviews post round like this
Good to see he's lost a bit of the tub
Migwel Angle Jimenez
Có vẻ bác ấy đã 60 tuổi rồi
So seasoned...
Then he shoots a 72-73-72 and ties for 34th because People were talking too much.. lol 1:58 There was nobody out there..lol
Just trying to think of the last time I saw Miguel three-putt....
Sehr guten 😂
Most interesting golfer in the world! Stay thirsty my friend!!
One inch from a 63.
Damn, can they find someone to say his name worse?
I wish I could do a drive and not need to watch which gorse bush the ball landed in.
Should have been a Ryder Cup captain by now. Excuse has always been his accent !
The man can go low
Showman spanish
That's the absolute worse pronunciation I've ever heard in my life
