This should be done 2-3 times a year. The explanation of multiple boards of similar design was very entertaining. Even my wife watched although "don't get any ideas" was said a few times.
Not going to argue with someone else named Trip! We have been discussing how we can do some more of these and walk through the decision-making process as people decide on a board, we will keep that one around
Love this video are there any others? Really interesting breakdowns on the boards and I don’t even ride fish shapes. When’s the next contest? I want my chance to come pick one of the rack and hear Real’s take on what I should ride.
You can actually do that any time you'd like, Trip loves it when people request his assistance out on the loft. Shoot you could even email our team and ask for him and he will probably end up calling. But we will also be working on some new videos like this soon, stay tuned!
Amazing video. Who doesn’t love buying a new board?! Super fun to live vicariously through this dude, especially given the sick boards he was considering. Curious to know how the board went for him and if it met his expectations!
While this is all amazing info, don’t get too hung up on volume and shape and style and fins and all that. A talented surfer can pretty much hop on any board and have fun. Kelly Slater has surfed a coffee table. Jamie O’Brien has surfed a door. He surfs a soft top at Pipeline. Obviously get the best board style for the wave you surf, but I could blindly pick a board in that shop and have fun with it for sure.
I def think he got the right board for how he was talking. Feel something different. And his size and experience match the board thinking it’ll perform highly in the hatt thumpers. machado prob would unexpectedly be a blast for him too but prob a touch too fat. More towards fatter surf for him on this shape in this case. He’s a skinny cat.
Yep, spot on. The Machado is an awesome choice, but once he got that Christenson in hand he knew it felt right for him. We want to do more of these for that exact reason though.

beautiful pick ...but i feel Seaside should been shown , it is like combo of Chris. Fish n Hawk smashed together...good vid
Seaside would've fit in well for sure with that group!
That was epic , I wish every surf shop had people who could explain the different categories of design.

I agree. Beginners to intermediate it will make the biggest difference.
Absolutely amazing review
Be good if you added his feedback after he rode it a bit.
