Thanks for the tips. I have an Aetna Medicare Advantage plan, but my company is changing. I have to see the potential changes before knowing what my plan will be going forward. I am sure not good.

Just got my new Antea silver script drug plan premium, up almost 400% $9.80 to $44.80 a month!!
And with the deductible going up $300, that means a $700 total increase a year if I use the Deductible and if not only $400 a year more! Glad I can pay for all the other sick people. I only take Pravastatin only $10.00 a month!
Thank you Biden and the Democrats for passing the Inflation Reduction Act!?

I just googled and Investopdia (just one of the sites that said this) said Part D costs would be going down for most people in 2025. Maybe shop for a new plan.

So correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I’ve read ,drug companies are raising prices on their common drugs to make up for lowering prices on higher end drugs. Read expensive. So I will now have to pay the first $2000 ? I’m fortunate, I only have two Rx but that’s four times more than I’m currently paying with insurance.

Loaded question if your 2 drugs are generic drugs you will not be affected. For the people who are on expensive drugs they will have a $2000 maximum out of pocket. Then 100% for remainder of the year.

This past week the San Angelo, Texas City Council learned that the United Healthcare Medicare Supplement premiums for their retirees were going to increase 62% for 2025 because of the Inflation Reduction Act.

The insurance carriers are assuming more risk in 2025 with the RX cost. I helped a client today who is on an orphan drug. 25k per month, she met her max of 8k in 2024. Next year her cost will be $2k. Between Medicare and the insurance company have to pay the rest.

@@TransitionHealthBenefits In our case, they are asking the retiree to assume the 62% increase. Most don't have such monies that the insurance company is retiring to maintain coverage. They are requiring the retirees to assume such costs...

yeah that is a big ask. If on a group plan they may want to seek some alternatives. If a true group plan they would have guaranteed issue outside of the group plan.

$2000 max is a nice upgrade vs $8000 in 2024.

Yep, thank you Joe Bidon that now everybody who doesn’t take meds or has maybe 2 low cost prescriptions, gets to pay the hidden costs for everybody by raising their monthly rates 2 to 3 times more. What a wonderful idea. Costs nobody nothing except those who fall in the mid poverty level. It used to be the middle class but once again, thank you Joe Bidon for eliminating us.
