Thank you! My understanding is that the monthly plan premiums don't count towards the part D 2K cap but the $590. deductible does. Excellent info, thanks.
@@MedicareSchool, now I am more confused because I was looking at medicare.gov 2026 part d plans and being told my drugs would cost me 10,000 a year! Sigh
Marvin, is they a website available to the public to compare insurance coverage for the medications, I take to see which one to choose? You did an edit where you compared coverage a while ago.
You can use our site to compare plan (please be aware that we do not offer all plans on this site): medicareschool.com/rx-aep/ . Or you can go to Medicare.gov as well. They would have all the available plans in your area.
You are one of my favorites and have helped me understand so much in the Medicare world! Your videos are so informative and helpful. I know I’ve said this before but you rock!! Thanks so much🙏🏻👏🏼
Thank you so much for your videos. They are so very helpful. I am SO excited that the Donut Hole is gone! I used to end up there every year in the summer BUT I never got into the catastrophic! I have no idea why they ever put that in the medication.
It is possibility, you can ask for formulary exceptions from your provider to the drug plan carrier. Just explaining why you need that prescription included in the formulary based on your diagnosis. They can take this into consideration.

Meds are coming every 90 days from mail order. How does that calculate for a payment plan? I have a stand alone prescription plan D. I have one tier three medication, Eliquis. The other meds are low cost Losartan, flecainide and diltiazem.
did I miss if the 2K monthly payment plan and/or the $590. deductible can be electronically deducted from your ss check or personal checking account? the $590. deductible might have to be paid at the pharmacy. thanks again for all your help. Cigna is being bought out btw which might get interesting.
Medicare School Question ; The way you explained this , indicates someone like myself a diabetic on ozempic , and my first time date starting Part D on Oct 1st , 2025 before starting the new year 2026. For 2025 would be $2000 cap for Oct , Nov, December 2025 would be $666.67 a month. Did I miss something here ???
Towards the end of the video, he noted that this payment plan might not fit someone enrolling in the plan after September with the start date of October. Depending on the cost of medication, it may work out in the clients favor to simply pay for the medications at the pharmacy😊every persons situation will differ. Hope that helps.
There are enhanced medicare plans which has a different back end TROOP calculation which will help customers hit $0 a lot quick without paying $2000 max out of pocket
Yes I pay $105 for insulin every 3 months but I take two different insulin so it's actually $210 every 3 months. Plus pay part G premium. I talked to my broker about switching to part N or an Advantage plan. Decided to hold off on a decision until I retire in another year or so. Medicare pricing is outrageous.

Great information, but please SLOW DOWN. This is exhausting. You and many people watching may understand what you’re telling us, but you are sharing it way too fast for those of us it’s new to. **A trainer should always be speaking to the LEAST informed person in the room, not those who already have the bulk of the information.** Please, take a breath and share with the rest of us.

That is correct!

27:36 - Most pharma savings programs specifically state the program is not available to patients on Medicare.
Thank you for explaining this program.

Glad it was helpful!

Of course, that is what we are here for!

Understand, no need to enroll in a payment plan in my case. Thanks. Looks like only for stand alone Part D plans.

The doughnut whole has been replaced with the apple fritter hole.
Isn't it likely with the $2,000 cap that insurance companies now will begin to drop more expensive medications from their formularies?
It is possibility, you can ask for formulary exceptions from your provider to the drug plan carrier. Just explaining why you need that prescription included in the formulary based on your diagnosis. They can take this into consideration.
@@MedicareSchool I hope you're right. We're going to see how this plays out.
Advair is not covered, how best to proceed so I don’t pay for the medication plus the 2K out of pocket. HELP

@@MedicareSchool thank you, I have sent my doctor a request. They said the exception request has to come from him.
Do you mean it’s not covered at all or just by your particular part D plan?

Those will look different for everyone, you will want to speak with the person that helped you set up a payment plan directly.
Does the deductible count towards the 2,000? Meaning 2,000 less deductible = remaining out of pocket.
The deductible does go toward the $2000 max out of pocket!
Does this payment plan have any effect on a Plan C? I really do not need a payment plan.
If I enroll in the plan can I pay the balance off early?
They may allow you to do so, I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to.

Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to have it deducted from SS or a checking account. They will bill you month to month for the payment plan option.

We pay $105. for insulin. We have Part G. I don't think that is right at all!
Do you have a part D or not? Part G does not pay for drugs.
Will my premium be one fee plus $2000?
Monthly premiums do not count towards the $2000 cap. So you will still pay your premium even after the cap has been met.
I often use good rx or SingleCare coupons to reduce my rx costs so the payment rx plan would not allow that
You are great at explaining things but please slow down. My mind doesn't think that fast😳

Just like a car payment. The car i cant afford
This..
If a person gets a flu shot how is the shot handled?
That would be covered by Medicare Part B
