Tenzin would have easily beaten zaheer in a 1 on 1 he didn't get hit once in their duel as he is a true airbending master, and has mastered its movement, unlike zaheer who is self taught.
As someone who browses trough Avatar VS battles daily, completely agree. And the rest is also wierd. Prime kyoshi below iroh, Toph above Korra, Ozai above Korra (I think its all elements) and more baloney.
Character is everything after all, Korra still whooped powerful characters than her all because their characteristics were awful, that can't be changed so it comes with whatever ability you bring, unless if you want him to say "if." The shows ended leaving these characters that way and that's how we all see should judge them

He trained with Dragons and Iroh when he was 16, discovering true fire bending and mastering Dragon’s fire before he was 20 and also mastered jet propulsion and lightning generation. You add that he already mastered lightning redirection and he is probably the most complete firebender. You have to keep in mind that Azula never got to develop all of her power bc she was crazy, and that the only one who knew true firebending was Iroh, the difference is that Iroh mastered true fire-bending being an adult (between 40 & 50 years-old) and Zuko did at 16, so the last had much more time to perfect it and improve it… And we can’t forget Zuko was in the top 5 of non bending fighters (Ty Lee, Jet, Piandao, Suki)
technically his bloodbending was overpowered by korra ( barely but not even in avatar state ), even tho it was for plot convenience but yeah ... he didn't really lose a fair 1v1

CBR forgot Tarrlok and Yakone. Yakone even bested aang and Toph before aang went in the avatar state. And Tarrlok beat Korra. Also avatars like Roku, Yangchen maybe even kuruk. Also Hamma is a great waterbender and also bloodbender. Also Master Jeong Jeong is clearly more powerfull then Zuko and Azula
To me Toph is the most powerful non-avatar bender to ever live. She was not only a powerful bender, but she created 2 bending techniques on her own (Seismic sense and metalbending). She also was able to sandbend just after watching the sandbenders bend.
So tenzin is ranked lower than zaheer but he was able to beat zaheer and take on ghazan, Ming hua, and zaheer without any real struggle until p’li (who was at sniping range) interfered twice🙂🙂🙂

@@CalebCossey The ability to fly is a sign of a good airbender but not necessarily a good fighter. What would be Zaheer be able to do that Tenzin can't beat? Come at him from a different angle? Pick him up and drop him? Tenzin could probably use his bending to break the fall. I don't see Tenzin losing to Zaheer.
This list is completely wrong. JINORA above AMON?! What is she gonna do against him if he doesn‘t get cocky? And even then, Korra and Mako got utterly wiped and Korras bending got wiped before they pulled out a deus ex machina and somehow won.
That wasn't a deus ex machina. Korra was able to airbend because the combination of losing her bending and seeing Mako in danger opened her mind to all possibilities. And Amon had plenty of chance to fight back, but Korra resisted his grip and defenestrated him.

Korra wasn‘t able to resist the grip of a Tarrlok she just hit with a rock wall and blasted him down with 50 rocks down atleast a story, why should Korra or Mako be able to resist Amon, who is canonically way stronger? And if you argue that Instalightning is a no-movement based move, which still wouldn‘t be able to be pulled out imo but ok, how would characters who do not have instant lightning (Ozais lightning still has a second of charge time, enough to hinder Ozai to shoot it, and Irohs/Azulas lightning is too slow, at least counting in Azulas EoS version) even tag him once, like Jinora?
@@brawlstarspro9354 Well, believe it or not. Bloodbending can be resisted through sheer strength of will (though not as effectively as being a superior waterbender). The only reason she couldn't resist Tarrlok is because she wasn't as driven in that situation and was shocked at Tarrlok's revelation. And Mako only resisted Amon because he was lucky. He had already charged before being bloodbent, so all he had to do was point at Amon and release the lightning.
@@vetarlittorf1807 Resisting bloodbending trough sheer stength of will is not lore, but common sense breaking. I mean someone is activly moving something inside of your body. The only thing that makes sense if if someone has lots of muscle power and moves his body and minimizes the control a bit. And imo only a stronger BLOODbender can resist another bloodbenders grip. Katara was a bloodbender when she resisted Hama. Amon was a bloodbender when resisting Tarrlok. And when did Mako charge that lightning bolt? The only times we saw someone release a bolt with no charge time was either trough a cut (Iroh, Azula in S&S) or they were still making gestures with their hands. Mako however made that bolt without any gesture. Its like punching someone without moving your arm. So the scene is PIS and it doesn‘t make sense.
@@brawlstarspro9354 By that logic, being a superior waterbender (and no, Katara wasn't a bloodbender when she resisted Hama) shouldn't work either. Nor should the Avatar State. Bending lightning is not comparable to punching since punching is strictly physical whereas lightning is both spiritual and physical. Mako was charging the lightning. Charging lightning requires you to separate the internal negative and positive energies. The circular motions are just to enhance its destructive potential. So since Mako only separated the internal energies in a hurry and used minimal movements to enhance it, the lightning was only powerful enough to tase Amon. Heck, in the Kyoshi books, Xu Ping An was able to shoot MULTIPLE lightning bolts with no movement at all.
I wanted to mention that I feel Zuko doesnt get enough credit for his bending because he's compared to Azula. He has a great talent in controlling his body temperature as we see in the boiling rock and when he melts the ice above him in the northern water tribe. After learning the true secrets of firebeding from the dragons (the original firebenders) I would argue that he became on of the best firebenders in the series. Not to mention his ability to redirect lightning from the strongest firebender in ATLA. Adult Zuko was a true master

I read the novels, I disagree. What I've seen thus far is that, while strong, she has a tendency to lose to those who are more skilled and precise. Case in point, she was vastly more powerful than both Jianzhu and Yun yet could only stalemate the former and only defeat the latter by means of trickery (this being even after she had the help of Wong, Kirima, Jinpa and Rangi). Even arguing that Kyoshi is more powerful is a bit contentious seeing as, unlike Aang and Korra, she lacks the ability to bend energy. This technique allowed Aang to remove a person's bending and Korra to tank an attack capable of boring holes in mountains.
Amon needs to be higher then everyone but kyoshi Korra and aang literally has blood bending not only that he literally can take people's bending I think we under estimate how powerful that move is
Not so sure Jinora could be the “youngest-ever” airbending master. Aang was already a master at 12, which leads me to believe he would’ve been younger when he got his tattoos.
I'd say any/all Avatars are pretty much, by default, amungst the most powerful Benders in the franchise, given the fact that the have mastery over all four bending styles.
the novels would provide good source material to animate. Like if we’re talking mass appeal, kyoshi would be a way more popular show than kuruk or yangchen. She’s also an earth bending primary avatar, which we haven’t seen anything of animated. (Other than the 1 scene we see her bending in)

Amon should be the strongest one that is not the Avatar. He could beat any bender without moving a muscle, and take his bending easily. The only one can avoid the affect is the Avatars and more powerful blood benders, and Amon is the strongest blood bender. Tenzin also should be higher ranked then Zaheer, since he kick is ass until the other members of the red lotus helped him defeat Tenzin. Zaheer was extremely good as a beginner, and he could levitating, which Tenzin couldn't, and yet, Tenzin had years of training under the Avatar itself, with all the wisdom he possessed from his predecessors. I also think that before her emotional breaking, Azula was a better fire bender compare to Zuko, but they were equal at the last battle, and Zuko had all the time after the series to master his fire bending, so their places in the list are looking right to me. Kora also suppose to be stronger then Kyoshi and Aang, since she can enter avatar state at will to gain their power and abilities, and that is why all the Avatars are the strongest benders, maybe except the earliest Avatars. Also, it's kind of a shame to forget to put Paku and Jong Jong in the list, since both have been refereed to as the greatest of their bending, and that including that first blood bender, which her name I forgot. they at list got to be close to Bumi, right under Iroh and Ozai. You also forgot Appa, the greatest Air bender of all time :)
I like how Iroh said Ozai was stronger, yet Iroh ranks higher on this list. Also, Tenzin was doing pretty well against Zaheer during their fight. I think he would have won had Zaheer not had backup. And there is a lot of evidence for Amon being the strongest on this list. His blood bending is far stronger than Katara's. I would say Amon is the second strongest on this list (Aang being the strongest). There is an argument to be made that Kora could defeat Amon at her peak (the Avatar state seems to break blood bending). Can you really argue that Iroh, Toph, or Ozai could stand up to Amon? Amon was OP. The writers had to take him down the way they did for a reason.

Hey, I have a theory about fire bending, Powerful fire benders have the ability to bend thunders, right? So, just like water benders can bend blood, air benders can bend the air to suffocate, and (in theory) earth benders can bend blood, some fire bender could bend brain synapses and nervous signals, in other words bending the mind or even the muscles movement,
They can't bend electricity that way.They can create it and redirect it .If they are to bend brain synapses,they have to physically catch those electric signals and then bend it.Thst is impossible.

I'd say Zuko is a medium fire bender. Kuvira should have been on the list of most powerful benders. Less Avatars because, they control all elements and have the Avatar state, Toph is arguably THE strongest bender of all time. When they were in the desert at the spirit Library she held up the building solo as it was sinking in sand, her bending had the strength to hold up an entire building.

By the end of the series Zuko was fighting toe to toe with Azula who is a firebending prodigy and also do not forget Zuko mastered the original way of firebending with dragons Kuvira i doubt could beat anyone on this list at all I am still confused as to why she was made the final villain for Korra in the series. Zaheer or Amon would have been way more fitting as they posed more of a dangerous threat. Amon could have easily dispatched Kuvira in seconds with his blood bending

I want to start this by emphasizing that I have yet to watch the last Airbender, however I have watched korra so I will be giving my thoughts on the legend of korra side of this list. 1) I think it’s unfair to have the avatar in this list as the avatar is the most broken character in the show. Aang, kyoshi, korra, rokko etc are all stronger then non avatar benders and should have a ranking list that pertains to them only. Avatar state is the most broken thing in the series. It is even shown to be more broken then the second most broken thing in the series, bloodbending as neither korra nor aang were affected by blood bending when in their avatar state. Putting wan below anybody that’s not an avatar is an insult to me and my pubic hair. 2) Amon should be so much higher on this list. Honestly I think Amon should be the only one below the avatars. Bloodbending is incredibly broken especially when you’re able to telepathically bloodbend like Amon. Not to mention Amon didn’t need the moon to be full in order to bloodbend, not to mention Amon is the only person who wasn’t the avatar that was able to take away people’s bending. Not to mention amon is proficient at martial arts and was able to dodge and evade korra’s and mako’s attacks amongst other people. Bloodbending is the most broken thing outside of the avatar state. Only the avatar in the avatar state can beat bloodbending as I said they seem to be unaffected by bloodbending when in avatar state. 3) if you think zaheer is stronger then tenzin you’re smoking dick. Tenzin is an airbending master with at least 5 decades of airbending mastery. Zaheer has only been airbending for like idk 3 weeks. Now while it’s extremely impressive what zaheer was able to do with only being an airbender for 3 weeks, he would still lose against tenzin’s decades of air bending mastery. As a matter of fact my boy zaheer was getting washed by tenzin in their fight, and the best part is that tenzin wasn’t even breaking a sweat. Dude was toying around with zaheer. It took the other 3 red lotus members popping up and quad teaming tenzin in order to beat him. Now, if zaheer had 3 or more decades of air bending experience instead of 3 weeks then this would be a different argument. He does seem to be a natural and he was proficient at martial arts before he acquired air bending. Not to mention he’s studied air bending for years before even obtaining the power to air bend. In short, given the context of the show, tenzin is stronger then zaheer by far. If zaheer had a lot more years of experience with airbending this would be a different argument. 4) Genorah jinorah genjutsu whatever her name is being on this list is laughable. While I do like genjutsu’s character, I don’t think she has any spot in the top 30 characters let alone 15. Cant speak on the rest as again i haven’t watched the last airbender. Only thing I can say is that I find it very hard to believe that anybody from the last airbender, besides aang, is able to hang with Amon. Bloodbending is just…. Too good dawg. Blood bending is the saitama of avatar. Broken for absolutely no reason

If you also take into account comics, Kemzula is the by far the strongest non Avatar bender in ATLA history. False Avatar Yun also has a strong case. Prime Toph does as well, but we never actually see an adult Prime Toph fight. Also if you’re factoring in the Avatar state, all the Avatars should be equal except Wan, considering that they use the powers of all the past Avatars. But if you’re only looking at base mode Avatars, Kyoshi easily by far has the most impressive feats. Kyoshi is the only Avatar we’ve seen fight in her prime. Aang and Korra are both young learning Avatars and Roku is an old man in the ATLA flashbacks.

Honestly i don't think that Toph INVENTED metal bending. You remember the Guru talking about metal being part of earthbending? How would he know that metal can be bend like earth if metalbending didn't exist yet?
Tbh I agree with this list. Bloodbending gets too much credit for starters. Sure you can stop your enemies, but I saw lavabending level the air temple in minutes. I think that is far more useful. Combustion bending has been shown to work like a literal tank shell from extreme distance, and I've only seen bloodbenders use it up close. I'm just saying that there are far more powerful benders than bloodbenders. They aren't the top of the food chain.
I understand what you mean, but not only does Amon blood-bend it’s the fact that he can literally take peoples bending away and control them with his mind what makes him so overpowered. Not to mention that he doesn’t even use a full moon to do so. It’s really not overrated,if anything he’s clearly underrated as the strongest villain in the series

I would by ten Amons the only people that could reliably beat them are people with the avatar state. Airbenders would pose a bigger chalange but would still be doable. Earthbenders if they get the drop on them could do damage but would still be taken down. Also my boy Ghazan was dissed. Think about it. Toph without earth and metal is basically helpless while Ghazan is still a threath.
Azula must be higher at least top 5 and i think korra should be 1st im sorry for every aang fan but if he fought korra he would lose each and every time
Kyoshi should have been number one. She not only had a mastery of the elements seen in very few avatars (including lava bending). She was also a master of chi being able to extend her life to 230 years.
Not including avatars the strongest bender in my opinion was Ozai, I feel in a straight fight he'd beat any bender from korra, he is the strongest firebender and I think that even people like bumi would get demolished by Ozai, also Tenzin is stronger than Zaheer even beating him up the entire time till red lotus saved Zaheer

To me Toph is the most powerful non-avatar bender to ever live. She was not only a powerful bender, but she created 2 bending techniques on her own (Seismic sense and metalbending). She also was able to sandbend just after watching the sandbenders bend.

@@CalebCossey The ability to fly is a sign of a good airbender but not necessarily a good fighter. What would be Zaheer be able to do that Tenzin can't beat? Come at him from a different angle? Pick him up and drop him? Tenzin could probably use his bending to break the fall.

This list is completely wrong. JINORA above AMON?! What is she gonna do against him if he doesn‘t get cocky? And even then, Korra and Mako got utterly wiped and Korras bending got wiped before they pulled out a deus ex machina and somehow won.
That wasn't a deus ex machina. Korra was able to airbend because the combination of losing her bending and seeing Mako in danger opened her mind to all possibilities. And Amon had plenty of chance to fight back, but Korra resisted his grip and defenestrated him.

And if you argue that Instalightning is a no-movement based move, which still wouldn‘t be able to be pulled out imo but ok, how would characters who do not have instant lightning (Ozais lightning still has a second of charge time, enough to hinder Ozai to shoot it, and Irohs/Azulas lightning is too slow, at least counting in Azulas EoS version) even tag him once, like Jinora?
@@brawlstarspro9354 Well, believe it or not. Bloodbending can be resisted through sheer strength of will (though not as effectively as being a superior waterbender). The only reason she couldn't resist Tarrlok is because she wasn't as driven in that situation and was shocked at Tarrlok's revelation. And Mako only resisted Amon because he was lucky. He had already charged before being bloodbent, so all he had to do was point at Amon and release the lightning.

The only thing that makes sense if if someone has lots of muscle power and moves his body and minimizes the control a bit. And imo only a stronger BLOODbender can resist another bloodbenders grip. Katara was a bloodbender when she resisted Hama. Amon was a bloodbender when resisting Tarrlok.
And when did Mako charge that lightning bolt? The only times we saw someone release a bolt with no charge time was either trough a cut (Iroh, Azula in S&S) or they were still making gestures with their hands. Mako however made that bolt without any gesture. Its like punching someone without moving your arm.
So the scene is PIS and it doesn‘t make sense.

Bending lightning is not comparable to punching since punching is strictly physical whereas lightning is both spiritual and physical. Mako was charging the lightning. Charging lightning requires you to separate the internal negative and positive energies. The circular motions are just to enhance its destructive potential. So since Mako only separated the internal energies in a hurry and used minimal movements to enhance it, the lightning was only powerful enough to tase Amon.
Heck, in the Kyoshi books, Xu Ping An was able to shoot MULTIPLE lightning bolts with no movement at all.
I wanted to mention that I feel Zuko doesnt get enough credit for his bending because he's compared to Azula. He has a great talent in controlling his body temperature as we see in the boiling rock and when he melts the ice above him in the northern water tribe. After learning the true secrets of firebeding from the dragons (the original firebenders) I would argue that he became on of the best firebenders in the series. Not to mention his ability to redirect lightning from the strongest firebender in ATLA. Adult Zuko was a true master

I read the novels, I disagree. What I've seen thus far is that, while strong, she has a tendency to lose to those who are more skilled and precise. Case in point, she was vastly more powerful than both Jianzhu and Yun yet could only stalemate the former and only defeat the latter by means of trickery (this being even after she had the help of Wong, Kirima, Jinpa and Rangi). Even arguing that Kyoshi is more powerful is a bit contentious seeing as, unlike Aang and Korra, she lacks the ability to bend energy. This technique allowed Aang to remove a person's bending and Korra to tank an attack capable of boring holes in mountains.

Amon should be the strongest one that is not the Avatar. He could beat any bender without moving a muscle, and take his bending easily. The only one can avoid the affect is the Avatars and more powerful blood benders, and Amon is the strongest blood bender.
Tenzin also should be higher ranked then Zaheer, since he kick is ass until the other members of the red lotus helped him defeat Tenzin. Zaheer was extremely good as a beginner, and he could levitating, which Tenzin couldn't, and yet, Tenzin had years of training under the Avatar itself, with all the wisdom he possessed from his predecessors.
I also think that before her emotional breaking, Azula was a better fire bender compare to Zuko, but they were equal at the last battle, and Zuko had all the time after the series to master his fire bending, so their places in the list are looking right to me.
Kora also suppose to be stronger then Kyoshi and Aang, since she can enter avatar state at will to gain their power and abilities, and that is why all the Avatars are the strongest benders, maybe except the earliest Avatars.
Also, it's kind of a shame to forget to put Paku and Jong Jong in the list, since both have been refereed to as the greatest of their bending, and that including that first blood bender, which her name I forgot. they at list got to be close to Bumi, right under Iroh and Ozai.

I like how Iroh said Ozai was stronger, yet Iroh ranks higher on this list. Also, Tenzin was doing pretty well against Zaheer during their fight. I think he would have won had Zaheer not had backup. And there is a lot of evidence for Amon being the strongest on this list. His blood bending is far stronger than Katara's. I would say Amon is the second strongest on this list (Aang being the strongest). There is an argument to be made that Kora could defeat Amon at her peak (the Avatar state seems to break blood bending). Can you really argue that Iroh, Toph, or Ozai could stand up to Amon? Amon was OP. The writers had to take him down the way they did for a reason.

Powerful fire benders have the ability to bend thunders, right? So, just like water benders can bend blood, air benders can bend the air to suffocate, and (in theory) earth benders can bend blood, some fire bender could bend brain synapses and nervous signals, in other words bending the mind or even the muscles movement,
They can't bend electricity that way.They can create it and redirect it .If they are to bend brain synapses,they have to physically catch those electric signals and then bend it.Thst is impossible.

I'd say Zuko is a medium fire bender. Kuvira should have been on the list of most powerful benders. Less Avatars because, they control all elements and have the Avatar state, Toph is arguably THE strongest bender of all time. When they were in the desert at the spirit Library she held up the building solo as it was sinking in sand, her bending had the strength to hold up an entire building.

By the end of the series Zuko was fighting toe to toe with Azula who is a firebending prodigy and also do not forget Zuko mastered the original way of firebending with dragons Kuvira i doubt could beat anyone on this list at all I am still confused as to why she was made the final villain for Korra in the series. Zaheer or Amon would have been way more fitting as they posed more of a dangerous threat. Amon could have easily dispatched Kuvira in seconds with his blood bending

I want to start this by emphasizing that I have yet to watch the last Airbender, however I have watched korra so I will be giving my thoughts on the legend of korra side of this list.
1) I think it’s unfair to have the avatar in this list as the avatar is the most broken character in the show. Aang, kyoshi, korra, rokko etc are all stronger then non avatar benders and should have a ranking list that pertains to them only. Avatar state is the most broken thing in the series. It is even shown to be more broken then the second most broken thing in the series, bloodbending as neither korra nor aang were affected by blood bending when in their avatar state. Putting wan below anybody that’s not an avatar is an insult to me and my pubic hair.
2) Amon should be so much higher on this list. Honestly I think Amon should be the only one below the avatars. Bloodbending is incredibly broken especially when you’re able to telepathically bloodbend like Amon. Not to mention Amon didn’t need the moon to be full in order to bloodbend, not to mention Amon is the only person who wasn’t the avatar that was able to take away people’s bending. Not to mention amon is proficient at martial arts and was able to dodge and evade korra’s and mako’s attacks amongst other people. Bloodbending is the most broken thing outside of the avatar state. Only the avatar in the avatar state can beat bloodbending as I said they seem to be unaffected by bloodbending when in avatar state.
3) if you think zaheer is stronger then tenzin you’re smoking dick. Tenzin is an airbending master with at least 5 decades of airbending mastery. Zaheer has only been airbending for like idk 3 weeks. Now while it’s extremely impressive what zaheer was able to do with only being an airbender for 3 weeks, he would still lose against tenzin’s decades of air bending mastery. As a matter of fact my boy zaheer was getting washed by tenzin in their fight, and the best part is that tenzin wasn’t even breaking a sweat. Dude was toying around with zaheer. It took the other 3 red lotus members popping up and quad teaming tenzin in order to beat him. Now, if zaheer had 3 or more decades of air bending experience instead of 3 weeks then this would be a different argument. He does seem to be a natural and he was proficient at martial arts before he acquired air bending. Not to mention he’s studied air bending for years before even obtaining the power to air bend. In short, given the context of the show, tenzin is stronger then zaheer by far. If zaheer had a lot more years of experience with airbending this would be a different argument.
4) Genorah jinorah genjutsu whatever her name is being on this list is laughable. While I do like genjutsu’s character, I don’t think she has any spot in the top 30 characters let alone 15.
Cant speak on the rest as again i haven’t watched the last airbender. Only thing I can say is that I find it very hard to believe that anybody from the last airbender, besides aang, is able to hang with Amon. Bloodbending is just…. Too good dawg. Blood bending is the saitama of avatar. Broken for absolutely no reason

If you also take into account comics, Kemzula is the by far the strongest non Avatar bender in ATLA history. False Avatar Yun also has a strong case. Prime Toph does as well, but we never actually see an adult Prime Toph fight.
Also if you’re factoring in the Avatar state, all the Avatars should be equal except Wan, considering that they use the powers of all the past Avatars.
But if you’re only looking at base mode Avatars, Kyoshi easily by far has the most impressive feats. Kyoshi is the only Avatar we’ve seen fight in her prime. Aang and Korra are both young learning Avatars and Roku is an old man in the ATLA flashbacks.

Combustion bending has been shown to work like a literal tank shell from extreme distance, and I've only seen bloodbenders use it up close. This is the worst ranking of Avatar benders ever! Amon is the most powerful bender except the Avatar! He is a very excellent waterbender, excellent in combat, can dodge lightning, can do the psychic bloodbending (the most OP of all bending techiques), can take bending away for good! I strongly disagree with this rank! So stupid and inaccurate

Amon should be near the top. Here he is the bottom because he had to waterbend in front of people? Lol. He’s easily more powerful than Katara. The only benders he would lose to are the Avatars.

I would by ten Amons the only people that could reliably beat them are people with the avatar state. Airbenders would pose a bigger chalange but would still be doable.
Earthbenders if they get the drop on them could do damage but would still be taken down.
Also my boy Ghazan was dissed.
Think about it. Toph without earth and metal is basically helpless while Ghazan is still a threath.
She can Lavabend too tho so I mean yes hand to hand he has it but ehhh. She had her food over a pit of lava in the swamp.

Kyoshi should have been number one. She not only had a mastery of the elements seen in very few avatars (including lava bending). She was also a master of chi being able to extend her life to 230 years.

Not including avatars the strongest bender in my opinion was Ozai, I feel in a straight fight he'd beat any bender from korra, he is the strongest firebender and I think that even people like bumi would get demolished by Ozai, also Tenzin is stronger than Zaheer even beating him up the entire time till red lotus saved Zaheer
