@@IvanFranco120 They more of kill you _very_ quickly rather than kill you instantly. There is a moment where Mario's health shows up but it depletes quickly. Even falling in the lava just kills you outright making it a more true instant-death.

These spikes are like the thorns from Yoshi's Island, they can insta-kill anyone for an single hit.
