I had heard of some of these, but not all, and wasn't aware just how powerful some of these are, just by looking at the spreadsheet. Especially the Frostwolf Shaman Armored talent with the explanation was quite eye-opening, looking forward to that for PvE!
~90% win rate in PVP with this team. Started at launch. I’ve got about 3k PVP points. Nothing crazy but much more than anyone else in my 15 person guild. I’m free to play. I’m at 18 wins with this and I don’t think I’ve lost more than twice. Maybe three times? Rend is my leader. Earth elemental Drake Harpies Defies bandits SAFE pilot Angry Chickens I know … chickens? General tactic is: * click the switch * drop bandits or chickens in the center * drop rend or drake at your base to cross over and rain death on the rush for center control * SAFE pilot on bridge if needed * back up the left lane with harpies * drop miner in left lane * OFTEN the enemy is overwhelmed with a single rush. Dude, the chickens. There are definitely counters but they overwhelm a lot of minis and also bases. It’s almost like a 2 cost tank on a base because the base fire rate is so low. * switch to a rush for the enemy’s side turret. After attention on the base this often catches them off guard. * summon earth elemental to take base aggro as unbound * drop SAFE in a FAR corner of enemy base and it can go unnoticed by the enemy who summons things too far out to aggro that pilot. * once a rush is on, elemental and SAFE in the far corners. It forces defenders to split themselves and reduced AOE defender’s ability to do their job. This feels unfair.
Along the same lines of fire elemental putting earth shield on Drakk leader gives him both resistant and armored. Also his 50% increased elemental damage bonus to near enemies boosts frostwolf shaman’s damage and funny things like SAFE nukes
Came from Clash Royale. It’s funny to see how you can basically equate so many of the Warcraft cards to CR… right down to the elixir cost! XD thanks for the content!
quillboar - it feels like all that really matters is that it takes aggro quickly. The talent doesn't allow it to take aggro faster. It does allow it to do a small amount of additional damage. But, it's not really a DPS unit. Is two hits of DPS worth the talent? I'm not. familiar with the alternatives. I generally use my tanks primarily as damage absorbers and I'm less concerned with their DPS output. Though, you play more than me. Maybe I'm not making the most of my tanks.
@@antorixico could be. I’m still pretty early in the game. Only about 60 sigils and only about 3k pvp points. I find the Quillboar without talents to be pretty useful. It’s able to take aggro quickly and give my DPS the time they need to kill targets.
Got my Whelp Eggs to Uncommon last night and was able to buy the Flame Burst Talent this morning from the G.R.I.D. Time to blow up some Ogre Magi/Elven Huntress with them!
@@Excoundrel You do you, but objectively Sunder Armor is much more useful imo. There are plenty of other good siege units already and as you have said yourself Armored is a strong trait.
I'm glad I found your channel from your podcast. I disagree about Quillboar's talent. He isn't used for dmg, more for tanking and gaining agro, so him gaining 2 more attacks is negligible. Quillboar gains agro as soon as he starts to emerge so the timing is exactly the same in that regard. I'm not saying his other talents are better. Just that you probably could have left him off this list.
I think the tunnel vision talent means he has better trades in PvP, personally I prefer it compared to the others. Damage from other talents is very neglible
Flame burst/safe pilot/fast quillboar is an absolute cancer on the meta. Deletes viability for 70% of the roster and forces you to bring counters. Playing in Australia its non stop chinese/korean sweats with these talents in Rend/Baron decks even at plat 1

elemental+shaman or huntress+shaman are strong combos, I think that Raider(sunder armor) can be a good counter on defense

If we take the bristleback talent, will the damage from the talent procs when it's unburrowing? Ps: i don't have any talent yet
faster deploy time makes timing less concerning, it let you finish black iron miner, troll other quillboars or safe pilot in some circunstances.

Tunnel vision on quil is just nice if your slow to play. His damage is not what hes used for and he “taunts” instantly regardless
