Froob’s runs are always enjoyable and very easy to follow thanks to his excellent explanations. Not easy to do all that while speedrunning, so big thumbs up for that!
I'm glad someone else shares my burning hatred towards the catfights minigame. Really great run. Impressed by Froob's ability to do literally everything
Yakuza 4...you play as Taiga Saejima. He’s the “blood brother” to Goro Majima. Majima’s punishment with being the best cabaret manager in Yakuza 0 is correlated with his punishment for a hit gone wrong against an opposing gang boss that was meant to be a partnered effort to Saejima. Saejima wasn’t expelled, but he was caught and set for death row with the failed hit. After escaping the Okinawa penitentiary, Saejima seeks revenge and closure for Majima’s mishap. Believing that Majima had betrayed him during the hit by not assisting Saejima, Saejima discovers that their plot to take out the opposing gang leader was leaked and Majima was punished and tortured. So to answer your question, Majima and Saejima never quit being Yakuza. If anything, they act as the pillars of the Tojo clan, often being the front line and last line of defense. Kiryu remains as the foundation for Tojo. Although he tries his best to leave in Yakuza 0, the rest of the series shows his whole story of redemption and unbearable burden being carried by himself and with his friends. Learn about the plot of Yakuza 6, that should answer your question indefinitely🤝
In all fairness, the games are only called "Yakuza" in the west for localization reasons. In Japanese the series title is "Like a Dragon", which is much more ambiguous and doesn't imply you're part of any criminal organization.
You basically play as an ex yakuza 90% of the time. The other 10% you play as a teenage girl and a broke ex baseball player. The game was always called „Like a Dragon“ in Japan, and now they call it Like a Dragon in the west too. The games are amazing though, no matter how they‘re called.
Froob doing the runner, commentator, and donation reader all at the same time again? Does the dude like running a marathon solo or something?

I got REALLY Addicted to the Cabaret Game in Yakuza Kiwami 2 What the Fuck ? I played it straight for 4 hours per day.
This is soo Entertaining makes me forget its a Speedrun
Best fights are Kuze because they have the best song Pledge of Demon
Reminder that Kiryu has never killed a man.
I would have never expected anyone to even try to seriously treat Yakuza as a speed game lol.
I stumbled upon this my jaw dropped like HOLY
No people were killed (at the hands of Kiryu or Majima) during the process of this Speedrun.
Many people were killed at froob's hands though
Great run mate
Holy Shit this Game Looks Good on PC
Lots of music sync moments in that first long battle, huh?
Donatious Generations!
People here are able to complete Yakuza 0 in 4 Hours, It took me over 58 Hours... Keep in mind i was pretty much were doing all side quests as well.
Slugger is bat
would the car shootout sequence be better done with mouse and keyboard?? so many whiffs...
do ANY of the Yakuza games actually revolve around actually BEING a Yakuza, or are all of them about quitting?

@@hana-chan420 So what are the names of the Yakuza games in Japan?
@@twolikedanumba4272 "ryu ga gotoku", or "like a dragon" translated

1:21:30 Well yeah, because discord is garbage
Agreed
fuck yeah slugger style sucks, tell them froob
Only thing that annoys me in the run is the pronunciation of the title. Yak-uza its meant to be ya-kooza
That's interesting to know. I thought it was Yak-uza. I called it both, though.
