You make me feel like I just got home from an amazing tour. Thank you Nikki and Leigh it was wonderful… glad you got some alone time together ❤❤❤
of course we know Edam in Germany because of the cheese. But I didnt knew that Edam is such a lovely an very beautiful city! Next time we visit the Netherlands we will have a tour throu this city. Thanks for the walk throu that museum! Very nice. And the editing of the video ist great! Beautiful holidays Down Under for you three! Take care❤
I'm impressed by your throwing strength and accuracy!---I knew of the boarding up of windows when I toured Scotland, but your explanation of "daylight robbery" was the first I'd heard of how that term came into existence! Thanx!---I'm always so appreciative of all the tours you bring to us.
Leigh’s got the Spirit of Magnet Fishing back. Great video, liked the music added. This was a gorgeous little town, breathtakingly quaint. Just one thing, Leigh might require a little makeover. Bravo, love your baby and home, you’ve both worked so hard and deserve a spa day, a trim, a new shirt and pants. BRAVO.
I spent most of my life in England but never visited the Netherlands because to me it was eating or smoking grass or looking at ladies in windows…. What have I missed, you have done tourism a great service and given us a delightful show. A big thank you from NZ
Wow, Nicky, you sure have a lot to be proud of in your wonderful heritage... what beauty in the architecture, the talent of the artisans and cheese makers, the boats and the seafarers.. what a fantastic journey you took us on!! Leigh is so funny and you are great at the camera side of things, you are very talented videographer! I really wish the U.S. wasn't so quick to tear down old bldgs. to put up new plastic ones... I love that the people would hold old brick walls together with anything they could to keep them from falling. Wonderful fun video! Thank you so much.
I am glad to see you go back to you and Nicky exploring old places and magnet fishing. I like the other people you have been doing videos with too but sometimes it gets pretty chaotic. A friend or two is not as bad but with all that have been in the videos recently has been pretty destracting. They are great people but I like it better with you and Nicky.Beautiful area!
Hello from NYC, USA. Thank you and Nikki for taking us on your many adventures. My 97 year old mother and I enjoy the tours and the historical aspect. We also LOVE watching you magnet fish! 💞
Did you guys have fun in Australia? I’m sure your family loved you there. Great magnetic fishing Leigh and the camera work is amazing Nicky. Edam is a beautiful place I really enjoyed the scenery. Buildings are beautiful and fascinating. Have a fantastic weekend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜 Hugs for Johnny 🤗
Born and raised in Rotterdam i could never have tought that Edam is so very very nice! I love it.Definitely needs a visit! thanks Leigh & Nikki. I can see you rodfishing there with Johnny. And nice to hear that you already speak Dutch quite well Maybe you can use that old door hinge in your house or garden those small beds was because they were sleeping while sitting. From the Middle Ages to the early 17th century, people slept sitting down because they were afraid they would die otherwise. They did this mainly because they thought that if you slept lying down, all the blood would run to your head and you would not survive.
I grew up in Holland, Michigan with Edam cheese. They have patterned the downtown to look much like Dutch buildings. I am enjoying the adventure through the beautiful cities of the Netherlands. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Hey Nicky!! How are you? You look great!! It was funny when Leigh said, Show your mug, all of a sudden, I could hear my dad‘s voice saying it to my mom and then my husband‘s voice saying it to me whenever we didn’t want to show our face. As soon as I saw this City and how cute it was, I went to Google Maps and I marked it as a place to go to visit because I think it’s so beautiful and quaint. This is the type of place I would love to live!! I think what’s happened is that maybe during the summer they could’ve had it drudged because I find it too clean. Don’t you think that way that it was just a little too clean for any type of water? Taking us through that old house was so cool. Every other room had high ceilings except for the bedroom, but I think that was because they wanted the warm air to stay in where the people were because we know that warmer air goes to the ceiling. I think that’s why they close the doors where the beds were because of the fact it keeps their body warmth and the warmth in that little space so they’re not freezing at night. We’re really spoiled nowadays at keeping nice and warm.🔥🔥 I really love that business that was painted all pink and then they had the pink bicycle outside it and yes, pink is my favourite colour!!!🥰🩷 Thank you for such an enjoyable video and for introducing us to Edam!!😍😍🥰🥰
Edam is beautiful. I for one would love to live there. This historic houses and more is amazing. I'd be in heaven with the history alone. Leigh I think you need a belt lolol. Great filming Nicky this video is amazing. Leigh and Nicky you both did an amazing job giving us a tour of that very old house. The beds often had doors to keep them warm at night from the cold winter nights. As often the fires would diminish before many woke up. Now I def want to go to Edam and live there. Have a great trip in Australia! See you all soon.
@@BondiTreasureHunter Maybe one day. Kinda tricky for a wheelchair user to travel that far from the states. But it is a dream. :) Have a great holiday visiting home!
That is such a beautiful city. I used to love eating Edam cheese but since having a heart transplant I'm not allowed to eat it anymore 😞. Always good to see you and Nikki out magnet fishing together. The old house was absolutely amazing, pity we don't have anything as old in Australia. That long piece of metal you found reminded me of a yoke from an old wagon or something similar. The Netherlands is a beautiful place and it would be great to tour around there.
In the early seventies I worked for FRYBEYE'S in Vancouver, Robson St. EDAM cheese was a top seller. My taste buds vividly recall it's taste. Later I worked in the "cellars" down by the Harbour, shipping this cheese and many, many meet products. Lunches always included a generous serving of everything deli. including this favorite. 52 years later I want to thank this family company for a magical and yummy work experience.
Hi Leigh and Nicky. That was a great video. Really enjoyed the combination of magnet fishing and the history. Edam is such a beautiful city, thank you for showing us. I used to work on a delicatessen many many years ago and they had a lot of different edam cheeses that came in different wax colours. I bet there is a lot of hidden treasure there just waiting to be found! Have a great weekend and keep them videos coming😊
What a beautiful city to explore. You definitely need to go back. Great to see Nicky back filming. She did such a wonderful job, capturing the beauty of the city.

That’s awesome! The Holy Moly is crazy but it’s perfect for old spots like this where things are deep on the mud 😃👌 Good luck and thanks for the support!
Hi, Leigh and Nicky. Loved the tour of Edam as much as I enjoyed the odd bits of treasure that you did find in the canal (plus it's nice that you both get to spend some quality time together). Like one of the other commenters said, I also thought the floating cellar in the old house was very cool. Thanks for sharing 👍
That thing at 24:50 looks like a giant rowlock. Just guessing. Edam cheese is a christmas tradition in Sweden, been eating it as long as I can remember. Although I had no idea it was such a beautiful place. Thank you for a really interesting tour! That old house with floating cellar was amazing! But I would feel so claustrophobic in those beds, I think I would have to lie with bended knees to fit and the air must be so thick in the morning all closed up. 😂 I absolutely love old stuff, so every time I watch your videos I'm always cheering for you to find old things. It is such an amazing thought, to be able to hold something no one has touched for like hundreds of years. The immediate thoughts of how it was back then, how everything looked, what was the person who held it last like, what happened when they lost it, the artifact it self etc. So cool! Imagine a intact treasure chest from back then! Thank you for a lovely video guys! ☀️
Edam cheese is one of my favourites! Surely you’d heard of the cheese if not the town? I can’t say I’d heard of the town myself though just because I knew about the cheese 😊 Thanks for showing us around it’s so beautiful. And beautiful weather to explore it!
Gorgeous tour. Thank You:) I just added Edam cheese to my grocery list. Haven't had that in quite a while. Good stuff! I'd love to make part of my basement look like that type of old house. So cool looking:)
Great video Leigh. I’m an English mudlarker and bottle digger living in Holland for 6 years. Always good to see it when you find old treasure. There’s a nice old city near me called Hattem and a little river inlet that seems to be exactly how it was in the 1600’s apart from being silted up. Also Elburg and Enkhuizen. All the best for Christmas James
My favorite part is the amazing tour guide and his cinematographer. Your love of treasure hunting and history really comes through. As you say, the scenery is definitely beautiful. Safe travels!❤️🙏😎
Another great video Leigh! I went to Noord Holland for the first time a couple of years back. Took day trips outside of Amsterdam. I caught a bus to Edam. It was a sunny spring day and the village was quiet and cosy. Lost my travel card in the streets but found it again after some back tracking for a while. Then I met a friendly couple from Costa Rica. I recommend visiting Edam 🙂
Leigh, you are the king of crusty poles, actually crusty full stop, Edam is a beautiful city, well preserved and clean, I have always loved Edam cheese so it was very good to see where it originated, lovely to see Nicky, you are both looking well and happy, love to little Johnny, cheers !!!👍👍
The house is really beautiful, and with the windows, i finally understand those Dutch paintings. You're right about the Delft tiles, small terra cotta food pots, and the onion bottles for wine or brandy. All are very good to find, great to see them as they would be used. The floating cellar is mind-boggling-ly smart.
Excellent as usual, absolutely loved the tour of the old house, hope you are going to show more of these. Good job filming Nikki. No doubt Johnny is getting spoiled by granny.
Hi from the UK 🇬🇧 what a fantastic old house thank you for showing it to us it's also a beautiful place if u could I would love to visit there but unfortunately I am housebound I love watching you and nicky again ty for sharing
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻 What a treat. A real visual feast. A truly beautiful country. Edam is as delightful as the cheese that was developed there. Your description, along with the visual results of daylight robbery. Was very interesting. I really enjoy it when you share things like that. Thank you both.
Like you said, it’s modern scaffolding. They were likely doing some refurbishing somewhere along that river and the scaffold fell in! The piece you asked about is a piece that braces the scaffold from corner to corner. You can see the clip that held it in place.
Absolutely beautiful city. I unfortunately, will not ever be able to travel OS , but you and Nicky will have to do it for me and share all your beautiful photos, videos
I am floored by that city! Stunning! And quiet and few ppl! I want to go to that chocolate store that was all pink behind you! Here in America you don't often see anything on the Nederlands

It was a sunny spring day and the village was quiet and cosy. Lost my travel card in the streets but found it again after some back tracking for a while. Then I met a friendly couple from Costa Rica.
I recommend visiting Edam 🙂
Sounds like you had a great time in Edam as well 😃👌
I was really surprised at how clean that water is. Being so old you would expect more treasures in them. Good on them for keeping it so clean.
Yeah it’s a but disappointing the waters are so clean but it’s also nice 😂
Leigh, you are the king of crusty poles, actually crusty full stop, Edam is a beautiful city, well preserved and clean, I have always loved Edam cheese so it was very good to see where it originated, lovely to see Nicky, you are both looking well and happy, love to little Johnny, cheers !!!👍👍
What a beautiful city! Thank you for showing us so much of the history of this wonderful place! 😊
Great seeing this lovely old city. Have a great holiday introducing Johnny to all your Australian friends and family.
You should start a travel channel, showing all the old cities & buildings ❤
Good thought!
Loved the video tour of the house and the town! ❤
For sure a touch of genius those floating cellars 😃👌
Excellent as usual, absolutely loved the tour of the old house, hope you are going to show more of these. Good job filming Nikki. No doubt Johnny is getting spoiled by granny.

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for joining 😃🤙
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻
What a treat. A real visual feast. A truly beautiful country. Edam is as delightful as the cheese that was developed there.
Your description, along with the visual results of daylight robbery. Was very interesting. I really enjoy it when you share things like that. Thank you both.
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😃🙌
Edam is so beautiful. The scenery looked like paintings.
Granny looking after Johnny? Very nice History lesson just as good as Magnet fishing
Awesome video, the floating cellar had me glued to the screen.
Thank you both for showing us a beautiful part of the world.
I love it when you show the history you find.
Absolutely loved the tour in the old house!
It’s a rare example of an original house from this period. Especially with the floating basement 😃👌
Edam cheese is sooo good, what a beautiful country, so amazing cities filled with history.
I lived in Holland for 6yrs. from the US it makes my feel good to return with you guys
Thanks for joining for the adventure! 😃👍
What a charming city!
Like you said, it’s modern scaffolding. They were likely doing some refurbishing somewhere along that river and the scaffold fell in!
The piece you asked about is a piece that braces the scaffold from corner to corner. You can see the clip that held it in place.
I don't think I'm the only one who would love a new episode from this beautiful town at least once a month 😉
Those old bits could be really cool in your garden.... a trellis of treasures or something!
Awesome tour! My favorite part is the floating cellar.
Yeah the cellar is really unique to see still working to this day 😃👍
I always ile watching your adventures. So positive. Beautiful place.
Absolutely beautiful city. I unfortunately, will not ever be able to travel OS , but you and Nicky will have to do it for me and share all your beautiful photos, videos
Showing the inside of that old house was amazing
Thanks for this Adventure! I really enjoyed it!
I subscribed when you had less than a 1000 subscribers. It’s something how your channel grew. Loved this video.
What a beautiful town. Maybe I’ll win the lottery and get to visit one of these days. ❤
I am floored by that city! Stunning! And quiet and few ppl! I want to go to that chocolate store that was all pink behind you! Here in America you don't often see anything on the Nederlands
