  • Have you ever seen the police arrest someone when they have little to no evidence to support the charge?
Ever wondered how and why they are able to get away with this?
In this video, Attorney Hannah Akintoye discusses the kinds of evidence that can be used to charge someone, and the difference between the evidence needed to charge vs. convict someone of a crime.

I wish i could hire you!!!
Even the judge told my attorney she needed more experience, it was a one sided disaster, losing several thousand dollars, jail, probation , now a criminal record life can be fun at times this is one of them

My father was a prosecutor and wouldn't take up his budget or the courts time on a weak case...if on flip of a coin case, there could be a plea bargain offered...it all depends on what there is to work with...he also had to protect the county from lawsuits, too...the police has to build a believable case..."he said she said" is not winnable.

I drove past a security camera, 6 minutes later it was struck by a hammer.
Because my logo states carpentry as apart of the name. I was made the suspect with no video of who did the damage.
I've been arrested, over a year and thousands of dollars later feel I'm going to prison.
The county where I live is your guilty the justice system is corrupt here.
My attorney asked the detective did you feel my client was without a doubt did it.
    He said yes.
My us constitution rights have been violated in several ways under 5th, 6th and 14th.
I plan to sue the city, judge, police and prosecutor

@@MyDcLaw Thank you for kind words.
I lost with a beginning attorney, a unjust court system, I have never been arrested until this matter, lost so badly a juror met me long after the trial 4 jurors voted not guilty, the foreman told them no-one leaves this room until made guiltily even the judge was threatening to them, was denied witnesses on my behalf, was denied evidence used against me and far more. When probation is over im gone, two friends moved o another state, another shops and does business elsewhere to support my cause

I’m not sure where you are located, but a good rule of thumb is to simply call the police. Usually when you call the police, and they believe that a crime has been committed, they will typically have to make a report and potentially follow up with a detective to investigate further.

@@MyDcLaw but if I don't have cctv footage, how to solve it?

Cyber crimes can be traced on the Internet. It would probably require an expert in the field to locate the IP address of the device that is being used to cyber bully. Hope this helps.

It seems like it ultimately is an arbitrary decision to prosecute or not. My understanding is that generally people only want to prosecute cases they can win, so unfortunately the decision to prosecute or not may not be wholly based on evidence, but rather statistically if they can win.
Does that ring true to you?

    • @MyDcLaw
      @MyDcLaw  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The decision to prosecute a case should be based on whether there is enough evidence to convict a person of a crime. Unfortunately that has not always been the case. Sometimes people are prosecuted on weak cases because they were found not-guilty on cases where the evidence was stronger. Other times prosecutors can be overzealous to win on a very violent or dangerous case because it makes the community feel safer when someone takes the fall for a serious crime.

@@MyDcLaw That makes sense! I definitely get the urge to prosecute violent cases, but that just makes it all the more important to get the right person :)
