The theme of this show is profound: how we deal with trauma and how not dealing with it passes it along. Billy acknowledges the harm he has done in response to his trauma. He honors those who he (inadvertently) took down. Unlike Wanda and Agatha, he tries to atone and to not lose hope and get caught in guilt and pain. Agatha is the only one who insists on passing on her trauma. Deep message. And this is ultimately why Billy as a less dramatic character ultimately works for me.
I don't think it was too much Billy. I think he was fascinating as a character because he was conflicted. I think they should have done more with him earlier in the show, though. As I think on it, I think the majority of frustrations could have been fixed with more episodes or generally longer run times.
Personally I don’t think there will be a season 2 tbh. I think there is a very high chance they will be doing a Wiccan(or Wiccan and Speed) show next with Agatha as his mentor. They left so much open with his character(identity crisis, search for his brother, his morality and the fact that he accidentally got people killed)that it’s obvious there will be something in the future for him I think Agatha dieing turning to a ghost losing her powers is the perfect punishment for her character. I can see her being explored further in Wiccan. Specially their relationship now that they are in a similar page. Jennifer is also a character they obviously have plans for in the future. I can see why Jac asked for more money I wish they did give it to her. I did not feel the budged restraints till the fight with death. We did not see Billy transform(hope we see that in the future) I just wish the fight just had a little flying. Like we know Agatha and Billy can’t really do much to Rio.
