Something I use to do when swapping v8's into that style truck was unbolt the main harness from the firewall and swap the engine harness it is actually 3 plugs all clipped together, forward lighting, rear lighting and engine harness. The biggest P.I.A is the black tar like grease that GM liked to use on that plug! Be safe in the upcoming storm. It sounds like it is headed for the Carolinas. Thanks for the video!

Hey buddy - making good progress on the 82 - it's very close - will be great to have it running again. Nice to see the donor truck there for the LS swap for the 64 - that will be awesome to see a 64 running with a modern engine. Thanks for thinking about the folks in Texas. You and your family stay safe with Irma coming.

These trucks have a nice 25 gallon tank with a good pump for proper psi,I think it'd be cool to use it if you could make it clear the driveshaft under the truck. It would be cool to have the storage behind the seat, Ive learned that once u get an extended cab or a four door truck you get spoiled and its cramped if you go back to a smaller cab!I know its the same fuel pump setup for all four engines(4.3 4.8 5.3 6.0) and the ecm controls the fuel pressure so i believe if you are staying fuel injected it could work.If you are going with a carburetor than I am clueless, but i cant wait to see!!!!

Damn, if you're ever in the baltimore/DC area I have cloth seats and fold down console out of my 04 silverado i'm not using. Driver's seat isn't perfect but it did the job. I put some cadillac seats and am working on a console for my truck. They're yours if you want 'em.

The truck isn't far from being a runner. Cool stuff. I think your right about the media. Feel bad for the folks in Texas, but I know they will recover. Hopefully soon. Great video.

Like what I am seeing, will not be long before you are out in the woods playing at Bragg. Did a lil stint there with the 82nd... good wheeling sandy but style fun.You going to add some lock out hubs? Are your diffs open in the frt & rear? Best thing I did to my '90 K5 was add a locker and ditch the auto-locking hubs. Saved on gas & wear and tear on the frt drive shaft. 1 last thing if you haven't already while you have it somewhat apart. It's a common problem on them I would re-enforce the frame were the steering box mounts with a steel plate. They are notorious for ripping the box off the frame when wheels are bound turning the wheel. Much easier to do it while you have the stuff out of the way. I learned the hard way 20yrs ago in my '77 K5. Just my 2 cents

grandprismatic I agree, won't take much to plate around the steering box. Idk what I'm going to do yet, kinda gotten over the 4wheeling and breaking stuff. But that could change as soon as I get this thing going and drive it again. Lol

Wheeling in the country is one thing if it is not your daily driver. Mudding... yea been there done that and got tired of drop a 20 at the car wash laying under my truck in a swim suit and MX goggles on. Always fun when it's not your truck lol. Cleaning is a nightmare IH8 mud. These day's just stick to dedicated trails with friends all link via: CB. 75% of the rigs are trailed to the places as being far from street legal.
