    I can dig it. Nicely done. In my day, '74 to '79 North Shore to Bells Beach and sitting way outside waiting at Mitchell's and seeing the sets arrive. Getting out pre dawn at the Hook at Santa Cruz 41st ave. Only surfer to make it out all to myself. I am an old man and my bones hurt. These video logs make me feel right young again after Vietnam. Thanks Coco for sharing.

      @@ronr.53400 Different time, different days and The places have changed. Not the waves or my memories of the drop and dance. The kick out and catching my board with my ankle....on to another. No surf leash on my boards. I swam and was careful. My ankle was ugly. The nurses at the Public Service Hospital in San Francisco were angles. Planning and timing are everything. Know your fast moving LOW pressure weather. Watch for high flying birds.
      I lived on 1$ a day in a VW Van with a dog on money saved after working in a mine in Australia.

    It’s so random out there, my best wave ever was a backside full curtain, was completely by accident just trying to survive the drop and make the bottom turn, then got spit out into daylight. When I came out I said my thanks to God for that gift. That wave traveled thousands of miles to get to me and I tapped into its energy.

      well me too. and it ended in a fight at the beach , he ended fighting with a guy from Venezuela who knock him out , real easy btw....after weeks of bullying me and my friends, hope he mature that horrible attitude and became a good person, cause even the real locals from puerto said he deserved it... everyone was real happy with him not in the lineup for a couple of days.. so a really different person you met from what I met those days.

    Its weird how “energy” drink companies sponsor these lifestyles....i think theres healthier ways to stay energized. Ways which do NOT support corporate crap. Did you know some athletes “sell out” to these destructive corporations in order to finance their passions even if they don’t actually support their product/actions/impact
    Why don’t I see more people talking about this in board-sports culture?

    • @chuckb8945
      @chuckb8945 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Caffeine is a great stimulant used all over the world. Dare devils make great spokesmen. Money talks and BS walks.

    • @lifeinservice2948
      @lifeinservice2948 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ChuckB theres better sources of caffeine which don’t have the processed garbage additives. Which also don’t support evil corporations. Some of these huge companies don’t care for our earthy mother, they choose profit over people. This old paradigm needs to shift for our children’s sake. Much love ❤️

    • @chuckb8945
      @chuckb8945 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lifeinservice2948 I don't like the taste of energy drinks. But there is nothing wrong with them unless you drink way to much. But some people are just stupid. What's evil about Red Bull? Corporations are just business models that have worked pretty well for 100s of years. It's the people in the corporations that make the difference- good bad smart stupid. Mother earth seems to be getting a little crowded with our children.

    • @PersonNotFound69

      A Journey Of Love because it pays bills and tastes good. If I’m surfing puerto my last concern is the Red Bull I just drank. Keep your hippie opinions to yourself please.

    Way too much ego driven intentions for surfing. Nature runs on it's own time and rhythm. Chasing waves and money is a contradiction near hypocritical.

    • @soartothesky

      Well said, I dislike the criminal profiles, the entire industry is like the mob. If you want it, you get up every day and do it. Globalizing it, or monetizing what you do is lame. Radical is not telling anyone you snuck some 25 foot bowl personal with nobody out that the crack of dawn made it in and out alive and nobody documented it. Where they live is this life at the center of the selfy. I don't like the life of people who are popular and need selfy, and in the end we didn't even see the helmet camera on. As the most important. Or the one on the board as the second most important. Much respect, the industry and money can suck our dicks. Everyone and their mother wanna be you at that 25 foot bowl, everyone, people would fake it with photoshop to make it too, hence the criminal profile, also it isn't clean, people would dope consume insane amounts of stimulants not just energy drink, like steroids and adderall, not surf all year but get in and be faster than everyone even in competition. I don't like it, and I never will. Its like playing chess why play chess if you know you are going to lose with people who don't practice but compete effortlessly doped up? Not worth it, its better surfing every day than following them around the world and knowing that they definitely can't afford the trips they make, where they sell drugs amongst themselves and all that criminal profile bullshit, smugglers, fraud etc. Like the mob, after they are under control they can't get out. Like heroin, junkies for life not just from drugs but from narcissism, never this inherent god like feeling of the human that feels he does things without the need to document it. The real rush, without looking at the camera not giving a flying fuck if teahupoo is 20 foot nights about to fall, but its yours ALONE and the boat is gone and you are gonna swim back paddle back, like a native, not like someone who paid for a boat or for a room, or focused more on the money and the little time he has there before he has to go wherever he come from, which is probably looking for another person to get a racket or extort for money to do it again, or business or gambling etc. Fuck the industry as a whole. At their level all they are focused are on conditions to make good pictures, not good surfing. Making sure everything is perfect to do another one and another one with the rules of media, and what sells, in a combination of oceans and public figure. Meaning they won't surf, if the pictures aren't good. The primordial reasons why I don't like them, where everything needs to be perfect so they could get a clip or a pic, and aren't from the lineup. Just pretty faces and some who have done it nearly forever for the magazines or from this group of people who only look for conditions and pictures to solidify what they do. Not hardcore people who aren't dopes, sponsored or known internationally who send it, daily, because daily you get better, swell in swell out in all types of conditions internationally. Like Andy Irons alone at the end of the road, and he just went, the same way he would go somewhere else by himself, and nobody cares if he was there but you know he was there, came and left alone and also died too young. Coco gets respect as the bottom line of what you give people you know in the water who send it. Coco if you read this, take care of that eye and te amo cabron. No te mueras.
