@FLYNN RYDER I think the Villains series is her best work. The tension is high throughout the books and the characters feel fully realized. Higher quality than Shades of Magic or Addie Larue imo. Would recommend.
So happy you interviewed V.E. Schwab, she is one of my favorite authors! So cool to hear her perspective on crafting her novels and the graphic novel companion to the villains series. :)
Oh, VE if you read this… go write your own bio/about on your website. The bio/about on your blog is you, it’s personable I can tell you wrote it from hearing you speak However, the website is clinical, dispassionate, dry tat. (Constructive criticism 😉)
I always love hearing VE Schwab talk about her process. I was also lucky enough to meet her in real life and she's so kind and really took her time talking with her fans. Really wonderful.
I gotta say, that was the best author interview yet. Great to see how excited she was about her work and about you understanding the themes she put in her books. Oh, and also the cats boviously. Love the content, man. Keep it up!
These interviews are great to watch, simply because the interviewee feels comfortable with being interviewed by Daniel. Keep these coming, i’m sure Daniel will one day interview greats like Stephen King.
just started following you about five months ago and I am pleasently surprised you did this interview. I absolutely love The invisible life of Addie LaRue. 😍 Thank you, Daniel.
The comic she mentions, The Wicked + The Divine, is my favorite comic of all time. it's extremely so very good and her mentioning it as an influence makes me extremely excited to pick up more of her stuff. her influences with mythology and godhood are also things I love. and I really enjoyed the 2 Villains novels definitely jumped way higher on my TBR
I think this might be the first time Daniel has interviewed an author whose work he hasn’t completely devoured. He likes Addie but didn’t like Shades, and never touched any other of her novels. Explains why it’s so focused on her graphic novel.
Wonderful interview! I think one of the best things about the internet is the access we mere mortals have to favorite authors, musicians, actors, creators. Thank you!
Daniel!! Your genuine connection and smile with everyone you interview is really seen and felt! I just love it. I haven’t seen an interview with Schwab before but she seemed so down to earth and interested in your questions, props to you for the atmosphere you created to allow authors to feel comfortable and engaged.
I was SO EXCITED when I saw this video pop up! A Darker Shade of Magic is one of my favourite book series of all time, but I love all of her books! 😍🤩 I'm really excited for these graphic novels! 😃
I have only read City of Ghosts by Schwab, but wow! She seems so excited about her craft in this video! I definitely want to read more by her now even if City of Ghosts wasn't my exact cup of tea.
I love her so much. I can't believe I never heard of steel prince before, I love the darker shade of magic trilogy and now I have to pick up those graphic novels.
Woohoo!! Been waiting for this since you read addie larue! VE Schwab has such great insight, I love listening to her. I follow her on instagram and she's great but HER CATS OMG. The flooffy one is so freaking adorable!!
Within only the first few minutes, an author finally expresses what I've been saying for years, in how lonely and isolating the writing process feels, because you never know if it's good enough until its in other people's hands. Well shit, guess I'll be checking out her books asap
How did I miss this ?! VE Schwab is so erudite and listening to her I really want to read her books. Unfortunately I haven’t really liked reading her novels 😅
I love your author interviews. I love hearing their different processes for how they create. I had no idea she wrote graphic novels. I’m going to try them out.
Who is this funny looking geezer interviewing V. E. Schwab? Is it per chance the man himself, Green Daniel? Oh yes! Oh yes! Oh yes, it is indeed Dan The Man Green being a rambunctious rascal whilst parttaking in thrilling and fulfilling conversation with The Once And Future King herself, and I don't mean T.H. White!
v.e. schwab just low-key gave us all an existential crisis...in the most cheerful way (good job!)
I love how excited she is! You can tell she loves the craft.
Stole the words from my fingertips 😀
@FLYNN RYDER I think the Villains series is her best work. The tension is high throughout the books and the characters feel fully realized. Higher quality than Shades of Magic or Addie Larue imo. Would recommend.
Daniel is really great with the interviews.
Daniel is great with asking questions. The wheel of time "blue carpet" is the perfect verification for my claim.
So happy you interviewed V.E. Schwab, she is one of my favorite authors! So cool to hear her perspective on crafting her novels and the graphic novel companion to the villains series. :)
Just listening to her talk about her worlds…
The enthusiasm and energy
I’m going to go read some of her book.
Oh, VE if you read this…
go write your own bio/about on your website.
The bio/about on your blog is you, it’s personable I can tell you wrote it from hearing you speak

Schwab has such a shiny personality. Makes me want to pick up more of her books.
Invisible Life was amazing. I really am glad you were able to talk with her about the role of death in her work. Really enjoyed this! Thanks!
She is the best! Have read nearly all of her books and loved them all, can't wait for Gallant next year!
It is always such a pleasure getting to listen to VE Schwab talk about her craft. I can’t wait to see her again in person once it is safe to.
Great interview. I have never read anything by her and now I will make a point to do so in the very near future.
I always love hearing VE Schwab talk about her process. I was also lucky enough to meet her in real life and she's so kind and really took her time talking with her fans. Really wonderful.

What a brilliant woman, her words are a joy to listen to.
getting a surprise notification for an interview with my favorite author>>>
I gotta say man, good for you - getting these interviews under your belt is awesome and says a lot about the quality of your channel!
Yay more interviews!!
This interview has pushed Schwab into a must read author for me. Thanks for the great video!
These interviews are great to watch, simply because the interviewee feels comfortable with being interviewed by Daniel. Keep these coming, i’m sure Daniel will one day interview greats like Stephen King.
Daniel will be a great himself!
Excited for him to one day interview irl on a set! (if that's what he wants to do)
So Sanderson isn't one of the greats then? 😆
just started following you about five months ago and I am pleasently surprised you did this interview. I absolutely love The invisible life of Addie LaRue. 😍 Thank you, Daniel.
The interviews are always great
One of my favorite authors! Thanks for this interview Daniel.
Yooo looking forward to this, Addie was one of the best things I read this year!
The comic she mentions, The Wicked + The Divine, is my favorite comic of all time. it's extremely so very good and her mentioning it as an influence makes me extremely excited to pick up more of her stuff.
her influences with mythology and godhood are also things I love. and I really enjoyed the 2 Villains novels
definitely jumped way higher on my TBR
Wonderful interview! Relaxed vibe. Genuine excitement about the subject matter. Incredible. Also, MORE PLS
I wasn’t going to check this out, but now I will. Shades of magic was such an unexpected find for me and I loved Addie Larue so I have confidence!
Loved the interview and love her books. My favorite is the Villians/EO series
I think this might be the first time Daniel has interviewed an author whose work he hasn’t completely devoured. He likes Addie but didn’t like Shades, and never touched any other of her novels.
Explains why it’s so focused on her graphic novel.
I have read more without reviewing but this is focused on it due to that being the book coming up. Haha
@@DanielGreeneReviews Would be interested to hear your updated thoughts.
I dont if you noticed, but ALL of these interviews focus on the work that authors are currently trying to promote...
Great interview as always! Now I wanna go read more of her books.

Love hearing her talk !! Amazing interview once again Daniel !
Your author interviews are some of my favorite content, thank you.
Such a great writer!!
Daniel, you should really read Vicious. It’s fast paced thriller and my personal favorite from Schwab
Two of my favorite people getting together to talk about books 😃
Awesome interview 👍 I love her personality. I’m not familiar with her books but after this interview I am definitely going to check out her work.
I have only read City of Ghosts by Schwab, but wow! She seems so excited about her craft in this video! I definitely want to read more by her now even if City of Ghosts wasn't my exact cup of tea.

This was great Daniel
EEEEKKKKKK. I JUST FINISHED ALL OF THE SHADES OF MAGIC BOOKS AND THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE! You have perfect timing Daniel!
She's my favorite author and I was not expecting this but I definitely appreciate it
Woohoo!! Been waiting for this since you read addie larue! VE Schwab has such great insight, I love listening to her. I follow her on instagram and she's great but HER CATS OMG. The flooffy one is so freaking adorable!!
Chauncey is SOOOOO CUTE
@@aurora_skies_ I want a Chauncey SO BADLY 😭
Cats are a scourge upon the Internet, I swear.

I have heard a lot of good things about the shades of Magic trillogy, I really want to get to it as soon as I can
I finished them about a week ago and really enjoyed them. There were a few moments where I just sat there to gather my thoughts.
I'd also really recommend the villains series. It is a better series imo, although it is unfinished.
@@sabrinab4238really excited to read it
@@TheEickert I would definitely check it out thanks for the recommendation
Love Schwab's work, the only signed book I own is Vengeful by her
Another interview! 🙏🏼
How did I miss this ?!
VE Schwab is so erudite and listening to her I really want to read her books. Unfortunately I haven’t really liked reading her novels 😅
I own a few Schwab but have yet to read any of her :-/ I'm super excited to finally sit down after the holidays and read Addie LaRue
My favourite author OMG!!!!
Can we appreciate the fact that her cat is named Chauncey?
Chauncey from The House on the Cerulean Sea!
Not VE Schwab giving me an existential crisis but this is also why she’s my favourite author
Love when I find an author interview where the author has a unique process, I've never heard of someone who storyboards all their writing.
Aye! Love V.E. Schwab's graphic novels!
Yay interview!!
I did remember right in the end!
Wow Daniel! You've been doing some amazing interviews recently. You must be living on a constant high! 😁
Yay!! I am writing a superhero fantasy novel after getting inspired from Vicious!
i can't believe Daniel kept the gigantic pikachu on frame for this haha love it
OMG those cats!
Chauncy and Thomas? Are those names in any way related to the Dresden Files?
I've never read anything from her but she sounds interesting. Might pick up 📚
I love your author interviews. I love hearing their different processes for how they create. I had no idea she wrote graphic novels. I’m going to try them out.
Also … the cats 😍😍😍
Gotta love the labels for the kitties.
Chauncey: full on floof
Thomas: recently awake

She’s the best. Shades of Magic is one of the best series.

And yay i just wrote a novel about death, too
I love serious Daniel even more than silly Daniel.
Can you make Kaitou Joker review?
She’s my fave!
Daniel should make a visual Novel for Rebels creed.

Interesting story...oh KITTENS!
I can see Daniel feeling a bit... let's say "overexcited" but that's alright, we all develop. TBH I couldn't say a word if I was him 😁
🤧🤧🤧
First
Am I first?
I like to think I was first. Since I think I am I am.
Hehe, Schwab, cause you know... Germans.
