Victoria got so much hate for no reason. Victoria was just an actor who had the talent of singing when casted the role. Most of the cast had actual training. Liz and Ari had Broadway training so obviously they were better than her. The reason she got the role is they wanted to tell the story of a girl who didn't think she was good enough to get into an art's school. It's like Victoria own story. I'm glad she is releasing music now. Her voice matured so much
OMG finally someone who didn't just jump onto the Tori hate bandwagon. Nobody hated her when we watched this show as kids so there's honestly no reason to hate her now, people just always want Liz and Ari to overshadow her, that's all. Even though she's clearly special because she went to the school as a "normal" person.

She was a good sister though. She warned Tori about the bush daisies. In the episode where Tori ends up in jail, Trina is fighting for her sister to get out of jail. She also warned Tori about Ryder Daniels.

People missed the point of this show. It's not about her being better than everyone else. It's about a girl who didn't think she was talented enough to get into this kind of school. We already know Liz and Ari are better. They had Broadway training and Victoria didn't. Victoria never did a singing role, she only ever acted before she started singing

I got that point, but I think it was poorly executed. If Tori is to be a person who doesn't fit in, who doesn't feel talented enough or who needs to strive to be on the same level as other students... why does everything come so easy for her? Even when Tori entered Hollywood Arts, a prestigious art school, it was something she achieved rather easily?? She did not fail the first audition. After entering, wouldn't it be better if she struggled a little more to get leading roles? To feel this difference between a "normal" person and a super talented person.
I dont know. I think the intention was to make her an underdog, but as I watch, she looks more like a Mary Sue to me. The show treats her talent as if it was something extraordinary, but it's not. And it shouldnt be. We don't see her struggling and trying to win roles and perfect her talent. At least, not enough to be believable.
The impression that I and several people had was that Tori reached the same level of talent/skill as her friends without so much effort... for exemple, in that episode 'Diva', is it serious that her video was chosen instead of all the other students? They tried to mix this perfect protagonist with an underdog/relatable protagonist and in my opinion, they failed her character.
Though I do think her hate is exaggerated. I bet a lot of people hate Tori just because it's a trend.
@@MsWinxmusa yeah i agree. i feel like it was unfair for everything to come so easy for her. i probably would’ve liked the show a lot more if it showed more of an evolution of her getting more talented over time and meanwhile, some of the other characters could’ve had more spotlight. about tori herself, i think she’s ok. she’s definitely not my favorite character, but i don’t hate her either.
I remember the episodes where:
1.Tori got dragged by the dog while singing the national anthem.
2. Jade ruining Tori's Prom Night
3. Jade and company spending Saturday at school for detention
4. Jade, Tori & Cat wearing blonde wigs
5. Tori & Jade trying to get along while trying to be a husband and wife in a play.

When I got my wisdom teeth removed I wouldn't even wanna walk from my bed to the couch because every step hit in my mouth. (That sounds weird but it's true.) I wanted to do everything to avoid the pain not fight against the one who brought the medicine to me. 😂 I think that's a ridiculous but iconic moment in the show.

I had no issues with pain or loopiness. I just almost cried cause my mom wasn’t there when I woke up and got annoyed cause they wouldn’t let me walk on my own when I felt fine. I got a ton of pain at night but it didn’t get better because my mom would only let me take half a pill cause I’m small. The pills had no effect though when I took half and my mom wouldn’t listen to me so I just suffered

I viewed the freak the freak out scene when the girls were picking which person to sing for them. The girls were obviously obsessed with vanity and would instantly think that someone ugly wouldn't be good at singing, thus the disguise was just to make the girls more inclined to choose her so the plan would work.

I'm oFfeNdED you think The Bird Scene is the worst episode of S1! Whenever I do a re-watch of the show that's always the first episode I want to see.
I love this episode because it's lesson is something that every kid needs to learn, whether they're artistic or not; believe in yourself, even if you're the only one who does.
When Tori has finally had enough of being rejected by Sikowitz and not receiving any feedback on how to make her performance better, she realizes that the only way she can evaluate her performance is by her own standard, and from that she knows she did a good job. Seeing her stand up for herself was so CATHARTIC and then seeing the whole class validate her stance, proving she was right all along, was just the icing on the cake and honestly an invaluable message to teach to the young kids who were/are watching the show.
It’s literally the worst rated EP of season 1, it wasn’t an opinion it was a fact.

in my country it's really uncommon for schools to have lockers; my school does have them but there are only 15 - my class is the only high school class (we're in 11th grade and all of the other students are college students, but I think this year we're getting new 9th grade people so that's fun I guess) in our school and there are like 30 people on it, so everyone has to share their lockers with someone else but belive me they are TINY. I don't even use mine because my books don't fit in there since I share it with another girl, at the end it's just better to carry the books around. IMAGINE HOW DISAPPOINTED I WAS AT THE FACT THAT I WOULDN'T EVEN BE ABLE TO CUSTOMIZE IT

Speaking as an actress/performer, I agree the bird scene had a good teaching point. But they went about it in the wrong way. Yes, have self confidence, but also, talking back to a director/teacher in the way that Tori does would be a huge no no. For starters, there's more to acting than making your own costume or training a bird. She did the scene the exact same each time, just with more scenery and stuff like that. Also, the question she should be asking is if she passed, not if she got it right. Because then they could do some fun stuff with character development and adding layers to the scene. Also also she doesn't even know what she's being graded on. She doesn't have a rubric or requirements. All she gets is "perform this scene".
Sorry. I realize its a kids show, but this episode always bugged me.
Also editing to add: there's a difference between being proud of what you did and being able to take notes/direction. Honestly, I feel like the Bird Scene would've been a lot more powerful if it was a mix of the two. So, Tori's whole story is she can't believe she was good enough to make it into an arts school right? Use the Bird Scene to introduce her to preparing a scene. Don't focus on the scenery and the costume. Focus on developing a character. Then have Sikowitz give her notes. Have her perform the scene again the next day with the notes. Then, have her do a self critique. What she did well and what she could improve. If it leans too heavily in one direction, she doesn't pass. There's always room for improvement, but you have to be proud of the work you've accomplished already and not tear yourself to pieces.

It’s 100% because of her brother and home life. She was staying at the school briefly cause her parents and brother went out of state so her brother could go to a special hospital where he couldn’t escape. She ran away from her aunt and uncle who were mean to her but at the end she went to go life with her grandma

Not to mention the show hints at the very very high chance that the mom was cheating on the dad. And the fact that she probably never taught Tori and Trina how to cook. The dad was just there. Always avoiding his daughters, and just not building a good relationship with them. They were overall a very disfunctional family :/

at 6:00 about Matt "ventriloquisting" was true, that Rex was voiced by someone else, BUT the interesting part and may be why you also thought Matt was actually playing both Robbie and Rex is because in some scenes with Rex throughout the show, there are moments Matt actually faked it by moving his mouth to say Rex's lines ever slightly. that's why I thought he was actually doing it. I was shocked to find out it wasn't really him, but it was kool Matt took his acting to another level by doing that small detail once in a while. I say it's almost once in every episode.
Apparently Matt said he had his mouth open most of the time because Liz Gilles taught him how to have a resting face.
I was A Disney kid so I never watched Victorious. I watched your reaction when you first released it but I've come back now that I decided to watch Victorious as an adult and I'm very excited. 😂 It was honestly so good
in most songs, cat’s voice was actually lowered in volume in the studio as opposed to the show’s version. i think this is the only song where cat’s vocals are louder in the studio version.
